So lovely!
This was a classical Hallmark trope: fancy attorney want's nothing to do with the hippie but falls in love with him. But this is just to box the story in a known category, the truth is the book has a lot more depth if you read the other books in the series. And both characters have much more substance and complexity in their humanity.
Both Deidra and Jagger have hidden stories to tell and ways in which they shine beautifully. Each of them had their share of hard years and both are destined to create fantastic lives if only they let themselves see the bigger picture, the other possibilities. Their coming together is both explosive and tender, in a beautiful, heartwarming love story.
I love how this book ends the series, Deidra's story turned both unexpected and charming and I would love to see it turned into a movie. Though I suspect the book is so well written it would be hard for the movie to tell the story better.
I, also, adored what the title refers to. There are so many happy ending that feature the same happy family that it's wonderfully refreshing to see from time to time stories that end like this.
I received a copy of this in order to offer my personal view on it.

The Silver Harbor series has allowed me to escape from reality for a bit when I've needed it most and that's what makes this series so fun to read. It's emotionally packed with family, love, friendships, career life, traumatic events, etc. with a little bit of spice thrown in.
Thank you Netgalley for the ARC copy of this book for my honest review!

Deirdra is at a crossroads in her professional life and has returned temporarily to her family at Silver Island to decide her next move. With too many skeletons in her island closet all she wants to do is run – towards Jagger, the local hippie was not what she had in mind. They couldn’t be more different, she’s a workaholic lawyer, whilst on the outside he appears to be a free spirited musician who tends to go with the flow and goes where the wind takes him. Getting in to bed with him by accident was not part of the plan. Once out there, it’s only a matter of time before Deirdra discovers the real Jagger and they embark on a fling together. It should be temporary, but with Jagger making Deirdra feel safe, cherished and adored, and awakening her long forgotten spirit and emotions what happens when they realise they are more than just flinging, they are both falling for each other?
Be still my beating heart, not only did Jagger give Deirdra butterflies, I had some too. What’s not to love about him, he’s kind, caring, flirty, romantic, supportive and addictive and has a way of connecting with the real Dierdra. Their story was emotional, heart warming, uplifting, a real feel good read and an enjoyable opposites attract romance.

I've been curious about Deirdra and Jagger's individual characters since the first book, and I was honestly a bit surprised that her story paired them up. This is an extreme case of opposites attract, since she's a super workaholic attorney and he's a go with the flow "hippie" chef and musician. Turns out both of them have a lot more going on that these surface judgements.
Jagger shows Deirdra that it is ok to slow down and to feel things, and she recognizes that he actually does have a lot of plans and drive.
They were sweet to each other, and lots of chemistry. I just don't know that I find her change totally believable. This wasn't my favorite story of the series.

Deirdra de Messiéres is my soul sister! And Jagger… well, he is what fantasies are made of. Everything about Maybe We Won’t warmed my heart and fed my soul. It’s one of those novels that will make you laugh and cry all at the same time. Not because it’s heartbreaking, but because your heart is being put back together.
Melissa Foster characters are always so fun and relatable and the banter between Deirdra and Jagger is hilarious!
The entire series has been outstanding and so, so, so full of love. Love for soulmates, for self, for family, for friends, and for the world.

From the moment Deirdra turned her nose up at Jagger in Maybe We Will I’ve been waiting for their love story. From the outside Deirdra is a straight-laced, uptight, power attorney who thrives in city life while Jagger seems like a laid-back hippy with no cares or troubles. Of course, as is the case with most people, there are more layers to them both.
Deirdra is at a disadvantage; Jagger knew Deirdra’s now deceased mom who would often talk about her daughters, and Deirdra never knew about Jagger. Deirdra moved away from home as soon as she was able and never really went back other than very quick obligatory visits. Her mom was an alcoholic who spiraled into her disease when Deirdra and her little sister were still young, leaving a too young Deirdra with grownup responsibilities. Jagger knows, from his conversations with her mom, how much she regretted this and how proud of Deirdra she was. Unfortunately, Deirdra never got to have those important conversations with her mom.
Both main characters take an emotional journey in this story, more so Deidra than Jagger. They both have a lot to let go of and a lot to grab onto. And they both definitely need to learn the art (and joy) of compromise. These two can and will be perfect together if they’ll give themselves the room to expand their views of what they need in life.
There were times I was afraid this story would spiral into the “big city exec just needs to give into small town life to be happy” thing. Which can be fine and entertaining with the right characters, Deirdra is not the right character for that. While it seemed to tip its toes into those waters here and there, the reality of how Deirdra found her happiness is much more complex. She found a balance between letting it all go and having a long-term plan.

