Risky by Aurora Rose Reynolds is the second novel in her Adventures in Love series. The novel follows the romantic journey of Everly—a single mom that just moved to town and Blake—her grumpy new boss at Live Life Adventures. The novel gives readers the perfect balance of romance with a little bit of conflict thrown in. If you haven’t read the Adventures in Love series by Aurora Rose Reynolds—check them out—along with all of her other novels.

DNF @ 60% ish.
I liked the blurb and I liked the previous book in the Adventures in Love series. However, I didn't feel the chemistry between them. One day they share a brief kiss and later they share another one and somehow they are now in a relationship taking trips together. Not to mention, he is her boss so this was even more awkward because the pacing of their relationship wasn't smooth. It just began... without much flirting or anything.
Everly's kid is way too progressed for his age, I think. Basically running and talking. I'm not sure but I feel like 10-month-olds are still basically babies???

Risky is the second book in the Adventures in Love series, and is Everly and Blakes story. This is a sweet, slow burn romance, with grumpy-sunshine and single parent tropes and two great leading characters. Blake really brings the grumpy, but Everly is his perfect sunshine match. I really enjoyed Risky and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

This book is a breath of fresh air. The romance was so mature, real and touching.
Everly and Blake have become a favorite couple to me, their chemistry was natural and effortless. I also loved the development of their relationship, although the book was kind of short, the sequence of their story was done really well. And, I'm super thankful to the author for not writing the "mandatory" push and pull, that everyone is obsessed with right now.
That being said, there were a few points that prevented this book becoming a five-star read, which are:
>> The beginning of the book needed more expanding. The backstory of how Everly became a single mom, and how much of a deadbeat her ex was, needed to be much more explained, it felt super rushed.
>> Lex's character. He was extremely one dimensional, he almost felt like a robot delivering his lines. I'm supposed to hate him as a character, and feel anger towards him. Instead, I merely felt frustrated because of how monotonous his character was.
>> The baby talking way too early. Everly's kid, Samson, is supposed to be 10 month old, however, he could literally pronounce complete words, which isn't the norm for his age. Also, the way he kept saying Da and baba whenever he saw Blake was weird, a kid his age wouldn't be calling someone his dad even if he felt close to him, especially since no one was teaching him how to. Extremely far fetched.
But, overall, I really loved the book, I was quite sad when it ended because I wanted to read more of Blake and Everly's story.

Hello
Apologies for the late notice, but I have decided not to review this title. While I am certain it's obvious by now, I wanted to also clear this off NetGalley, so it's not showing as open for either of us.
I look forward to continuing to work with you in 2023 and beyond.

The second instalment in the #adventuresinlove series sees single Mom Everley unexpectedly moving back in with her parents after her son’s father makes it clear he isn’t interested in having a family. She is determined to be able to provide for Samson and gets an office manager job at Live Life Adventures. She has 3 bosses, but one of them; Blake, seems to have an issue with Everley. Ergo, begins the enemies to lovers trope.

I really enjoyed this book; just as I did the first one last year. Super easy to read and the characters are loveable. There’s not a whole lot of diversity but it’s an easy to read, little steamy chick lit. Just what I needed to finish my 2022.

This is the second book in this series and features Blake and Everly.

We met Blake in the previous book and he was a bit of a grump and with his story we find out why and honestly i wanted to hug him. He has had a huge burden placed on his shoulders and I honestly just wanted to hug him.

When he meets Everly he starts to come alive again. Even though he starts off a bit grumpy with Everly she soon worms her way into his heart along with her cute son Sampson. They were perfect together and the chemistry was off the charts hot.

ARR has written a beautiful story filled with romance, passion, love, friendship and humor. She is the absolute Queen of Insta romances.

3.5⭑

Tropes;
Single Mom
Boss/Employee Romance
Small Town Romance
Dual POV

This was an adorable book and it quenched my thirst for a single mom romance. All the moments between Blake and baby Sampson were everything I was wanting and more.

The romance between Blake and Everly was also super cute but also a bit lack lustre? They’re just a bit boring together? There wasn’t much back and forth pull between them and seemed a bit too insta love for my liking.

With that being said though, I still enjoyed it for it being a 200- something page book!

Another great love story by Mrs. Reynolds!! I have loved all this authors books since her debut and this one is another great one!

Blake and Everly’s story was another sweet romance that keeps you interested without all the unneeded drama and what not. Though, a little drama is what makes some main characters realize their feelings.

I loved getting to see Blake turn from a huge grump to a well loved hero!! Everly was effect for him and I can’t wait to get more from this series!!

“She’s woken up something inside me I didn’t know was asleep, emotions I forgot I even had—happiness, protectiveness, jealousy, excitement.”
💕
It’s been awhile since I last read a book from Aurora and when I saw the blurb I was like: “I can’t pass this single mom story!”. And I couldn’t be happier. Her stories always bring lots of emotions, some angst, steamy and sometimes some suspense.

Everly and her newborn son, Sampson just moved to her parents place after a bad breakup with her ex and Sam’s sperm donor. I mean her ex and his family, through the story proved to be so awful, I was just so happy that she moved on and found Blake. But of course, nothing was that easy.

Blake is grumpy and prickly, due to a lot of things, especially because of his family secrets, but when Everly starts working for him in his business, something instantly changed. They were both so attracted to each other, but I could totally understand their reasons to stay apart from one another, most of all, Everly. She had someone else to protect, her wonderful baby boy, and her heart.

But Blake once he lets go of his fears, he gives her all the reassurance and love of the world. I’m totally in love with this couple and through the twist I was left with my heart in my hand. Talk about romance angst hehe. A totally must read story.

