For You & No One Else
(Part 3 of the Say Everything Series)
By Roni Loren
Pub Day: July 5, 2022
🌟🌟🌟🌟✨/5

💁🏻‍♀️Overall Impression: Another amazing book in an amazing series. Everyone should read this series!

📖Synopsis: Eliza Catalano wants to find her man but can only find misery on dating apps. After one date creates a viral video of her drunk on a date, a friend challenges her to put her phone away for 6 months.

💭Thoughts: This is one of my favorite romance series! This may not have been my favorite in the series, but I still LOVED it!

📱: This book talks a lot about the fake side of social media and the need to detox. It hit a little harsh but is important to consider in life.

👩🏻 Eliza: I related to her being in her 30s and hating online dating, it really is terrible. She was very hesitant in getting involved with a younger guy which I definitely get. I hated seeing her self doubt towards the end and I am so glad she figured herself out.

🧔🏼‍♂️Beck: Younger man, tattooed, hacker. Loved his backstory. He took a while to grow on me and at times I didn’t love his philosophy and how it was rubbing off on Eliza but he won me over before halfway and then I really loved him by the end! ❤️

🐕🐈‍⬛: Loved that they adopted a cat and dog. Trent is hilarious 😼.

👩🏼‍🦱👩🏻‍🦰: You get to hang with Hollyn and Andi a bunch! 🍹🍦🌮

Thank you so much to the author, @netgalley and @sourcebookscasa for the free e-copy of this one. I’ll definitely be purchasing a physical copy for my shelf and will definitely be rereading it! ❤️

Roni Loren writes contemporary romance books with real characters that have heart. For you & no one else is the third in her latest interconnected stand-alone series set in a co-working space in New Orleans. Even though these could technically be read as stand-alones, I would recommend starting at the beginning, as the epilogue in this book is really meaningful with the additional context from the first two books.

Ms. Loren’s talents lie in telling emotional stories where not a lot happens externally - it’s all about emotional growth. And in this book, more than in any other in the series, the story is focused on the two main characters falling in love, with minimal external plot lines. It’s a good thing that the two characters are so interesting. Eliza is a therapist with a social media presence, who is normally the woman with a plan and great advice. We’ve seen her be the rock for her friend group in previous books, but she is now left as the only single person. Additionally, she has no family, as her parents were killed a few years ago. On Christmas Day, Eliza decides to go into work at the co-working space and runs into her office-neighbor, Beckham. Beckham is a younger (25 to Eliza’s 32), tattooed, reserved guy - and he is not great about sharing about his past. He is also anti-relationships, which usually annoys me in a book - but I felt like his background and his age made this plot line believable. The two have immediate chemistry and find themselves on adventures together. One thing leads to another, and they become friends-with-benefits.

Eliza and Beck make this book. Eliza is too hard on herself, searching for love like checking off a to-do list. She gets caught up in a social media scandal and eventually agrees to go on a social media detox. Who doesn’t sometimes get caught up on social media appearances? Women can be so self-critical, and I completely related to Eliza’s soul searching about why she was posting something - was it a performance? Was she doing something for the likes and validation? When was the last time she did something without thinking about the post later? From the way I’m still thinking about this plot thread, you can probably tell that it resonated.

And Beck is clearly avoiding something in his past. We find out in bits and pieces, and I won’t give the answer away, but I will say trigger warnings for an emotionally abusive and deeply religious upbringing. Beck is also sober, but we don’t see any of the drinking becoming an issue (or any of the therapy or meetings he may or may not be doing to stay sober). Although he is anti-marriage, he is very pro-Eliza, which leads to some natural conflict as they navigate their relationship.

Ms. Loren had their meet-cute on Christmas Day involve adopting two pets at the shelter. Eliza wound up with a sunshine-y dog, while Beck unexpectedly got handed a grumpy cat. Watching the pets interact with their humans was charming and sweet. I need more Mabel and Trent content, ASAP.

I’m not sure if there are any additional planned books in this series, but the epilogue shows the friend group several years in the future. It is fun to revisit the happy endings of the previous two couples, and I’m happy with where Ms. Loren left the series, if it is indeed the final chapter on these characters.

Overall, this is a great addition to a well-written series. Two normal people with baggage falling in love while trying to be happy - sometimes, that’s all the plot we need.

Grade: B+

I went in not reading anything else by this author, so I was blown away by the emotions I felt! It’s a beautiful story, but for me the writing is what sells it. The author has such an addictive writing style that I couldn’t get enough of, and will, for sure, be checking out her other works, previous and those to come.

