Maybe We Won’t by Melissa Foster is the third and final book in the Silver Harbor trilogy.

I’ve read all of them now and enjoyed them equally.

Deidra was such an intriguing character for me in the previous books.

A turbulent past, makes her staying away from her hometown on the island. But one day everything changed, and she's back.

This story is much more emotional and showcases the opposite family dynamics.

Jagger is a spirit free soul that will show her that life is much more interesting and worth living when you let go of the past and just live in the moment.

I loved this book the most and the chemistry, tension and emotions were felt throughout the pages.

Okay, this book. I am speechless, I am so in love and so glad I was able to find this book. It was impeccable and I could’ve lived in this world forever. Silver Island is calling me.

Deirdra or Didi had to take adult responsibilities from the early age of 11 which means she’s always lived by a set schedule, always working. Jagger is carefree, lives day by day, without any worry except living life to the fullest. They are so opposite but so meant to be.

When Didi returns to her home, she wants absolutely nothing to do with Jagger. But, that’s how all the classics starts. Soon, she finds herself letting loose and seeing full-on happiness for the first time in a long time.

Jagger brought the best out of Didi and was able to help her find herself again. Their love story was one that I will always cherish reading and oh my lord, I loved it if it wasn’t obvious. The heat and chemistry between them was undenieble. It was so obvious they were meant to be together forever but obviously, it took Deirdra lots of convincing from Jagger to get there.

This is the third book in the series so yes, I did read it backwards. But, after reading this book, I just know Abby’s and Cait’s books must be phenomenal.

I want a hippie boy that calls me sweet thing! 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️ anyone know where I can get one?

Thank you Melissa and Netgalley for the Arc. I feel so blessed because I was able to find a new author and series!

What a wonderful book that takes you away from everything that is happening in this crazy world we live in.
Diedre and Jagger have that underlying spark that changes and it's fun to watch how it all plays out. It's also to catch up with the characters from Melissa's previous books in the series!

Maybe We Won't is the third novel in Melissa Foster's Silver Harbor trilogy set in her Silver Island romantic universe. I really looked forward to Deidra's book and it didn't disappoint. While all three books can be read as standalones, I recommend starting from Maybe We Will, where we learnt about Abby and Deidra's childhood -you will get a better understanding and emotional build-up to Deidra's story.
In books 1 and 2 we see Deidra as a mysterious workaholic, dedicated to her career of a corporate lawyer. It is almost as if she is running away from her home island. Anything unplanned and free-spirited reminds her of the selfishness of her alcoholic mother. Laidback, sympathetic Jagger is Deidra's sunny opposite, but if anyone can help her process her complex feelings towards her mother and help her embrace life, that's Jagger. I really liked the research and thought that went into creating Gabe, Jagger's younger brother.
If you are a fan of Melissa's previous books, you know there will be lots of familiar faces and happy couples from the island's big family.
An emotional, engaging, passionate book about things that matter-love, forgiveness, patience. and family.

Maybe We Won't by Melissa Foster is book Three in the Silver Harbor Series. This is the story of Josiah Jones 'Jagger' and Deirdra de Messiéres. I have read the previous books which did add to my enjoyment of this one. Jagger at first glance is a carefree hippy working as a cook at Deirdra's family restaurant but their si so much more there. Deirdra is a successful lawyer who at her law firm has been looked over for job promotions. This last one has her taking a leave for two months to return home to Silver Island. Deirdra is a workaholic who feels the squeeze of their small town and Jagger seems to work on her nerves too. But the closer they become the more they find that maybe they are more compatible and feelings are more than they thought. I love Ms. Foster's books which take you on such an emotional journey that brings you into their story. Loved it.