MAYBE WE WON’T brings out all the feels in a delightfully charming way. Deirdra is as far from being a carefree, go-with-the-flow kind of girl as you can imagine. Jagger, just the opposite. He’s the epitome of a “hippie boy” in a sexy, want-to-tear-up-the-sheets-with kind of way. Talk about opposites attracting. Deirdra and Jagger’s attraction may start out with friction, but when the sparks start flying you know their combustion is going to be epic. Theirs is an emotional tale that you can only hope has a happy ending. But there’s a lot of pain in Didi’s past she has to overcome, and it just may be too much to ask Deirdra to shed the life she’s built, in order for Didi to live. There are touches of angst and heartache along the way that are sure to bring the tears, but there’s also a lot of light-hearted fun and growing love that makes this one of those stories you are not going to want to let go of.

Maybe We Won’t is the third title in the Silver Harbor series, and we finally get Deirdra and Jagger together at last… if, reluctantly on Deirdra’s side of this couple. It needs to be said, that you cannot go wrong with a Melissa Foster romance – you just can’t. The characters are real, the emotions high, the situations unique, and the storytelling is always compelling bringing the reader into a lovely, realistic world with all of its trauma, realities, and the spark, the chance at a love that will last a lifetime. You’ll find all of that and more in this one.
I’ve been waiting for Deirdra’s story. She’s the one who held the family together after her father’s death and her mother’s deep dive into alcoholism. She grew up far too fast with too many responsibilities for someone her age at the time. Yet, she survived, she did what needed to be done… and then she got out determined to never, ever return for any length of time. Her future was not on the island, her family is there yes, and her love for her sisters is real and deep, but the island is not a place she feels comfortable for the memories overcome any good time she had or might have in the future in her mind.
Now she’s back and regretting it almost immediately. She’s thrown down the gauntlet, she’s been overlooked for a promotion at work (because she doesn’t have the right plumbing for the all-boys club mentality) and had simply taken leave that is due her and left them in the lurch believing that her boss will finally see her value, her worth and offer her the promotion she rightly deserves. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look too good for Deirdra – work-wise or being back on the island again. She cannot get beyond the memories, the bad memories of tending to her mother in so many ways. That resentment always lies just beneath the surface of everything she sees or hears on the island.
And then there’s Jagger. The hippie chef/musician is always “there” with knowing eyes and a draw that she will not acknowledge nor understands, at all. What she cannot see is that behind the calm Jagger of today is a man who has faced his own demons and learned to get beyond their control. What she sees is only part of Jagger, but he’s determined to help Deirdra see life differently… and it’s going to be such a steamy, revealing adventure for them both.
I adored (and always have adored) Jagger. There is an age difference, yet he is what I’d call an old soul in a young body. He’s found his way to peace, unique to him but he’s found it. The sizzling chemistry between Jagger and Deirdra is off the charts. Watching them both change their minds, their attitudes, and discover that forever is possible when you find the right person was such a delightful experience. I admit, there were moments when I wanted to reach through the pages and give Deirdra a very stern talking to… but having her eyes open to a different perspective can only come from within – and I loved watching her grow into the woman she deserves to be.
I loved Maybe We Won’t so much. If you love a realistic romance with people who need to see the truth from a different angle, a tight community, a sizzling couple… and an adorable dog, then this one is perfect for you.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are my own – good, bad, or indifferent. I was not financially compensated for this review and no expectation of a positive review was promised.*

I loved Deirdra and Jagger's story. It's so sweet and heartwarming and I loved that Jagger's character is different from any characters I've read. Deirdra is also an amazing character. I loved how much growth and development her character went through and you can see just how much. I loved the connection and attraction between them. You can feel the love between them and how deep it is. I seriously loved watching every single second of their interactions and how their relationship grows. It was really, really sweet.