This is the third book in the Say Everything series but they can be read as standalones. As per usual, Loren has delivered another home run with this book! It’s got great dialogue, funny bits, serious bits, and I was happy to see that this one is a bit steamier than the previous two books. This may be one of the few romance books where I prefer the male character. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with Eliza, but I LOVE Beck. He’s been added to my roster of book boyfriends 😁
If you like well written & realistic romances then pick this up!

After reading the first two in this series centering on the co-working space, I felt disappointed in Eliza's story. While well-written and surely enjoyable for others, I didn't fall for Beck and his disdain for social media.

The coolest thing about this book was the disconnected parties - a no phones allowed night out is so needed for everyone at times!

I really loved the previous book in the Say Everything series and this one was no exception. The way Roni Loren is able to interweave life lessons into every book she writes is just out of this world.
In this book we follow Eliza who just cannot seem to find the perfect guy for herself. Her being a therapist makes it easier for her to see a lot of read flags in men and also her using her knowledge to provide therapeutic tips on her YouTube channel. That is, until she decides on a whim to go on a date with a man she meets on a dating site. She ends the night going viral after the guy records her losing her shit after he tried to take her back to his place while she was drunk.
.
With her going viral on the internet, her clients start to cancel their session and the only person that she can go to for help is her office partner Beck Carter. Beck is a computer whiz that uses the office next to hers, they have only spoken about twice and she is definitely attracted to him. However, because he is younger than her, she believes that he would not be interested in a relationship. Anyways he helps her take down the video from the sites it had been posted on but as you can except the damage had been done.
.
He advices that she finds herself a relationship in the real world by meeting real people. This where the story gets very juicy, 'NOT TO SPOIL IT THOUGH', we get to see Beck's past with his super religious family. This book provided great insight into the effects of organised religion, puritanical beliefs, social media and television on relationships, especially when a child grows up around this kind of influence.

“All I’m saying is that you’re not having bad luck on dates because there’s something wrong with you. You’re having a bad time because you’re looking for something real in a system set up for show. You’re looking for a seven-course meal at a fast-food restaurant.”

My first Roni Loren book and I’m definitely a fan now! Loren has a fantastic writing style that is both humorous and raw. There were so many cute, funny moments in this book (especially the animal related ones) and Eliza’s struggle with the horrors of online dating felt super relatable. I’m a huge fan of all of the tropes in this book: friends to lovers, friends with benefits, workplace romance, and age gap romance (totally breaks my heart that we’re calling a 32 year old woman to a 25 year old man age gap. Stab my chest, Loren. It’d hurt less.) I loved the emotional depth in this book and really enjoyed the relationships between the characters. Beckham and Eliza have great chemistry and I felt very invested in their outcome. I liked this so much that I didn’t even mind the miscommunication! The epilogue is fantastic. Everything you want in a romance conclusion.

I’m really excited that this is the third in a series so I can go back and immediately read the other two. Even though it’s a series of connected characters, each book can be read as a standalone. This felt very similar to other romance series’ likes The Friend Zone series by Abby Jimenez and The Kiss Quotient series by Helen Hoang. Totally digging this trend in romcoms! I mean, who doesn’t want to see what’s going on with your fave characters? I’ve seen a few reviews describing this particular book as their least fave but I have nothing to compare it to so I loved it. Highly recommend this one to all romance fans that like their books with serious undertones.

Thank goodness for Roni Loren! Just when I was starting to feel doomed to be underwhelmed by every book I read, she comes out with a story that reminded me what it felt like to be so engrossed in a story that you forget the world around you. Characters that feel real and writing that feels effortless, it felt so good to read past my bed time again.

Eli is done with online dating. Her last attempt was beyond bad and it is time to try something new. Beckham works in the office next door and is strictly anti-social media. He assures her that analog dating is not only possible this day and age- it is preferable. He also offers to add some benefits to their friendship while she searches for Mr. Right. What starts as an uncomplicated plan grows less clear cut every day. Neither is being totally upfront about what they really want even with themselves but when something has an automatic expiration date does it really matter?

Loren brings her usual depth to what could have been a typical friends to lover tale. Eli and Becks both grow as individuals as their relationship develops an Becks is forced to re-examine the effects of his past.

Sad to see this series end but it was great seeing past characters in their HEAs.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Again I found myself at the beginning of book three, sucked into the dialogue and loving the characters. Naturally, I had to stop, drop, and read the other two books first (reviews on goodreads and Barnes and Noble).

I digress. To the reason we are all here, for the review of For You & No One Else. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

What I like about Roni Loren is she is a breath or fresh air real. Her books scratch the itch of romance but also give you a slice of perspective from a different walk of life.

