Deirdra, the last of the single sisters. She is a workaholic corporate attorney who was upset when she was overlooked for a promotion. She decided to go on a two month hiatus to have her boss know how valuable she is. Deirdra headed over to her childhood small hometown of Silver Island. Deirdra, not a fan of the island only had planned on staying a short time with her sisters then head off for a vacation.

Jagger, a free spirit wanderer was friends with Deirdra's mom. He used to come and go as a cook at the Bistro when he needed money. Jagger is exactly what Deirdra needs to slowdown and chill out. I was not sure on how their relationship would work. With Deirdra's strong work ethic and Jagger's not so strong work ethic. I was pleased on how this story ended. I wish I was a free spirit as much as Jagger was. The first 2 books are standalone, however, I highly recommend you read them first. This way you know the characters.

A far away four-star read. This is number three in the Silver harbour series, but they can be read as stand-alone, Deidra was nice, but I did take a while to warm up to her. But once you do, you understand her fire and that is everything. I kind of er her feelings on Jagger at first, but then you get to know him as well and then the chemistry builds and bubbles over, man does it bubble over. This is great storytelling, it just drifts at times, but I really enjoyed the whole thing.

I laughed, I cried, my heart broke but then was over filled with joy, happiness and love for all of the sisters and their men. But there will always be a special place in my heart for Deidra and Jagger and their path to a love like no other. I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!

This book meant everything to me, it was so easy to read and so fun and enjoyable to read and it was overall the best thing I read

I had a hard time getting started with this one because I had not read the first 2 books in the series. To be honest, I've only read a few books by this author. There were so many names thrown around, there was no way I was going to keep up with all of them. So I felt a little lost on that front. I'm sure if you're a super fan, you'll appreciate all the mentions because you will know who all of these people are. I don't frequently read opposites attract like this, but it was pretty good. Jagger had his work cut out for him with Didi, but it finished really sweet. The letter business toward the end really made the story for me

Deirdra, an attorney, had to raise her sister after their father died and her mother got lost in the bottle. After her mother passed away they found out they had a half sister and their mother had wrote them letters. When Dee is passed over at her job, she takes a hiatus and goes back to the island she was born. Jagger is a loose, laid back guy who travels in a RV with his dog and guitar. Jagger knew Dee’s mother but hadn’t heard she’d passed away. When they get together sparks turns into an inferno. Can Dee open her heart to the “hippie”.

Be sure to have Kleenex’s nearby. Ok, now this was a great story but it took awhile to get into the story, nothing against the story but I need a little suspense or action, even secrets. If you’ve enjoyed the books before this one, then you’ll love this. Im not kidding about the tissues!!

Melissa Foster is one of those authors for me that I always know I will love her book before even reading it. I’ve read close to 100 books written by her and can’t think of any I wouldn’t give 5 stars!

I want to start this review with how much I respected how Melissa wrote about Jagger’s brother Gabe who has non-verbal autism. As a foster/adoptive mom I have parented a lot of children with Autism and I struggle reading a book when I can tell the author has not done any research of this disability before writing about it. I loved how Melissa portrayed him and used complete respect when talking about Gabe and his Autism. My favorite quote in the book was “The autism spectrum is kind of like the ocean. It’s vast and fluid and there are many aspects we’re still trying to understand. If there’s one thing I’ve learned about Autism, it’s that no two people experience it the same way.”

This book is the 3rd book in the Silver Harbor series. This is the story of Deirdra and Jagger. Deirdra is a workaholic who has completely closed herself off from the town she grew up in and her sisters. She holds so much anger from her past she can’t seem to move forward. Jagger is the complete opposite and makes decisions day by day, lives out of his RV and a completely laid back hippie. While they are complete opposites Jagger is able to bring out another side of Deirdra and find the parts of her she buried after dealing with her alcoholic mother. I absolutely loved how sweet Jagger was and how he never gave up on her. The things he does to make her smile and bring her out of her shell make him the best book boyfriend material ❤️ Can be read as a stand-alone but I promise you will love it so much more by reading the first 2 books in the series before this one. Thank you NetGalley for this ARC.

Deirdre has always been the grownup- she basically raised her sister thanks to an alcoholic mom- but now she's pitch a tantrum after not getting a promotion at her law firm and gone home to Silver Island in a huff. Jagger, a free spirit chef and musician at the restaurant owned by her family sees something more to Deirdre than others do and he's determined to heal her pain. These two are opposites for sure but there's more to the relationship than steam. Both of them plan to leave the Island for different reasons- Jagger because he lives to move and Deirdre to get back to the high powered world- but.... No surprises here but the characters are good. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. It's part of a series but perfectly fine as a standalone.

