A really beautiful Regency romance, with an interesting mix of enemies-to-lovers / friends-to-lovers elements. A beautiful writing style with a perfect balance of details and descriptions that will draw you in from the very beginning.
The characters are carefully constructed, so realistic and yet unique at the same time.
Warm recommendation for all fans of this genre. And if you haven't read this type of romance yet, this one is a great one to start with.
Have been unable to review due to illness. Review coming soon! This novel looks fantastic and what a beautiful cover! Am sure to like this!
Tiffany Odekirk did a great job with her first Regency novel. I started reading late one night and stayed up way too long soaking it in. The characters were well developed and I really felt for Hannah. An invitation to spend the summer with family friends seemed like it would give her the happily ever after her heart desired, but things did not go as planned. This was an enjoyable read and I’m looking forward to more from this author.
I put this book off in favor of reading some others first, but now am wishing I hadn't. This book was light and warm and funny and descriptive. The plot played out as you would expect of a regency romance, but you'll be smiling the whole time.
I really enjoyed this author's foray into historical fiction (Regency?) but apparently still keeping with the Jennings ancestors (I think?) from her earlier, contemporary books. Tiffany Odekirk has such a way of crafting her story and weaving all the characters and their emotions together, as well as setting up the plot and setting to draw the reader in. I loved how she moved the setting from London to the country and also the interactions Hannah has with both brothers, at times leaving me guessing as to who she was really going to end up with! I also loved how she explained all the things that happened between the characters from their youth in a different light as adults. The story flows well, with humor, beautiful scenery, witty dialogue, and so much more! Since the first book of this author's that I read, when I see she has a book coming out, I automatically add it to my to-be-read list!
Content: Clean romance
This was a clean story with well developed characters. I really liked this book. I wanted to read more.
What a perfectly wonderful romantic regency Summerhaven is! I enjoyed this story so much and I will definitely be looking to read more of Tiffany Odekirk’s stories! I’m not usually a fan of hate to love romance, but this one is done so well and when there is an added pretend relationship, I’m all in! In my opinion, Damon stole the show! I loved the way he bantered with Hannah and his explanations behind all of the things he did to her when they were young. I did feel like towards the end of the story things between Hannah and the two brothers went on a bit long without resolution. I was more than ready for the HEA!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley. All opinions are my own.
3 stars
This book is a light enemy to lovers' regency romance from the perspective of Hannah. She has been in mourning for the past two years following the death of her mother. When a surprising letter comes inviting her to spend the summer at a country home, Summerhaven. Hannah is both beyond excited to revisit the place where she spent the summers with her mother and childhood friends Oliver and Damon. Hoping to reconnect with Oliver and now that they are grown, they can move from friends to something more. However, his brother will also be there, who always found the chance to torment her. so, she must find a way to tolerate him if he is to become family and to survive the social season
This story was ok, it has a very pg age feel to it. It was sweet and had a lot of summery romantic vibes. Hannah came off as very naive and foolish sometimes, but she was navigating the social seasons by herself as well as kept in the dark about several social expectations. The character Oliver drove me crazy. I very much disliked him, he came off as very childish, lying and at times he was very much a bully. This story was slow-paced. I liked the banter and back and forth between Hannah and one of the love interests, it was funny and very entertaining. A lot of the storyline is built on miscommunication between several characters, there is no real drama or devastating events but more of enlightenment and growing up story.
Overall, this book was a nice story, romantic but missing some elements that I enjoy in my romance, but a fast light read which would be great if that is what you are looking for.
I received this advanced ebook, via Netgalley. This review is my own honest opinion.
***4.5 stars***
Tiffany Odekirk has created her first Regency romance. I enjoyed her contemporary novels and was very excited to read Summerhaven. This story did not disappoint. The plot is established and plausible.
Hannah was excited to visit Summerhaven. She spends many idyllic summers there as a child. She longs to rekindle her romance with Oliver. Their mothers plotted to have them marry as adults and Hannah is anxious to make it happen. Unfortunately, Oliver is not the same as the boy she spent her youth with. His older brother, Damon, was her nemesis. He teased her and tormented her. But he has a plan to foil his father's designs to have him marry and make Oliver jealous and help remind Oliver of his feelings for her.
Fortunately (for me), she starts to realize Damon's charms. He is no longer the boy who loved to tease her. He is handsome and considerate. A friendship of convenience leads to a very interesting story. At one point she considered him to be her enemy. An enemies-to-lovers story is always a lot of fun.
This story was everything that I hoped it would be. I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to more Regency stories from the author.

Thanks to Netgalley for a copy of this book for an honest review.
Absolutely loved it... read it in one sitting because it just pulled me into the story.
I absolutely loved this book! Everything about it was better than I had expected. I was drawn into the story from the first page and found myself grinning my way through to the last page. Tiffany Odekirk has written a genuinely heartfelt story about a young girl's journey to discover who she was and the man who made sure she always had someone who believed in her. Hannah and Damon were truly magnificent. I adored the chemistry between them and how their relationship developed over time.
