Wild is the Witch is truly a love letter to the Pacific Northwest. The landscape comes alive, and is such a vibrant and important part of this novel. I loved that Griffin hinted at a wider magical world, but focused so tightly on this specific plot. The relationships - familial, romantic, and friendship - were all well-written and very believable. Overall, this enemies-to-lovers romance is a quick and easy read. Although fair warning - you will likely want to volunteer at a wildlife sanctuary and go hiking through the woods yourself after reading this book.

Absolutely fabulous book. The atmosphere and story was perfectly cozy and had me hooked all the way till the end.

This was a quick read over the perfect fall weather, but honestly it didn't need to be read in fall to truly enjoy the atmosphere within this book. The characters were great, PNW is such a vibe in itself, and the plot was interesting and honestly kind of cozy? Would recommend.

Thank you for this book
I loved that Iris hides who she really is and vents her frustrations by writing curses she never intends to cast.
Her character reminded me of a friend who never actually reveals herself.
THANK YOU!!

Unfortunately this is the second book by the author that I haven’t really gotten into. Love the cover’s for her books but this protagonist seemed to be very impulsively stupid and overly emotional. Though I didn’t get far enough to see anything happen with the clear love interest, he was just immature and a bit of a brat.

My first experience with Rachel's books wasn't the best, since The Nature of Witches kinda disappointed me in everything it proposed. This one was a good surprise! It felt like a "confort book", the ones we read to feel warm and welcomed, with charismatic characters. But I felt like the worldbuild could've been better, more expanded. I wanted to see more of magic. It was a good surprise, as I said, but it could've been a great one.

A really fast paced book with a nice magical storyline. My inner witch did want a little more magic displays, but what we got was sufficient enough. I think this book would really go well with a sequel as it was so fast paced and short and needed a bit more to really build that world around the concept of this book.

This was such a cute and "feel good" book! I'm sure many YA readers will enjoy it very much!

If you are looking for something lighthearted and like witchy, enemy-to-lovers YA romance about magic, nature and family ties you will probably enjoy it very much.

I was left wanting more from the characters and some of the plot devices didn't make much sense but that didn't stop me from enjoying it. There is something about the author's writing style that makes the story feel just wholesome and "feel good" so I really had a good time and was left in a good mood!

I love Rachel Griffin... that is all. Just kidding, but actually she is an author that I always turn to when I want just a really good reach read. There is something about the owl in the book that makes me want to use it as a football and also keep is as a pet which are very interesting and clearly conflicting feelings. I love the angsty, the overall emotions and characters themselves and the love story is also just *chefs kiss* Overall I adored this book.

This is the second novel by this author and this was another fun, enjoyable read.
It is a fast paced, well written story that has a lovely combination of magic, nature and a little bit of romance as
well.
This is a book to curl up with and devour in a day.

Rachel Griffin is the queen of witchy stories that focus on climate change and global warming. That’s just it though, I feel like I just read a reworking of The Nature of Witches. I wanted more, I wanted a unique and new story and this just didn’t fulfill that need.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Rachel Griffin has done it again! I absolutely loved Nature of Witches so I knew as soon as this book was announced that I would love it too and I was right! The atmosphere she creates with her writing is truly magical. I love that she set this world in our world but just added magic; specifically the magic of nature. As someone who loves the PNW (Pacific Northwest), I truly enjoy and love the world Rachel Griffin creates and how she describes the beauty of the PNW. Also, I can’t finish this review without mentioning how much I loved the romance in this book; the enemies to lovers trope, the safety and closeness they develop throughout the book was just amazing to read.

I liked this book but wanted more. It was a quick read and face paced. Great characters and hauntingly magical.

I was given this book in return for an honest review.

I didn't think it was possible but I liked this more than The Nature of Witches. The only thing that would've made it better is a change in the outcome of the plot device (if you've read it, you know). I would've also liked to see more magic like we did in her first novel. I loved that we got a whole new set of witches in this world. With different powers and a better understanding of the "world" in this book.

I'll be honest, the banter between Pike and Grey was on point. I laughed out loud in quite a few places. I honestly hope she does a sequel. Or maybe a combination of both worlds?

The book is really fast paced and keeps you wanting more. I finished it in 4 days so the speed digested speaks for itself. Also do yourself a favor and grab a hardcover copy because what's hiding underneath that dust jacket, chefs kiss.

I like to jump genres so I can recommend books to students. This is a YA about a witch which is on trend. I would have loved this in high school. Paranormal and fantasy stories about magic are fantastic but phenomenal when they also touch real problems. I feel Iris will really connect with young adults. The story is fast paced and keeps your attention. Beautiful writing style.

Wild Is the Witch was such a beautiful read. I'm a summer for books that incorporate nature into the story, and the author did h a fantastic job of doing this. Initially, the book's cover is what caught my attention. I think it perfectly conveys this concept of nature and freedom. When you read the story and move beyond the characters' complicated pasts and interactions, there's a thoughtful and somewhat emotional story of healing. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to others.

Thank you Netgalley and Sourcebooks Fire for the E-arc of “Wild Is The Witch” by Rachel Griffin in exchange for an honest review.
This was one of my most anticipated reads of 2022 and it did not disappoint.
Iris is a witch who keeps finding herself in trouble. With a recent move to the pacific north west Iris is carful not to upset the Witch’s council any more than se already has, worried that if she causes trouble again that her powers may be stripped of her.
To vent her frustrations she writes curses then dispels them before they can be enacted. But before she can dispel the curse she wrote for Pike Alder, the witch hating aspiring Ornithologist, a bird swoops in and steals it. If the bird should die, the curse will not only is enacted onto Pike but to everyone within that region, turning them all into witches; A very dangerous thing considering that new witches don’t know how to control their powers.
Pike and Iris now must hike through the Pacific North West in search for this bird before any harm comes to it or else mass discretion shall ensue.

This book was everything I wanted it to be. I love the idea of witches being monitored by a higher authority and what that looks like in their daily lives.
While reading I felt like I was walking alongside Iris and felt what she felt. Rachel Griffin did a wonderful job in her description of Washington and the PNW (A place I hold dear in my heart) I felt like I was home amounts the wild trees and the creatures they inhabit.

I really wanted to love this book. Really I did, but it was just so fast paced. I feel like I was in a race to finish it, when there was no actual race to speak of! The book felt far too short and fast-paced for me, so I think it would really benefit from a sequel or a novella or something. I need MORE. I wish there had been more witchy things to happen, but I enjoyed the little bits I was given. I think the plot is a good idea, but may need a little more flushing out. That being said, I also think that a sequel could just be set in the same world as this book with all new characters.
It was a really fun, good read, it was just too fast for me.

I really really wish Rachel Griffin had been writing YA novels when I was in high school.
Give me all the pacific northwest witchy vibes, a fast paced story, romance, and (of course) a curse. I cannot wait to see what's next from Rachel Griffin