This is the third book in the Silver Harbor Series, and this is my favorite Melissa Foster book to date - it is a bit steamy, but I didn’t find it to be an overwhelming amount, as I did with the last one I read (Caught By Love). Deirdre is a hardworking attorney that works hard to outrun/forget her past, and the painful memories. When she gets passed over for a promotion at work, she takes a leave of absence to send a message to her firm. While at home, she connects with a guy who seems to be her polar opposite - Jagger doesn’t like to be tied down to one place, lives out of an RV and goes where the wind blows him. An unlikely couple, they find that they complement each other well - I really enjoyed seeing Jagger attempt to pull Dierdre out of her shell.

If you like romances and don’t mind one that is a little more on the steamy side - pick this one up and give it a try.

I received a copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This the third and final installment of the Silver Harbors trilogy which is focused on three sisters and their journey to a HEA (happily ever after). In this story we follow Deirdra, who is revenge-vacationing after being skipped over for a promotion. She heads back to Silver Harbors to attend her sister’s engagement party. While in town, Deirdra finds herself inextricably drawn to Jagger, a self declared hippie who lives out of an RV.

I liked how the author provided an explanation for Deirdra’s aversion to the island, but also made it clear that it had nothing to do with the inhabitants. I struggled with Jagger’s need to constantly bring up Deirdra’s tumultuous childhood. His intent was to help and he did offer good advice. It just felt like too much sometimes. I did appreciate the gentleness with which he broached the sensitive topics.

I wished there had been more sister time. They are a fun, eclectic trio who obviously adore each other.

Final thoughts: this is a light read with some serious topics sprinkled in. Deirdra’s journey to find her happiness is one we can all relate to.

This is the last of the series involving three sisters, two of whom survived an alcoholic mother (the oldest had been put up for adoption as a baby) but sustained emotional scars as a result. Deirdra left the island the two younger sisters grew up on as soon as she could and hated going back any more than absolutely necessary as it triggered negative emotions of having to become the adult at age 11 when their father died and mom turned to alcohol as an escape. Jagger is a traveling musician/chef who sees the good in life and tries to get Deirdra to as well. He's younger, which is an issue for Deirdra early on but she comes to realize he's "everything she never knew she wanted". I really enjoyed seeing her break down the walls she had been hiding behind to protect herself and to accept there is more to life than proving herself at work. It was also very informative about autism, which affected Jagger's younger brother as well as their family as a whole. Jagger's positive, upbeat attitude was also refreshing plus their banter was very entertaining. Highly recommended.

I am so excited to return to Silver Island. The location is breath taking but it was the people of the island I was looking forward to connecting with again. Deirdra de Messieres has returned home to lick her wounds and show her boss how much she is needed. She stays with her sister and her fiancé and when she escapes to the garage apartment, she realizes that Jagger Jones is also staying there, temporarily. I love the scene that Deirdra learns that Jagger is staying in the apartment. Expecting an empty room, she sure gets a HUGE surprise when she sees Jagger there.

Deirdra and Jagger are so opposite. Jagger with his hippie go with the flow lifestyle and Deirdra with her plan every minute lifestyle are as different as can be. Together Jagger and Deirdra balance each other out. I love the heat between the two of them. The chemistry is undeniable, and it is quickly obvious to everyone around them that they belong together, long term. I was just wondering how long it would take for Jagger to convince Deirdra that he was a keeper.

The three sisters in this series are wonderful. I have loved reading each of their books and love that each is a complete standalone story, yet the characters and settings are familiar in each book. Melissa Foster has a talent to write books full of heat, love, friends, and families. I always look forward to reading them.

5 Star Review of Maybe We Won’t (Silver Harbor #3) by Melissa Foster

It was great to be back on Silver Island for the third book in Melissa Foster’s Silver Harbor series. Maybe We Won’t was well written with characters whose story you cannot help but be drawn into.

This is Deirdra de Messiéres and Josiah “Jagger” Jones story and was an entertaining story that ticked the boxes for me. Returning home to Silver Harbor for a break from her job, Deirdra is annoyed by the chef/musician at her families bistro.

However despite her feelings there is chemistry between them that is intense and they are drawn to one another. Both Jagger and Deirdra have baggage and could not be more opposite and yet as a couple they really are suited.

Can the laid back chef help bring some fun to workaholic Deirdra ‘s life? The banter between them is witty and as they they get to know one another the attraction ignites.
Deirdra and Jagger are meant to be together and I was cheering for them to get the happily ever after that they both deserved.