I also loved how much life Odekirk gave to her side characters and how well we got to see them grow. I think the one thing holding me back from five stars is how the book seemed to drag a little right before the end. The complication felt a little too drawn out, and the end came too soon. I wish we'd got to see more of Damon and Hannah together at the end.
I loved this book for what it was and feel very glad to have had the opportunity to read it.
The publisher kindly provided ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
I adore Tiffany's novels and this one was thoroughly Captivating. I applaud her seamless transition from contemporary into historical as I found she adapted well to the period this one was set in. I can't wait to read more by her in the future. Summerhaven is a beautifully rendered work of art which I will treasure always. Summerhaven the place is a setting i can only dream of visiting.
I really enjoyed reading Summerhaven, and I was truly impressed with Tiffany’s writing. I felt like Tiffany did an amazing job with both Damon and Oliver. Their character progression, or digression as the case may be, was really well done.
The first person narrative was necessary for that to have been as successful as it was. We got to see both brothers only through Hannah’s eyes. The reader’s understanding grew as Hannah’s memories shifted and grew, and those revelations were brilliantly done.
With that, I felt like Hannah should have shifted and grew from her experiences along with us. However I found her to be frequently making decisions that didn’t make sense. It almost felt like her character integrity was sacrificed for the sake of the plot.
The story was really cute and I was wholly invested in the brothers. I can’t wait to see where the author goes with Oliver in her next book. I just couldn’t get one hundred percent behind Hannah’s character development.
What an absolutely wonderful Regency romance! Hannah spent much of the first half of the story hoping to remind Ollie, her childhood friend, of his promise to marry her one day. She had built up many ideas in her mind about the way their lives would be once they were happily married. Yet, Ollie did not seem to share her devotion. There were some hard lessons to learn and some uncomfortable situations for Hannah as she navigated her visit to Summerhaven.
Yet, what was beautiful, was actually seeing Damon’s devotion to Hannah and learning more about their childhood time together from his perspective. What a swoony hero! I loved seeing these two together. Damon brought out the strong and playful side of Hannah and their times together were my absolute favorites.
I loved the way this author was able to pull my emotions all over the place and make me wonder how things were ever going to work out! This novel is now one of my favorite Regency romances and I hope that this author will write more books in this genre.

I adored this book! Childhood promises bring Hannah to accept an invitation to the family estate of Oliver, the man she expects to marry after years apart. The only down side is that brings his brother Damon back into her life as well. Her memories of Damon center around his teasing and juvenile antics. Still, with marriage on the horizon, Hannah is determined to make it work.
One problem very quickly crops up. Oliver seems happy to have his friend back, but he's also happily romancing someone else.
What's a girl to do?
Hannah and Damon decide that a little team work may be just the thing to turn Oliver's head back around and give Damon some breathing room from his matchmaking mama for a while. Hilarity and mayhem ensue.
I knew that Hannah in this book was a kindred spirit from the very first chapter. I loved how she loved to read. She wanted to think and to know things. And she wanted to marry Ollie, the boy she fell in love with as a girl.
I felt for Hannah as things were confusing to her when she got to Summerhaven. Things with Ollie were not the same. And Damon was different as well. Fake relationships are one of my favorite tropes, so when Damon convinces Hannah to pretend to court him, I loved it!
Hannah goes on a discovery of herself in this book. And that was one of my favorite things. She learns what love is. And she learns that she won’t be happy without it. I loved how she learned about friendship as well.
There are so many great things about this book! You need to read it!
Oh this was just a beautiful love story! And sort of a love triangle…sort of! You will have to read it to find out! It is adorable and swooniful! So much fun with lots of details and characters that make a book like this a delight! Enjoy!
Lately, I have to really be in the mood for a Regency story to get completely swept away but this beautiful book cover and title drew me in instantly.
I enjoyed the premise of this story and the characters as well. The love triangle between siblings always makes me a little nervous because that’s family and I hate to see one brother pitted against another one. However, I felt like the story was done well to where I ended up happy and satisfied with how things played out.
If you are a Regency fan, I’d definitely put this one on your TBR list. It gave me Edenbrooke vibes although it didn’t have as much humor and lightheartedness. All in all, it was a sweet story.
Enjoyable Regency. The author has done some amazing contemporary novels and her debut into regency definitely hit the spot.. So many twists, so much indecision . Great, slow burn, twist on best-friend's-brother trope.
I also love that this story is a "family historical fiction" that relates.to her contemporary series about the Jennings family. It's a complete stand-alone, and you do not need to have read the author's previous books. I just enjoy the cinnection and depth it adds to the previous series that I enjoyed so much.
This is one of the best Regency books I’ve ever read! I. Loved. It. ((Sigh))
Where do I begin? This had all my favorites which are:
• Well delivered angst.
• Swooning chemistry.
• Romance with long glances and heart stopping shared moments.
• An honorable man and a strong, adorably honest women with her passions about life.
I simply couldn’t put it down. I smiled and I laughed and yes I worried. I even held my breath a few times. And it was all enjoyable. I absolutely loved the connection these two shared. It was precious. Tiffany Odekirk is my new favorite author. I can’t wait for her next read. Thank you for writing this wonderful story. I highly recommend it.