We met Deirdre (and Jagger) in the first book of the series about the sisters who are forced to come to Silver Island when their alcoholic mother dies, leaving them The Bistro, the family restaurant. She's a hot shot lawyer in Boston, who resents her late mother for the childhood she had, hates coming home to the island and has no time for the "hippie boy" her sister has hired as cook and in-house entertainment. Jagger is the opposite of everything she wants in her life: he lives in an RV ("the hippie van"), lives wherever the mood takes him, makes zero plans for anything, and apparently takes nothing seriously. To add insult to injury, he's hot as sin and five years younger than her. So, why on earth is her stomach filled with butterflies whenever "the hippie" is around?
I had been waiting since book 1 for Deirdra's story! She's such a complex character! Forced to grow up at 11 years old, taking care of her mother and her sister, she created this "controlled living" for herself that I knew needed someone like Jagger to be able to break through her walls. Jagger is so much more than the "hippie boy". You just know that underneath the hemp pants (take your mind off the gutter, pervs! lol), the hippie van and the devil-may-care attitude, there is a lovely, sensitive and caring man. He's the big brother to Gabe, who's autistic and non-verbal and the love between the brothers is absolutely beautiful! When "Didi" and Jagger get together, they bring out the best of each other and it's lovely to see her revert to "the dancing girl".
Melissa never disappoints. This is a low angst, low conflict book, but it packs a punch in the feels. It's a beautiful romance, but it is also a touching book about love - for your siblings, for your flawed parents, for the people who show up when you need support in life.
(I loved how Melissa cleverly inserted the titles of the three books in a conversation!!)
Though book 3 in a series, it can be read as a standalone.
Possible Triggers and REP: MMC's brother is non-verbal autistic; misogyny in the workplace; mentions of alcoholism; dealing with an alcoholic parent; grief
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you NetGalley , and Melissa, for the ARC.

Over worked lawyer falls for loosie goosie hippie boy!! Opposites do attract in this fabulous, steamy love story that will have you swooning and laughing over this couple!! Many ups and downs from past and present that puts barriers up for them. The connection between this couple sizzles between them and every one else can see it!! Loved this series and these 3 sisters!! Melissa Foster can create a story that will suck you right in and you will not want to leave!! My favourite author who can not write anything bad so go grab her books today and sit back and enjoy!!!

You can read "Maybe We Won't" as a standalone, but I strongly suggest you read the whole series; it was a wonderful ending to the series about the de Messieres sisters.
I liked this story best out of the three, maybe because I could relate more, being an attorney myself. It shows you that work is not all there is and that there are choices to be made as long as one is open to them.
It was a good read and I really enjoyed it.

I loved this fun, romantic story. Deirdra and Jagger were great together despite being total opposites. He was able to bring out her playful side, and I loved all of their dating adventures. Maybe We Won't was the perfect ending to the Silver Harbor trilogy!

“…We don’t stop loving people because they’re hurting or they do things to try to push us away. That’s when we hold them tighter, because that’s when they need us the most.”
Maybe We Won’t is the third book in the Silver Harbor series by Melissa Foster. It was a heartwarming story of love, forgiveness, and rebuilding relationships. The book was beautifully written, and the pacing was perfect. We meet both characters in the previous books and I was so happy to finally read Didi and Jagger’s story after seeing all the friction between them.
Workaholic attorney Deidra “Didi” de Messieres returned home to Silver Island after the promotion she had been working towards was given to someone else. She hopes her absence will make her boss rethink his decision. She has no interest in staying on the island or in Jagger, the man who drives her crazy. She has future plans, and his free spirit lifestyle and lack of plans exasperate her. She plans on attending her sister Cait’s engagement party and then leaving right away.
Josiah “Jagger” Jones had been a friend of Didi’s mother, Ava, for years and worked at the Bistro part-time when he was in town. He lives life without being tied down because he wants to travel the world and play music. He was looking forward to his backpacking trip around Europe for a few months.
After her father died, Didi had been forced to grow up fast and take up a lot of responsibility. She felt like an outsider when she returned to the island and saw how happy her sisters were. She realizes she has let her work become more important than her sisters and wants to change that. Learning of Jagger’s thoughtfulness and how much he cared for his family, gave Didi a new perspective of him. Can she let go of the resentment towards her mother and find happiness? I have loved this series and hope to see Didi and her sisters again in future books.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Maybe We Won't has an intimacy that was pure magic!
Deirdra is all work and no play that is relatable to any career-driven woman. Jaggar is the go with the flow chef and musician who's back at Silver Island for another season. That might be who they are on the outside, but there is so much depth to each character. I loved discovering each of their layers.
Their opposites-attract chemistry was sizzling. The way that Jaggar encouraged Deirdra to slow down and savor every moment was playful and sensual.
But this story was also about getting to the core of who you are, cherishing relationships, and feeling your emotions, even the hard ones. For me, it was also a timely reminder to slow down and get out there to play, love, and laugh.
Can I also say that Melissa Foster writes some scene-stealing dogs! Dolly is the ever affectionate dalmatian who might give Scrappy (from Maybe We Should) a run for his money. Scrappy, you are still my #1.
Maybe We Won't was a fantastic conclusion to the series.
You can read this book as a standalone, but I highly recommend you read the whole series; you will fall in love with each of the de Messieres sisters.

