I like this book but I really don’t like Rob’s ex wife. I didn’t like her in the first book either. And I prefer the flashback scenes as I preferred the teenager scenes in the first book. Absolutely loved the stand-alones. But a 4/5 as well written and I read in 2 nights.
It's great see the return of DI Rob Fleet looking for answers to a cold case murder from over 20 years ago. Unpopular with the higher ups on the for e and local politicians, Rob and his colleague Nicky are caught between finding justice for long forgotten and missing schoolboy and political mud slinging. A cracking book with a real twist you won't see at the end.
Thanks to the publishers and NetGalley for the ARC in return for an unbiased review.
Four pupils at a private school have a game of hide and seek and one of them disappears.
Fast forward twenty two years and the body of the missing boy is found.
Enter DI Fleet and his side kick who are appointed to lead the investigation into the true events of the lead up to and events of that fateful day all those years ago.
Don't wish to post any spoilers but there are a njumber of twists along the way and I for one found it to be a thoroughly enjoyable read that I finished over the course of two consecutive evenings.
Here's to more from Simon Lelic.

Awesome.
Some games are dangerous.. other are deadly. This is what this book about. Four friends played a game and then one boy went missing. A body is found
DI Fleet is up against some of the most powerful people in the country as he attempts to discover the truth about what happened on the day of the game.
Who is the killer?
Wow. What a concept. Awesome book. The author's writing style is brilliant.
Thanks to NetGalley and Penguin UK for giving me an advance copy.