This is book three in The Silver Harbor series and it is Deirdra and Jagger's story and omg it is definitely a must read. When Deirdra is passed over for a promotion after she had always worked so hard she decides to show them that they need her and so she decides to take a two month leave and goes to Silver Island to spend time with her sister's even though it is not a place that she likes to go to as it always brings up bad and painful memories of her childhood. Jagger was a hippy and never stayed anywhere very long but he had been friend's with Deirdra's mother before she dies so he helps out at there bistro but Deirdra was always riled up by his later back attitude and he loved to tease her. Both Deirdra and Jagger have so much baggage but there chemistry is off the charts hot and you can feel it sizzling of the pages and even though they are totally opposites in every way they are still so perfect together and you find yourself hoping that they can some how come together and get the happy ending that they both deserve. My heart broke with everything that they had both been through and at times it was so emotional that I was in tears but to watch Deirdra grow and become the person that she really was underneath her hard exterior was such a beautiful thing to see and Jagger was an incredible, caring and great to his brother who had autism but Jagger also stayed true to what he believes in and still always there for those that need him. This story took you on a roller coaster ride of emotions and I couldn't put it down and had to keep turning the pages as it was so addictive and I definitely recommend you read this book.

Silver Island is the last place Deirdra wants to be. She's been avoiding the small meddling town where everyone knows your name and your business. She thinks that everyone is judging their family for their mother's alcoholism, but after spending time with her sisters on the island and talking with their surrogate mothers she realizes that the judgment was on her. Meeting Josiah--hippie boy, Jagger--brought up her hackles. He lived the complete opposite of her. They were attracted to one another, but Deirdra did what she could to resist. And then she stopped resisting. She let her hair down literally and figuratively and learned to live in the moment. She learned more about the mother she resented from Jagger. She also learned about his laissez-faire attitude towards life and why it was important to him to live the way he did. Jagger taught her how to put herself first and above all love herself. Little did she know that he would also pierce the wall around her heart and fall in love with him.

Ms. Foster did a stellar job of bringing Autism Awareness to the forefront; this book releases during Autism Acceptance Month. Her depiction of Jagger's brother Gabe shows a small sliver of the many faces of autism and celebrates the different abilities of individuals with autism, which isn't a death sentence or a limiting diagnosis. Gabe may have been a secondary character in this story, but without the inclusion of Gabe as a character, I would have missed the point of Jagger. The characters are amazingly realistic and relatable.

I received an advance copy of this book at my request and voluntarily left this review.

Deirdra and Jagger are not an obvious match for a couple. Somehow, they really work well together. Deirdra has a lot of resentment and hurt from her relationship with her mother that she has to work through. Jagger is a much subtler hero than a lot of books. I really liked his sensitivity. I do love all the characters on Silver Island. Melissa Foster does a fantastic job of building whole communities of characters that you want to revisit again and again. I'm already waiting for my next visit to the island! I received an advance copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Another sweet escape into the world of Silver Harbor! Maybe We Won’t is yet another heartfelt and emotional story from the charming Melissa Foster, the story just as dreamy as the cover. In this Silver Harbor outing we get the story of Deirdra and Jagger- and oh they are so great together.

Deirdra is, the workaholic sister, home at Silver Island to nurse her pride (and stick it to her boss a bit) after missing out on a much deserved promotion. While she’s happy to be reunited with her family, she doesn’t love this small town life she once escaped, and she doesn’t love being around Jagger Jones, the aloof and relaxed chef at her family’s restaurant. A workaholic and and free spirit- what a delicious match!

This is a story about figuring out what you want in life, and about realizing that you can’t always judge a book by it’s cover. Both Jagger and Deirdra have had their own adversity and trials- and each has just manifested the impact of their own way of coping. Jagger has found peace in his freedom, focusing on the parts of life that matter most, and rebuking the rest. And Deirdra has avoided the memories of this place, has put all of herself in her work. At first she wants to avoid Jagger, but eventually she realizes there’s a real connection, and meaningful conversations develop into a powerful relationship, one where Jagger helps push her out of her head, helps see the parts of her being she’s not yet thought about, or that she’s actively ignored. But what will that mean for their very different life paths- is there a common ground that lasts beyond their stay at Silver Island?

I love watching characters find themselves as the result of finding authentic connections with another, especially unexpected ones, and I loved seeing Deirdra find her truest self and see beyond her baggage. Jagger truly sees her, and the ways in which he challenges but supports her, connects with her and hears her are oh so very dreamy. And, as always, we have the great family dynamic Melissa writes so deftly- family, love, and purpose. It’s the Melissa Foster full experience.