Another trip to Silver Island is a perfect way to spend the day. Deidre and Jagger are opposites. She’s uptight, he’s laid back. She likes men in suits, he wears hemp clothes and doesn’t own a suit. She’s also older than him. But, they make fireworks when they’re together. This is the third book in the Silver Island series. It can be read as a stand-alone, but is a much richer story if you’ve read the first two. I really enjoyed this story. It’s probably my favorite of the three. Jagger’s outlook on life is so refreshing, and honestly, I would really enjoy a hippie hangover right about now!

I could not connect with the main characters of this book and it was a long, slow road to read the entire book. Many will enjoy this story, but for my personal preferences, I don’t enjoy heroes who are nomadic with no real plan in life.
I love Melissa Foster as an author, but this book wasn’t my favorite.
Thanks to the publisher for a review copy via NetGalley.

Maybe We Won't is the 3rd book in the Silver Harbor series and it does not disappoint. Though it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone story, I highly recommend that you read the two stories that came before it. This is Deirdra's story and she is the sister who was the toughest of the 3 and knew that once she found her HEA it would be worth it. She finds herself back on the island after taking a hiatus from her workaholic lifestyle in Boston and a chance encounter with Jagger (the "hippie" who.works part time at her sister's bistro) has her instantly and inexplicecently attracted to him and as much as she tries to fight it....there is no going back. Jagger slowly knocks down the fortress she has built around her and she also slowly opens herself up to new relationships.... not only with the Island she used to call home, but her sisters , Jagger himself and even a reevaluation of what she had with her mother. There are ups and downs, laughs and a few tears, the steam and sexiness....all wrapped up in book form :) I thoroughly enjoyed this latest offering from Melissa Foster.

This is a good book. The two main characters are Deirdra and Jagger. Deirdra is an attorney who is on a two month leave, Jagger is a chef at Deirdra’s sister restaurant. There is a mutual attraction. They each have trust issues but together they work through them. Jagger helps Deirdra to see how to be more relaxed. They fall in love.

“I love you, Dee. I love your snakiness and your sweetness. I love your stubborn streak and the way you give me crap but look at me like you want to devour me.”
Maybe We Won't is the 3rd book in the Silver Harbor series.
I was super intrigued by Dierdra and Jagger's pairing. I could feel it building between them in the previous two books, but I couldn't see how these two would come together or how they would work as a couple. As unlikely as they are together, they ended up being a super cute pairing and having a transformational, supportive, and fun effect on each other.
Dierdra's issues with her childhood and resentment toward her mother were very real. I appreciated Jagger's advice about feeling the feelings that come rather than shoving them away to fester. Overall, her character growth was inspiring. She learned more about herself, reprioritized, let go to enjoy life, and yet never lost herself in the process.
I enjoyed the banter and the love between the sisters. As a sister of four, I can really understand and admire those bonds so it was nice seeing them strengthen in these Silver Harbor books.
I received an ARC in exchange for providing an honest review.