In this book you meet Eliza, a strong female in her thirties pushed into societies pressures of the preconceived life plan. (That biological clock is ticking!).

She meets Beckham who through his own trial is coming out on the other side of a completely different life. One that he packed away when he created his new identity.

The magic in this book for me was not just the story of these two likable characters. It was the hard messy parts, the steamy parts (I’m only human).

Most of all, the emphasis on Eliza’s occupation as a therapist and the importance of mental health.

I enjoyed each of these books, they just kept getting better. I applaud you, Roni Loren and can’t wait for the next one!

“We all have that right - to choose the path where we can be our healthiest and happiest.”

If any one asks for a contemporary romance recommendation, I’ll always recommend Roni Loren’s Say Everything Series.

Having loved the two other books in this series, I was thrilled to receive an advance reader copy of this latest novel, For Your & No One Else, due for publication in July. Thank you @sourcebookscasa and @netgalley 🙌

Colleagues at WorkAround, a shared workspace for entrepreneurs and new business start ups, Eliza is a therapist and Beckham, in cyber security.

Working in offices alongside each other, Eliza and Beck would often meet in passing or at the coffee station, but otherwise, that’s where the relationship sat.

Both finding themselves alone and working over the Christmas holidays, they strike up an unlikely friendship.

Eliza is a big social media user, where appearance is everything however, Beck has no presence on the Internet and is keen to keep it that way. When Beck makes an offer too good to refuse, Eliza agrees to stay off social media for 6 months; no technology, or dating apps and as Beck states, “pretty filters”.

In this novel, I loved the friendships and relationships, the wit and the humour and as always, the storytelling by @roniloren is brilliant. With many laugh out loud moments, as well as more tender scenes too, I could not stop turning these pages.

This book is fast paced and unputdownable and I loved it from start to finish. If you’re a fan of the opposites attract trope (as well as a fair share of steam 🔥) be sure to pick this one up when it releases in July - it’s a gem!

There's always one book in a series that gets designated ‘least favourite’ and the award goes to this one, unfortunately.

I just… didn't believe it. Any of it.

There's no way, in any fictional universe, that this main character is a therapist. She doesn't act like one, doesn't work like one, doesn't think like one. I would never go to her for therapy. lol.

And then Beck. My poor, sweet Beck. He's been given the most terrible backstory that honestly doesn't fit the tone of the rest of the book. It comes up towards the end and just throws a wrench in the entire story. Very jarring. Especially because it feels so unresolved.

I mean, true to RL fashion, this does have some nice moments, for sure. It's an easy read and good for some light entertainment. I just think it missed the mark as a whole when it comes to plot concept and characterisation.

The first two books are great, though! So if you're looking for a new romance series, definitely pick those up!

For You & No One Else is the third installment of the Say Everything series, and it tells the story of Eli and Beck. I especially loved three things: the opposites-attract trope, the development of their friendship into something more, and well, Trent the cat. HAHAHA.

I currently work for a coworking space, so I really enjoy the setting of the whole series. This book, in particular, has me imagining my own workplace so it definitely provides a vivid visual. I also enjoyed cameos of previous characters, which gives this series a more cohesive picture of their "world".

This also tackles a conflict of relevant weight, though I did found it loosely-tied to the last parts of the book. And while I did enjoy their story, I felt that their dynamic and chemistry still pale in comparison with our leads of the first book, Yes & I Love You, which is still undoubtedly my favorite & personally what I consider to be the benchmark of this series.

Nevertheless, still can't wait for the next ones!

“a fun bonus of having a girlfriend. all we need is us. i want to feel every bit of you.”

tropes: friends to lovers, age gap (6 years), jealousy, friends with benefits, workplace romance

this is such a good friends to lovers book! the build up was incredible and it filled with so many heartfelt and funny moments! and the angst and chemistry in this book was so good! i loved every second of this book and honestly would think about it when i was away from it!

eliza is such a sweetheart i love her so much! she always wants the very best for everyone even it means putting herself second. she’s always there to help anyone who needs it and she is so full of light! i swear i want her to be my best friend😭

beck has gone through so much in his life and still manages to be such a good guy! he cares so much for eliza and wanted to help her out even if it hurt him. he even adopted a cat because the cat liked him so much like oh my gosh i love him😂

i definitely recommend this book if you love friends to lovers and friends with benefits! also if you enjoyed the other books in the series then you’ll definitely love this one too! roni loren never fails to deliver!💕

For You & No One Else is the first Roni Loren novel I've read and now I'm clamoring for all of the novels on her back list. The combination of Eliza and Beck are fire and I could not get enough of them. I adored how they started their friendship and how it built into a love that both of them needed and neither of them thought would happen...at least the way it did. They are seemingly so very opposite in so many ways but as you get to know them, they really have so much in common which you discover as Beck convinces Eliza of going "analogue". This allows for them to explore each other in a non-digital way learning their histories and reasons for how they've become who they are (or were) which leads to conflict and understanding and love.

