Raine Miller was one of the up-and-coming indie authors. This is her first book series. Naked is about a successful and charismatic businessman named Ethan Blackstone and his fateful meeting with an American woman, who happens to model on the side. Their fateful meeting starts with a tasteful nude photo of Brynne Bennett, an art student. Brynne has a troubled past but has worked hard to move passed it. After a buying the naked-ish portrait of Brynne, Ethan finds himself obsessed with the model. He pursues her and due to the natural of his work, pretty much gathers information on her. Early 2000s me would not have bat an eye to this maneuver and downright obsession. Post-Me Too era me, would find this behavior scary and creepy IRL, but still a little romantic as long as it's fictional. Their courtship and relationship are full of emotional upheaval and the straw that finally broke the camel's back. Ethan's obsessive tendencies broke Brynne's trust and this gives us a starting point for book 2.

I don't usually enjoy romances in which there's such a strong power dynamic. (Fifty Shades of Grey left me physically ill, for example.) Having said that, this is very gripping and well-written, and fans of that subgenre of romance will definitely enjoy this. It's a great launching pad for the series as a whole.

Review:
In Raine Miller's Naked, we meet Brynne Bennett American art student at the University of London and millionaire alpha male Londoner Ethan Blackstone. Not the brightest co-ed. She accepts a ride from a stranger, takes the Advil Ethan gives her and wakes up freaking about something we're not sure of. I'm not going to give away any spoilers except to say if Fifty Shades is a genre, this book is in it. Alpha male, sub female. The book lost some logic points for me since Ethan knows her American father but not that she is American. (And would you do this stuff with a friend's daughter?) Also, I really did not get the sense of London. The story felt as if it were set in the US.
As D/s stories go, this one fits the genre. The characters definitely have chemistry. The book is a quick read, and be assured it ends in a cliffhanger so as soon as you turn the page, you will want the next in the series. If you like Fifty Shades, you will like this book, especially if you're willing to take the character's location and nationalities with a grain of salt. They are engaging in the foreground, in spite of the background being off-center.

Had the opportunity of reading this book a while ago. I actually liked the delicacy the author had describing scenes. I liked the main character Brynne and of course i loved Ethan Blackstone. London is the best scenario for this absolutely fascinating love story,, absolutely engaging from page one. Both characters have a cracked past that they must overcome in order to find redemption, but fall in love in the process. Absolutely dove into that cliffhanger, and made me seek the next book ASAP.