Boston attorney, Deirdra deMesseere, decided to take a haitus to go home to Silver Island, after being passed over for a promotion in her all male law firm. Home was not a happy place for Deirdra after years of being an adult for her alcoholic mother and younger sister. Reuniting with her sisters, Abby and Cait, she soon realizes that their relationship is strained and not a happy one. “Jagger” Jones, the laid-back, hippie musician and chef for the family restaurant, the Bistro, is someone with many past issues to push through, and Deirdra doesn’t want anything to do with him. One chance encounter between the two, leads to a friendship, plus Deirdra letting go of her strong, “perfect” guard down. They are both on a separate paths dealing with past regrets, Jagger’s wanderlust life style, and Deirdra’s need to always being perfect and prepared. The story is very raw, emotional, real, intense, plus being sweet and a honest story that happens in life. Another great addition to the Silver Island series!

I enjoyed this book - it was an easy read - entertaining escapism - and the characters were engaging.

A couple of “nits” that should be corrected: 1) in Chapter 4 there is a reference to the song “Don’t Worry Be Happy” - and then “Not a Bob Marley fan?” That is not a Bob Marley song - it is Bobby McFerrin and that’s a pretty glaring musical error.

2) Chapter 1, first sentence: the main character’s name should have the opposite accent. It should be de Messières NOT de Messiéres. This mistake will grate on anyone who is fluent in French.

This was one of my favorite books by Melissa Foster. Deirdra is a workaholic and has been running/ignoring her past and determined to never end up like her mom. Jagger is a musician and chef but doesn’t like to be tied to one place. When they first met, she sees him as a hippy who just wanders as he pleases. When she takes an impromptu hiatus from work, she returns to Silver Island (the one place she doesn’t like to be) to be with her sisters. I connected with Deirdra and how focused on work she was, but loved how Jagger saw the real her that she had buried with all of the hurt. I also loved getting to know Jagger and how he really isn’t just someone with no drive- he is just much more laid back than she is. Deirdra and Jagger complemented each other to bring out the best in each other. . I also loved we got more of our other friends on Silver Island.

Finally! I have been waiting for Deirdre’s book and it was exactly as I thought it should be. Initially, I had to say I wasn’t a fan of hers but I believe that was intentional. Watching her grow and love (both familial love and romantic love) was a beautiful process and Jagger and Dolly were the perfect instigators. Jagger was wonderful- a hippie perhaps but so deep and complex and a perfect foil to get Deirdre to open up. As usual, Melissa Foster’s expansive world brings into play so many fun characters, a lovely escape to our current world. A beautiful, fun story.

Maybe We Won't by M. Foster, published by Montlake, is a stand-alone and book three in the Silver Harbor Series.Deirdra and Jagger couldn't be more different from each other. The strict lawyer and the easygoing free spirit who's just goes with the flow.
But opposites attract they say and the hippie and the conservative find themselves in a rletionship and the reader finds himself in a beautiful story. This story has cross-overs to previous books, and I recommend to read the books in order.

I’ve enjoyed this series from Melissa Foster following three sisters who live on an island off the coast of Massachusetts. Two were raised together and only learned of another sister after the death of their alcoholic mother. This can be read as a stand alone but is best enjoyed in order. Deirdra is the one who had to become an adult at age 11 and take care of her mom and younger sister. She has always been an achiever and security is very important to her. After being passed over for a promotion at her corporate lawyer job in Boston she takes time off to spend with her sisters. There she begins a flirtation and then a hot and steamy fling with Jagger, the 25 year old, part time chef and musician that lives in an RV with his dog Dolly. I like sensible Deirdra and understand her character. Jagger has more going for him than meets the eye. I was going to be disappointed if Deirdra had to change her personality to fit into his life. And happily the author works a good balance. A good conclusion to the series. Thank you to NetGalley and Monlake for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Maybe We Won't is the 3rd book in the Silver Harbor Series by Ms. Foster and it just might be my favorite of the three. And that actually surprises me because when we met Deirdra/Didi in the first book I found her to be closed off and I honestly didn't think anyone or anything would ever get through her hard exterior, but leave it to Ms. Foster to write a compassionate and emotional story for her and Jagger! I adored Jagger and he is the absolute perfect companion/BFF/lover/partner for Deirdra - he brings out the best in her and I so enjoyed their journey. I know all 3 books have been stated as standalones and they can be read as standalones, but I genuinely think everyone should read the entire series in order to fully appreciate the dynamic among these 3 sisters. The experience of reading what each of these sisters have gone through; what they've accomplished and how much they've grown was entertaining and thoroughly delightful. I enjoyed the entire series, but I liked this one the best! I'm grateful for the opportunity to have read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.