I really enjoyed this book! Deirdra is a workaholic who had a difficult childhood with an alcoholic mother. Jagger is a laid back hippie who was friends with Deirdra’s mother. At first glance, Dierdra believes she has nothing in common with Jagger and doesn’t really want anything to do with that hippie, but the more time they spend together, the more apparent it is that they are quite similar in some aspects. I loved how Deirdra and Jagger slowly began to see each other for who they really were and encouraged each other. This book warmed my heart with the sense of family and community and caused some heart palpitations with all the chemistry. It also made me laugh with the banter between Deirdra and Jagger. I loved Jagger's dog, Dolly. I highly recommend this book!

Deirdra is a workaholic lawyer and likes things planned out and organized. When she is passed up for a promotion at work, she heads home to Silver Island for a break. Jagger is a free spirit hippie who lives in his RV with his dog. He's a musician and chef at her sister's bistro. They have a magnetism between them that keeps bringing them together. She has buried all the hurt inside herself and had to grow up early. Both have pasts to overcome throughout their story. Emotional, heartwarming and beautiful story of two completely opposite people who also complement each other perfectly.

Deirdra de Messiéres is a self-diagnosed workaholic lawyer who left Silver Island to pursue a career. Following the loss of her mother, she returns home, and reconnects with her sisters, and with free-spirited, ever-sunny Jaagger.

While I'm never a huge fan of insta love, the banter between Jagger and Deidra was definitely fun to witness (and of course, who doesn't love Dolly, Jagger's pet dog and trusty sidekick). There were times where Deidra was too snobby and selfish to be enjoyable and I wasn't really rooting for her all the time, especially when she could be so condescending to Jagger.

Additionally, Jagger was written to be in his mid-twenties, but at times felt like he was written by an older generation's perception of a kid in their mid-twenties: not really an adult, floating around, too carefree (frequently referred to as a hippie).

This was a solidly "good" book: a quick read, perfect for anyone looking for a small-town romance, with a side of grump and sunshine.

Deidra is a work a holic and Jagger is a free sport who goes with the flow. Deidra returns home after the loss of her mother and meets Jagger who changes the way she had always thought of her mother.
I really loved Jagger and of course, Dolly. He had always heard stories about Deidra from her mother, but the woman he is face to face with now is lost and he is the perfect person to help her find herself again and live. Plus, his family, especially his brother Gabe….it’s such a special and sweet relationship they have. I loved seeing Deidra open up and actually enjoy life again.
If you enjoy a good small town romance, this is a great choice.

Deidra left Silver Island to pursue a career. Now, she is a workaholic and slightly on the grump side. Jagger is a free spirit, full of sunshine and light. The two of them are opposites, yet together they balance each other out.

Jagger and Deidra are not lacking when it comes to chemistry. The two of them are really heating up the pages. I loved their story, the growth of these characters and all the sweet family moments that occurred.

Maybe We Won't is the third book in the Silver Harbor series and we get the story of the third sister, Deirdra.

Deirdra de Messiéres is a workaholic lawyer who was sure she was going to get a promotion at work, but when she was passed over for the position, she decided to take a two-month break to hopefully show her boss how much she is missed. She heads home to see her sisters, but outside of the two of them, she doesn't love being back in the small town.

Jagger Jones is a musician and a chef at the sister's bistro, so he is around when Deirdra shows back up in town. Jagger is more of a hippie type who finds joy in music, traveling, family, friends and peace. He finds Deirdra intriguing and he sees a woman who he can help as she tries to deal with being back in town and all of the bad memories that go with that courtesy of her mother.

Deirdra wants to put as much space as possible between she and Jagger, but he keeps popping up and she can't deny that she enjoys spending time with him. Jagger takes her out of her comfort zone and shows her a new side of herself. Will she actually embrace it or continue to try to put as much space between them as possible?

Maybe We Won't was such a great story. It was great to see Deirdra change and evolve right before readers eyes and the way that Jagger just knew exactly what she needed and how he saw through to the heart of who she was, was so wonderful. I enjoy Melissa Foster anytime I am able to read her work. Make sure you check out this series!

Really enjoyed this series. Book three finds Dee Dee, the overachiever on leave from her job and back on the island. Jagger, the hippie, is still hangin out working at the cafe and making Dee Dee crazy.
When their spark catches, it is 🔥🔥. It’s definitely a story about letting go of who you are supposed to be and becoming who you want to be.

Intense romance that focuses on embracing life.

