A cowboy romance was just what I needed! The characters in this book are the people I want to be neighbors with, and the love story is just so sweet. This is a feel good romance that was so fun to listen to and get lost in. There is some romance cheesiness, but sometimes that is exactly what I want. If you are looking for a sweet, cowboy romance - I highly recommend this audiobook!

Texas Homecoming AUDIO version by Carolyn Brown finds a huge Texas blizzard ravaging the area, leaving Cody Ryan and is high school girlfriend, Stevie trapped in a tack room to wait out the storm. Cody is a concierge doctor who spends him time making house calls and Stevie is a vet who also makes house calls. Both have been home a very short period of time. Stevie; her mother had cancer and subsequently died, and Cody came home from is Doctors Without Borders assignment o spend time with his father who has been diagnosed with MS. Stevie has a brand newborn baby alpaca with her in the van when her van gets two flat tires. She quickly discovers that Cody ran his truck into a ditch. Here they are. It actually works well for the four days or so that they are marooned. They start getting to know each other again.

Poor Stevie. She is in the middle of a run of bad luck. This is a second chance romance, but second chances don't come easy. They are rescued by Colt's brother and taken to Sunflower Ranch as the roads to town are still closed. There, Stevie becomes part of the family. Then, she is offered a job in Australia and coincidentally, Colt is offered a job at a hospital in Africa. Decisions need to be made. This is a totally feel good novel with a happily-ever-after. It's not a complicated plot, but there are some surprises. Colt and Stevie are both good characters and the Ryan
family are all more than likable. It loved listening to it.

The narrator was Chelsea Hatfield and she was perfect for this book. She had an easy voice and read without annoying pauses or weird voices. I liked her.

I was invited to listen to a recoding of this book by Hachette Audio, through Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine. #netgalley #hachetteaudio #carolynbrown #texashomecoming.

I love re-visiting Sunflower Ranch! I devoured the audiobook for this book in one day and can't wait for the next installment in The Ryan Family series.

This sweet romance is all about second chances and the love of family. My heart broke for both Stevie and Cody throughout the book, but I appreciate when a character is brutally honest and doesn't play mind games, so this was a pleasant surprise for me.

If you love cowboys, strong female lead, doctors, or animals - this book has something for everyone. While this is part of a series, this can be read as a stand alone, although fair warning, you might want to relocate to a ranch after reading this one, lol.

This was a super fun cowboy romance by Carolyn Brown.

Cody Ryan has been away from home helping doctor's without borders but has recently returned to help his family after his father's health takes a turn. He is making house calls to a local resident when he gets trapped in an unusual Texas snow storm and his truck veers into a ditch. He takes shelter in a barn near him and is surprised when local vet (and his former girlfriend) Stephanie O'Dell shows up at the same barn also needing shelter from the storm. As they find themselves trapped together, old feelings surface and new flames are ignited.

This was a fun forced proximity, second chance romance story. As a Texas girl myself I loved all the home-state references. While it was fun to see Cody and Stevie stuck in the barn, it was especially fun to see their banter continue after they were rescued but still stuck at Sunflower Ranch.

For fans of cowboy romances or a hallmarky Texas tale, this is the perfect southern romance.

I really enjoyed the audio book which was narrated by Chelsea Hatfield. Her tone and inflection were excellent and she did a great job of reading all of the characters.

Thank you to Hachette Audio, Forever Publishing and NetGalley for an Advanced Listening Copy in exchange for an honest review. Al opinions are my own.

Texas Homecoming, by Caroline Brown, is the story of Dr. Cody Ryan, recently returned from his work with a Doctors Without Borders type organization and the events once he returns home to his family’s Sunshine Ranch deep in the heart of Texas. His father is an MS patient and Cody feels his place is at home to support his Dad and his family.
Once back on the ranch, Cody is encouraged, and does form, a concierge medical practice accompanied by his sister-in-law Addie, an RN. In Cody’s practice he ventures to an older rancher living on his own as a winter storm engulfs their area. While there is time to see to his patient’s health issues, obtain an ambulance, and send him to a medical facility for a heart attack, Cody does not have the time afterward to get safely home. Luckily, in the white out, when a huge buck jumps in front of Cody and he wrecks his truck, he is not far from a barn and tack room on the patient’s property.

Not too long afterward, Cody’s high school sweetheart Stevie O’Dell, now a veterinarian, comes upon the old barn after having suffered two flat tires in the storm. Stevie had hoped to avoid her teenage crush, Cody. But when the weather and circumstances pull them together again, things just might change. Then, when they are able to be rescued to the Sunshine Ranch they must stay put due to downed trees and the results of blizzard conditions.

The Ryan family has opened their arms to Stevie, offering her shelter, food, and clothing until the storm has passed and transport is safe. But Cody just may have opened his heart!

This is a lovely second chance story for which Carolyn Brown is renowned.
I very much enjoyed this book and certainly do recommend it!
