I don't work with teens but I can well remember what it was like to be that age. Feeling misunderstood and under way too much pressure. What I like about this book is that it deals with setbacks. It helps the reader to deal with these when they happen and they do happen. It is a helpful resource for a teen who might not want to or be able to talk about what's going on with them.
If you are a parent or carer to a teen, even better a teen yourself and are looking for something to help this is a great book to turn to. It's easy to follow, has simple language and is relatable.

This is another great resource geared towards teens. So many books focus on anxiety, but this is the first one I've seen that addressed anger as its root. Personally, I loved that someone finally touched on it because people so often react to anger with anger without asking themselves what's underneath.
As someone who works in childcare, this is something I've been trained to know but I think it's harder for children to recognize it in themselves. Sometimes they just explode and this book does an excellent job of showing us how little things add up to those big moments. It also helps kids understand that they're not broken. Nothing is wrong with them, but there are ways to wrench back control from anxiety.
This book, of course, goes through different techniques to help bring your anxiety down, but what I really loved was that it reminded the reader that everyone is different. Naturally, kids might be a little resistant at first or even feel like certain techniques don't work. However, it explains how sometimes it's more about finding the right combinations.
All in all, this was a fantastic resource. I think teens will find this insightful and I definitely found some great info to add to my personal toolkit for working with kids!
I am writing a book that deals with anxiety and Dunn's When Anxiety Makes You Angry helped me to work on some aspects of the book as well as think about my own challenges with anxiety (even though I am well beyond my teen years). I appreciate her CBT approach, particularly because it is explained in such an accessible way.
I really appreciate this book and know it will help many parents and teens (and YA writers like myself).

When Anxiety Makes You Angry is a self help book geared towards a teen audience. I still think it's a useful book for adults dealing with anxiety. The book shows you how anxiety can manifest and coping skills to help.
When anxiety makes you angry is a must have for parents and teachers looking for ways to assist teenagers experiencing difficulty with managing anger. This book assists with teaching coping strategies and ways to manage both anger and anxiety. Skills are introduced one step at a time so that the teen can learn how to identify their anger and what may be contributing to it. This book is easy to read and easy to implement. I highly recommend this book. Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the advance review copy in exchange for my honest review.
I enjoyed reading through this workbook. I think it will be very helpful when I am working with my teenage clients. I enjoyed the situational examples.
I'm always looking to expand our SEL selection, and it's great to have the chance to preview the books in this section. This topic is one that my students deal with a lot, and I can see it being really helpful. It's been put on our upcoming order, and I'm directing our guidance departments to it when it arrives.
This book helped me a lot when dealing with student that needs extra attention. It helps me to understand more about them. I think this mental issue has often been ignored in society. People often think that mental health is not as important as physical health.
Sometimes we're mad. Sometimes we're stressed, but it looks like we're mad. Sometimes we're anxious, but our brains think we're mad. We are in charge of how we feel and how we react and not by how our brain interprets it.
This book provided tons of information and solutions on how to handle our thought, control our emotions, and the most important is the anger management issue.
My favorite chapter in this book is THOUGHTS, FEELINGS, AND BEHAVIOUR: GETTING THE DETAILS. When you know what are you dealing with then everything will be clear to you on the next step that you should take.
I'm totally gonna buy this book for my library.
So many are diagnosed with anxiety, it’s hard to describe or explain to others.
Any book that offers an insight into or methods to make your life easier when anxiety is a part of it, has to be worth a read!
A good book to reaffirm what may or may not work for you, well worth a read!
Thanks to the publisher, NetGalley and the author for the opportunity to read and review this book.
