A great read.
Everly and Blake don't get off to the best of starts, but as he spends time with her young son, will she see how great he is and give him a chance
Can't wait for the rest of this series.
"Risky" is the second book in the "Adventures in Love" series by Aurora Rose Reynolds. In this book, Everly is a single mom whose relationship has come to an end once the baby's father insists on having nothing to do with little Sam. She never expected to move back home with her parents, but she has no choice. However, she wants to do what's best for her son, and so she gets a job. At her job, she meets her grumpy boss, Blake. In the classic trope of "hard on the outside but soft on the inside", she gets to see who Blake really is: a loving family man. Along the way, sparks begin to fly and sweet relationship forms.
I enjoyed the importance this book placed on family, and I even enjoyed the peripheral characters. This was a sweet book, and enjoyable to read during the hustle and bustle of the holidays. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
I was so excited when this book was available to read early. I enjoyed the first book in the series and the second book isn’t any different. This was a grumpy sunshine trope. What I enjoyed was everything was sweet and there was no dramatic scene or issue like in most books.
I received this ARC through #netgalley and I am voluntarily reviewing this book
This was just perfectly sweet and sexy! Single mom, grumpy mountaineer, chance meeting and instant sparks. Then, worlds thrown together, and those sparks feel like a misfire on the outside, but inside, firing on all cylinders. He gets it first, she is quick to follow. Life isn’t simple and there are some external drama issues to work out, but these two click on an emotional and intellectual level, as well chemical. Lots of good family around, a cute baby, and a wonderful love story<3
5 out of 5 Stars
Thank You NetGalley for my ARC!
Risky is book 2 in the Adventures in Love Series. I really enjoyed Risky and can't wait to continue with the series. I loved Everly, Blake and Sam.
We met Blake in the last book and he left a sour taste in our mouth, I thought he was a jerk and he started off that way, but boy did her change his ways and when we read why he was that way, not that that justified his behavior but we kind of understood why he was acting out. Blake turned out to be a big sweetheart in my eyes and I ended up loooooving him and so happy that he met Everly and she could not have done any better, especially after the dirtbag that she had previously. I also that she was too good of a person, because if my in-laws would have done or said what they did, I do not think I what have even bothered to listen to them, but she did, so again way better person than me.. Can't wait for next book...
Blake and Everly's story is another sweet, romantic book in the Aventures in Love series. Sometimes the sweet stories can come off a bit dull, but I have found that this author just really knows how to keep you interested without adding a ton of drama to the story. There is some drama, but the right amount that keeps things interesting while still seeing a couple fall in love and actually see them together. On top of that, I'm such a fan of the gentlemen heroes. Blake, while being grumpy in the beginning, turned out to be such a sweet guy. I loved how he takes care of those he loves. Risky was an easy read and really just made me smile.
Thoroughly enjoyed reading this book in a wonderful series by Ms Reynolds. It had a bit of everything from adventure to drama, everything needed to create a good story. I can’t wait for the next book now.
Love can be risky, but it can be worth the risk if you're willing to take it. Everly is a strong, single mom that devotes her life to her son. I admired her strength and resilience in pushing forward and making a life for her and Sampson. Blake is broody and closed off which made me just love him more. When she applies for a job at Blake's wilderness tour business she's instantly attracted to him even more than their first meeting. I kept rooting for them to commit to their relationship and become a family. I feel like the story could have more development in their relationship, it's on the sweet vs sexier side of romance. It's a lower angst, sweeter read that will melt your heart!
When I think of romance, I think of books just like this one, that gives all the feels and satisfies every romance junkies' heart. This is a perfect books to snuggle up with on any day. I going to go find book one.
Very quick read. Everly has seen a great deal of sadness. She fell quickly in love and when she found out she was pregnant, she hoped Lex would come around. But Lex wants nothing to do with her or her son Sampson. So Everly moves back home with her son.
It takes her a bit but she finds a job and one of the owners of the business Blake catches her eye. Blake tries to avoid Everly because he doesn’t like how she makes him feel.
Will Blake and Everly give each other a chance? How will Everly handle Lex’s parents desire to see Sampson?
Enjoyed this story and read it in one day. Thank you to Netgalley for complimentary copy.