While this is the second book in the series, it can be read as a stand-alone with no issues whatsoever ever. Everly and Blake were everything and her ex is terrible. I really appreciated while there is ‘drama’ it wasn’t crazy with it

Risky is the second book in the Adventures in Love series by Aurora Rose Reynolds, but the books can be read as standalone's with no trouble. The series is based on three ex-military men who started a business, Live Life Adventures, together which offers tours in the Montana wilderness. This is Blake and Everly’s story.
Everly returned home as a single mom after her boyfriend wanted nothing to do with her or their son. She must start over and make a new life for herself and her son, Sam. Finding a job working at Live Life Adventures was perfect if she didn’t have to deal with Blake her grumpy boss.
Blake was keeping his dad’s secret from his mother and father and the burden was destroying him. Between keeping secrets and the pressure from the resort, he was grumpier than normal. He didn’t like his partners hiring Everly without consulting him, especially since he was so attracted to her. Can he keep his distance from Everly and her cute son Sam or will he give into his attraction and make her his?
I have really enjoyed this series and I think this is my favorite so far. I always love a good grumpy hero and Blake fulfilled that character role perfectly. I loved watching his soft side come out in his interactions with Sam. It was just too adorable. I cannot wait for Mav’s book which will be next.

Another great read by this author. I haven't found any of her book's I don't like yet. This one was so addictive and had a fantastic storyline to it. The characters were amazing. I literally loved the whole thing.

I am loving the Adventures in Love series by ARR. Sweet romance with a few surprises tucked in here and there, but all with romance tropes I love.

Summary:
Everly thought she had found the man of her dreams. He ticked every box she had, and her future looked very bright. But things started falling apart when she found out she was pregnant. She knew things were well and truly over after Sampson was born and the man she loved grew more and more distant. Now, she’s back living with her parents, and trying to figure out her next move. Whatever that move is, her son’s welfare will be priority, and her sexy, irritable new boss won’t factor. Unfortunately, Blake is hard to ignore, though. Especially when he doesn’t make the effort to ignore her in return. Spending time together only makes the chemistry sizzle more between them. She also sees another side to the grumpy man she’s beginning to realize she could fall for. And Blake has his own family issues to work through. Is their growing love worth the risk?

Blake and Everly’s story was another sweet romance with deeper feeling and lovely characters. To be honest, I wasn’t looking forward to Blake’s story because he was such a jerk in book one of the series. I’m so happy we got his story next, though, because there were reasons for his behavior in the previous book. Blake was obviously a great guy. He served his country, was close to his friends, and cared deeply for his family. I hated that he felt so trapped by the situation he was put in and then took that anger and hurt out on his loved ones, but I was very glad to have the behavior explained. Everly was a really sweet, kind, hard-working, and determined heroine. I think she saw her life going in a different direction than she actually found herself, but she didn’t let that stop her from providing a loving and safe environment for her son. As a couple, Blake and Everly had a sort of enemies/friends-to-lovers vibe going as well as the in-love-with-the-boss thing going. I loved that they both felt an immediate attraction to the other upon meeting but tried to fight it a bit. It made it a little more interesting. Their scenes were sexy, sweet, and I loved the patience and gentleness that Blake gave Everly moving forward. There was no rush, and he knew she was a package deal. Overall, I really enjoyed the read. The storyline flowed well, and I thought the obstacles Blake and Everly had to overcome brought them even closer together. The supporting cast is always a treat when it comes to ARR’s books. I loved catching up with Tanner and Cybil, and we also got to meet and get to know Blake’s family. I loved Margret in book one, so I was happy to see more of her here, and even some of Mason. Risky was a quick read, but very fulfilling. I loved seeing deeper into Blake and seeing him open up to Everly and vice versa. I’m more than looking forward to book three and seeing the sassy Jade find her own romance. ♡

Short and sugary sweet. Everly is determined to make things happen for her and her son when she finds herself single and back home living with her parents. She just didn't think it would be with her broody, but sexy boss lol. Great chemistry. Good read.

Blake and Everly's story was so sweet and romantic. This author has a knack for keeping you interested in a story without overdoing the drama. There's a little drama, but just enough to keep things interesting while seeing them fall in love and be together. I fell in love with Blake, he was such an amazing guy. And Evelyn was such a strong and amazing heroine. I really enjoyed this book, and I'm looking forward to reading the next one, Reckless.

People, Aurora Rose Reynolds has done it yet again. I was so invested with Everly's story from the 1st page. Aurora gave us a mom that loved her son so much that she was brave enough to become a single mum.
Blake our very own is such a teddy bear when it comes to Sam. These two were like meant to be father and son. I loved how Blake treated him as his blood.
Everly and Blake have amazing family so you can't expect them not be the best kind of humans.
I loved the banter in this book. I loved the way Blake loved Sam and Everly. I loved how his family accepted like she always belonged there.

This was a quick Fluffy read that sometimes really hurt your heart. This book was beautifully written with a mixture of all that we have come to love about Aurora Rose Reynolds books.

The story has laughs, secrets, pain, and heartbreak.

The below are part of this series if you want to read those books(s) first
Rushed (Adventures in Love #1)

This is Everly and Blake's story. Everly is living with her parents after becoming a single mother. She is still dealing with the ex and needs work. So, she gets hired at the lodge and is drawn to Blake, but he is a grumpy bear. That is until he meets her son then he seems to melt. They want each other but both have a lot going on. Both of them have secrets but when all the secrets come out will they be stronger, or will it tear them apart? After the hard time he gave one of the other guys from work for falling for a client how is he going to explain him and Everly? Can they have a future? Is it a risk they are both willing to take?

I highly recommend this book.