Deirdra has been silently questioning what she really wants as her sisters found their HEAs in the earlier two books. Still convinced her happiness is best secured through her career, she's thrown for a loop when things don't go as planned so she takes a leave of absence to join her family at Silver Harbor. The most intriguing part of her sabbatical is the delicious yet far too young and carefree Jagger, a man who challenges her to reevaluate what is really is that she wants out of life.

I loved their romance, especially seeing it come to life after reading the flirty hints earlier in the series. Jagger is everything a gal could want, and his zest for life is inspirational. I loved his patience with her, his way of seeing right through all her walls, and I also loved how she grounded him and gave him a purpose.

The inclusion of his family was very well done, especially his autistic brother. As the mother of an adult autistic son, I am happy to say that the author has clearly done a lot of research and demonstrated a lot of respect for her subjects.

The closure she didn't know she needed from her mother was heart-wrenching in its honesty. Made me think maybe I should be writing letters to my daughters as well.

This was a terrific read, perfect for anyone who loves opposites-attract romances, and an absolutely essential read for anyone who has read the earlier books. Each one is a standalone with its own HEA, and I can't recommend them enough. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Maybe We Won't is book three in the Silver Harbor series which is part of the bigger world of Love in Bloom. This is Deidra's story.

Deirdra de Messiéres is the hard working, some would say workaholic whose come home to Silver Island after being passed over for a well-deserved promotion. She figured she'll take a two month hiatis and her boss will be so lost without her that she'll be back to the grind in no time. Little does she know what the universe has in store for her. It's time for her to finally face the painful past and deal with the turmoil caused by her alcoholic mother. Silver Island may not be where she wants to be, but it may be what she needs and a reminder of who she is and how much love there is from her sisters and the island family.
Josiah “Jagger” Jones, the Bistro’s chef and resident musician sees more than you think. He's super chill and happily meanders where life takes him. And he sees the Didi in Deirdra that Ava would talk about. Now his goal is to remind her of Didi and break down the walls. With each passing day she becomes more free and they grow closer together. Their definition of their fling quickly morphs into more than they were expecting. And the past threatens to demolish their easy flow. Didi has to decide if she's willing to become who she was meant to be or if her determination to work the hardest will win over all else.

Jagger and Deirdra are opposites attract perfection! Their story is all about healing and letting your walls down to let love in.

Melissa Foster writes THE best book boyfriends! Jagger Jones is down to earth, swoony, and full of surprises. The way he helps Didi to deal with her emotions about the past is nothing short of amazing. He's not just the laid back hippie that she thought.

Deirda has been living her life to forget her past and to prove she's not like her mother. But in doing so, she loses the carefree girl she once was. Working a million hours a week can only help for so long. When she stops fighting the connection with Jagger and let's loose, she discovers a new kind of happiness. A more fulfilling kind.

I just love these two so much! I haven't smiled reading a book that much in a long time! The connection between Jagger and Didi is so beautiful. There's so much to love about this book from their adventures together, to Jagger's love for his brother and Deirdra strengthening her bonds with her sisters. I can't recommend this book and the whole series enough!

Melissa does a wonderful job with tough topics as well. In this book Gabe, Jagger's brother, has autism. She writes about it perfectly.

I received an ARC for an honest review.

After being passed over for a promotion, Boston attorney Deirdra de Messiéres decides to head home to see her two sisters on Silver Island. Yet when she meets Josiah “Jagger” Jones, who is a musician and chef at her parent’s family restaurant, she begins to question what her priorities are. She is determined to fight her attraction to Jagger, finding his laid-back approach in total opposition to her workaholic nature. Jagger has also faced his own battles and believes that he is the one person, who can make Deirdra face her past and look forward to a brighter future, possibly with him. As they spend time together, Deirdra soon lets down her guard and before long, wonders what her true goal is, a career or a life filled with love and adventure?
This book really does explore the notion that opposites do attract. At first, it seemed that Jagger was just too different for Deirdra to contemplate as someone who she could have a relationship with. Then it seem that it might be superficial yet Jagger’s gentle nature and kindness, are the true characteristics that would make someone like Deirdra fall in love with. The complexity of the book lies in the added elements, where topics such as autism as well as sourcing local foods with the farm to table concept. Overall, an engaging read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