This was a very warm happy read. Couldn't put it down until I finished it.
Everly, Blake and Sam - cute family.
Everly - strong mama, Blake - Mr. Grumpy Pants 🤣 and Sam - adorable baby.
The story was very interesting and would definitely go into my read again list!
Looking forward to more in this series.
Blake is a character I needed to know more about. In the first book of this series we see Blake and how he hates change and loves to work. I was so happy we were getting his story cause he truly needed a woman to make him see there is more to life and that is what exactly Everly does. The growth of these two character both individually and as a couple was truly outstanding and Aurora made me fall in love with Blake and root for his HEA. I cant wait for this next book in the series.
When Everly gets a job with an outdoor adventure company, she and Blake, one of the owners, butt heads immediately. Then the sparks start flying! Blake shows how special he could be when he supports Everly against her son’s paternal grandparents and how he supports his Dad. I loved the family theme throughout this story and could not put this story down.
So I love me some Aurora Rose Reynolds books , I was a big fan of the Fluke my life series. This series is no different . Blake the rough and tough grumpy ex marine and everly the sweet single mom. Wow they are the perfect leading characters. I love how the men in Auroras books know what they want and they don’t give up till they get there women.
These series are such a refreshing change to the stories with big drama in them and big huge breakups . These are real life couples , something you could see your friend going through. Now I can’t wait till Mav’s book !!!
Thank you Aurora Rose Reynolds for this ARC . And thank you NetGalley for allowing me to review this
Thank you to @netgalley for allowing me to read and review this copy!
Risky had a cute concept of romance, love, and the challenges that come with allowing yourself to love. I love everything romantic, but I couldn’t find it in me to love this book.
I found that it started off immediately without much of an introduction, and if one was made, it was really quick and didn’t have the full effect. While the readers are still adjusting to the story, the romance between the two main characters starts off rapidly and creates a relationship without much chemistry. It was rather underwhelming regarding the romance, and it felt kind of unrealistic in my opinion.
I loved the concept of the story, though! I was intrigued by it immediately and there were instances where I started to actually like where the story was going. But the plot seemed to be going fast, leaving no time for situations to develop or to be solved. The concept wasn’t represented well, and it created a feeling of lack regarding the book.
I really tried to like this book, I really did, but everything was moving a bit too fast to allow the reader to make a connection with the characters and the story.
But, if you’re one who loves insta-love tropes, romance, and a bit of drama I would recommend Risky to you!
My rating: 1.5/5
Oh my I really loved Everly and Blake‘s story! It was sweet, steamy and emotional.
After her ex didn‘t want to be in the life of his son, Everly moves back home and starts a new job as office manager for Live Life Adventures. Where she meets Blake for the second time in a few days. After the initial shock and seeming like an enemies to lovers romance Blake and Everly spend alot of time together, with not only her son getting attached to the handsome adventurist.
I just love a story like that. Especially if it involved a suuuuper cute little boy and so many cute scenes between Blake and Sampson!

Aurora Rose Reynolds has done it again with another great read. I’m already loving this series and think I like the second book better than the first. I loved Blake and Everly together.
This is book 2 in the series and is a stand alone book. While it has recurring characters from the first book, Blake and Everly, are more featured in this story so we know who they are. Blake we met in the previous book, he owns his own adventure company with his two best friends. He is a bit on the grouchy side.
Everly is a new character and is back home getting help with her 11 month old child from her family. She gets a job working at Blake's business. Her son Sam falls hard for Blake and he falls for both mom and son in this story.
Everly was dumped by her ex when she fell pregnant. When she goes home, she still has to deal with him and I loved how Blake ends up supporting her and falling for both mom and child.
This was an awesome story and I totally adored Blake. and how awesome he was to Everly. Everly was such a strong person and mom to her son that I loved her strength and how hard she fough for her child. I also really adored the supporting cast in this story and I would love a story featuring Mason.
This book was great, it had everything I love about small town romances. Fun side characters, dogs, family dynamics that make you laugh and cry, and a cute little kiddo! I haven't read the first book, but I'm definitely going to go back and read it. Also very excited for Mav's story....with Ozzie? Wish there was more information for the rest of the series!
