I teach in tertiary settings and hoped this would give some good tips, despite seeing that it mentioned 'school' in the title - I figured there would be some transferrable / relatable content. However, this is definitely geared towards school education. That being said, what great insights Samuel Nix has to impart, and it is nice to read of a teacher who really pays attention to his students, observes the nuances of their behaviours, and adapts his style to suit. He sounds like a great leader, and any school teachers early in their career I think would benefit a lot from this book.

Samuel Nix wants to ensure that all teachers and administrators "Ensure Educational Success" in their classrooms. His book gives reinforcement and ideas to those who want to provide academic resources and instruction in ways that interest students. This book encourages teachers and principals to be facilitators on the journey to educational success by learning the interests and needs of youth as well as how they can best learn needed skills and material that will stick with them for a lifetime. This book encourages those who already subscribe to this process and provides a pathway for those who want to adapt their classroom and school to one that is a community of learners. For all. It is a well-written book that can be easily and quickly read and could be adapted to a learning community that could use it as a discussion tool for a school-wide read for teachers or aspiring teachers. For those who already follow this path of instruction, it will reinforce their practice. For those who need some guidance in that direction, it will be a constructive way to enable critical thinking on how one learns and processes information. Recommended read for anyone in the education field as a good reminder of the way we learn best. Thanks to #NetGalley#EnsureEducationSucces for the opportunity to read and review this book.
