This adorable little book tells the story of a whale who helps a boy and then a boy who helps a whale. It's a simple and endearing story that teaches a lesson. I like how it makes it simple that when we pollute we hurt the many kind animals in the ocean. I'd easily choose to use this book to introduce a unit on the importance of reducing our trash or the dangers of pollution. The photos are charming and the little boy is relatable and adorable. A cute book overall!

This is the perfect picture book for little pint sized conservationists. Or, you know, kids with hearts. I love you, Blue!

Loved this book and plan to use it as part of my kindergarten science curriculum! An adorable story of a little sailor who loves to explore the ocean. A strong storm catches the sailor off guard and they are saved by a whale. Later, the sailor saves the whale and they become ocean pals. This book addresses the importance of recycling and keeping plastic out of our oceans in a way that children can easily understand.

Such a simple message and beautiful book. The illustrations are lovely and match perfectly. The book is perfect to help little ones get the message of saving our oceans. We need more books like this that help spread the message of saving our planet, because everyone can do something to help.

This is a sweet story which reminded me of the movie The Water Horse. The boy’s love for the whale is very similar. An important message to protect the creatures in the ocean and reduce our individual use of plastic. The illustrations are super minimal and cute. The whale’s face in the story is made of two dots for eyes and a line that curves only a little to make a smile — adorable.

This book was so sweet. It was such a good way to introduce kids to a real problem in the world (and I love the information at the end about how to help the oceans and whales for kids who are inspired by the story). The art was beautiful, as well. My biggest critique, which isn't even that big, is that it was a little bit hard to tell the difference between the narrator and blue's dialogue.

I Love You, Blue is illustrated with beautiful watercolors and tells the story of a boy who befriends a whale. He discovers the whale is sick from all of the undigestible plastic bags in his stomach, which the boy removes and the whale feels immediately better. At the end of the story are some notes about the dangers of plastic for sea creatures, steps to reduce plastic usage, and ways to volunteer to help. A lovely little story to make children think about the long-term impact of things they do today and how to be better citizens of the world.