These two were funny and their chemistry was FIRE. And bonus points for setting it in New Orleans and using accurate names and places--this NOLA girl appreciates it. Grab this read--you will not be disappointed.

This is the 3rd book by Roni Loren in the “Say Everything” series, and also the 3rd book of hers that I have read. I like that the characters in her books are not perfect, they are not ‘typical’ romantic leads. Eliza is a therapist, who is struggling a bit in her own personal life. Her parents recently died, and she is spending the holidays alone, and is not following the advice she posts on her YouTube channel which is in direct conflict with this! Her actions and her thoughts don’t really match her public persona, and she is struggling to find happiness.

Beckett is also alone on Christmas, and the 2 connect in the office as both are working like it is any normal day. From there, the 2 connect as friends and Beckett tries to help Eliza out by helping her ‘unplug.’ But, it turns out Beckett doesn’t have things all figured out, either!

What I loved:
- the chemistry between the characters, and that the characters felt ‘real’
- it really made me think about how we interface with technology, and ‘playing a role’ rather than just living our lives
- I don’t know if NoPho parties are really a ‘thing’ but if they aren’t they should be!

If you haven’t read a book by Roni Loren, I definitely recommend giving this one a try!

I received a copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Another utterly readable (and relatable) story from the prolific Roni Loren.
For You & No One Else combines issues of anxiety and childhood trauma with such flawed but earnest characters that once you start reading you cannot stop.
I loved that this story gave us both perspectives of the pros and cons of social media, the bane and beauty of dating, and the tug of war between the head and the heart.
It's a wonderful book.

I've had For You & No One Else by Roni Loren on my NetGalley shelf for a little bit. I love Roni Loren's writing, but I know her books have deep emotions and past traumas, and I have to be in the right headspace to read them.

The content warning in the front of the book is accurate: mental health, alcohol addiction, loss of loved ones, escaping a religious cult, and suicidal thoughts (secondary character). Not mentioned in the books content warning is revenge posting of videos. One video was a sex tape of teenagers. The other was from one of Eliza's dates who orchestrated her to be over served alcohol in an effort to make her pliant for after the date. The author takes care of Eliza and she is removed from the situation, but not before she goes on a drunk tirade and unbuttons her shirt. Her date videos the whole thing and revenge posts it online.

For You & No One Else is the third book in this series. You can read it as a standalone, but it's so much fun to know the other characters first!

For You & No One Else had many delightful themes: challenging the patriarchy, the institute of marriage, and the need for 2.5 children; what a relationship has to look like; what happiness has to look like; our unrealistic expectations that our therapists can't be real people; our reliance on social media, and how it's all fake. It was extremely refreshing to read these themes.

It also has a stuck up cat, and a very sweet dog. Both were rescued on Christmas day.

Eliza and Beckett start their relationship as friends. They make a lot of deals. They have amazing chemistry. They become exclusive. And then there is the big hurt, the big fight, the end. Both characters learn from the big fight. Both characters grow. They come back together. Not a spoiler, this is a romance book, we get a happily ever after.

Since this is an ARC and I can't quote it, I will say that when Beckett first kisses Eliza, her thoughts are so very swoon-worthy!

I received an advance review copy for free from NetGalley, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

If it has Roni Loren's name on it then it's for me! I could leave my review at that, but I will give a bit more.

Firstly, I need to find a workplace in Louisiana that has this many cool coworkers present! This is the third book in this series and the people give this series all the life!!

I enjoyed the aspects here that we have an uber nerd and a therapist who start an unlikely friendship. The friendship turns into more of course, it is Roni Loren.

What's more though is that we get to witness very real issues. There is a bit of Internet shaming/consent issues. We have some religious trauma present. A life off the social media grid, and more!

It was fantastic!!!

Thank you for the advanced readers copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

I’m obsessed with this series so I read this one super quickly! I can’t get enough of these characters I’m always left wanting more. Run DONT walk for this series

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Ah, good ol' Roni Loren. She's been a consistent 5 star read for me. Thank you to Sourcebooks Casablanca for approving this request. You have made my year! I won't forget this book.
Loren continues her temporary workspace romances, with Eliza the therapist and a younger Beckham, a computer genius. Watching these two get together, through this angsty narrative, is just delightful. I didn't want it to end, but couldn't put it down. Simmering fun!
