The song that moves the sun is a brilliantly written story that melds the past with the future and deals with mental health disorders that we all face.

Rora and Claudia are best friends and become even closer after Rora’s brother Jack is sent to live with his grandparents. They realize something weird is going on with earth and the trauma that Rora is experiencing is making her anxiety extreme. She leans on music to fix herself.

Amir and Major are from other planets all together and come to earth to see if they can find the music that can fix it what is happening not only in earth but in their planets as well.

They meet Rora and Claudia by chance and all of their lives take a different course from this moment on. The music fixes Rora it makes her feel balanced but can it fix everything else also?

This story is a wonderful tale of friendship and strength and struggle and what it means to be in love as a young adult.

I highly recommend you check this book out if you live a good YA book with a little romance.

This book was really interesting and entertaining. I quite loved and enjoyed it. But, what I really loved was the word building and how fast paced it was. I didn’t felt not connected with this book at all. So, all in all, a full 5 stars read for me.

This book had an interesting concept in regards to balance, history, astrology...it was a fun journey as the reader follows the experiences of multiple characters throughout.

I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I loved the concept of astrological magic as well as the premise of this story, where space and time are toyed with.

The pacing of this book is very fast, and this is a delightful read!

I look forward to the second book in this duology.

I would really like to thank Netgalley for allowing me to review The Song That Moves the Sun by Anna Bright!

This book is loosely based around the lives of Dante Alighieri, Beatrice Portinari and Marco Polo and each of their respective contributions to history. It also follows two characters from current day who get swept up in an adventure so far out of their comfort zone that it's difficult for them to wrap their heads around it.

The plot of the book explores the ideas that there are connections between astrology and planets where each sign would feel more at home in. And this harmony has slowly managed to lose its balance, affecting life and climate throughout the solar system. The story is told from multiple points of view and shows each of the characters' own struggles with reconciling what they're exploring and how it affects their own personal issues that they have.

I really enjoyed this book as it looks at fears and doubts and imbalances in a very soft way and inevitably shows that balance is the best way to live a full life. It shows that life does need the ups and the downs, and it's important to celebrate all of them but to not get caught up in either extreme. The one thing that felt a little bit off was the way that the characters were pulled into their adventure. It felt a little bit too "instalove-y", but in the end the connections between the characters were justified.

All in all, this book is a great read, packed full of adrenaline and interesting world building. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who has read Zodiac by Romina Russell as well as anyone who liked Lore by Alexandra Bracken!

The thing that struck me most about this book is the tone. It reminds me a lot of old science fiction, where what we now know about space didn't really apply. It straddles the line between magic and sci-fi in the best way. It's not for everyone, but if you like your fantasy a little different, this might be the one for you!
