Wow! This book went in a totally unexpected direction but I love every minute of it! Christina and Lauren never disappoint! The book was truly the epitome of "it's not about the destination but the journey" and they truly took us on a journey in "Something Wilder" The writing is just brilliant with the alternated story telling.

This is my favorite type of book - the kind where the romance is at the center of the book but there are other things going on. I loved learning about the historical aspects of this book, including Butch Cassidy and the connections to the trail. I also liked Lily and Leo’s obvious immediate connection from the moment they locked eyes. With all of the adventure and twists I didn’t see coming, this was one of those books that I could easily see being made into a movie! Thank you to Christina and Lauren for making such a fun read - that brought something more daring and adventurous than their typical romance novel.
This book had a very different feeling than the other Christina Lauren books I’ve read, but I really got into after the initial surprise. I ended up loving the mystery, adventure elements, the twists and turns. Not to mention this book had such a sweet second chance romance! Would highly recommend!
This ARC was provided to me by NetGalley.
This book felt cheesy—maybe cause I’m a Utah girl and this is set in a very romanticized “Western” Southern Utah. Yes, this culture exists but all I can picture is the hipsters in Moab and how it’s all overrun by tourists. But I digress.
This was a story of poor choices and abandoning common sense. Paired with over the top antagonists, and plot twists that ruined the book for me.
2.5 stars.
Something Wilder was a really fun read! I really enjoyed the characters and it was able to bridge the gap between the romantic and more serious discussions from the past and present really well.

I absolutely loved this WILD ride! As a SUPERFAN of The Unhoneymooners, I could not wait to get my hands on this advanced copy of my favorite duo's next book!
Lily Wilder is the daughter of a notorious treasure hunter who pays the bills by leading fake treasure hunts through the red rock canyons of Utah. Her latest group gets super interesting when Leo Grady, the former love of her life, shows up with his friends. Things quickly go awry and you will race to the finish line to see if Lily and Leo can rekindle their flame and find the biggest treasure that her father is thought to have hidden in the desert.
I LOVED Lily, Leo, Nicole, and Walter...I would absolutely love a spinoff book of what happens next with Nicole and Walter!
Leo Grady & Lily Wilder fell in love years ago. But things changed in an instant leaving Leo in New York and Lily in Utah. On an annual friends’ trip, Leo is suddenly face to face with Lily again, and she’s the group’s guide on a Wild West treasure hunt.
This book was very adventurous and nothing like Christina Lauren’s previous books. I enjoyed the thrill of the adventure, but did feel like the romance took a backseat to the treasure hunt. However, there were lots of surprises along the way and I enjoyed getting swept up into the riddles, codes, twists, and turns. I loved that this one managed to surprise me multiple times. Definitely a fun Summer read!

This book took me on a wild ride. That sounds cliche given the title and content, but it’s really true. I’ve never read a book that had so many twists I didn’t see coming. I won’t give too much away, but from what happens to Terry to the consequences from the texts on his phone, to Bradley’s fate in the end, I did not anticipate any of those things happening.
I liked that Lily wasn’t just willing to give into her feelings right away even after Leo revealed how he felt. Oftentimes I think romance books involve two characters who willingly give into each other right away, and that wasn’t the case with these two. I was confused in the beginning about how Leo *just happened to* end up on a trip led by his ex-girlfriend, so I was glad to see this plot point explained by the ending.
This was my favorite Christina Lauren book I’ve read so far - with maybe the exception of Unhoneymooners, which holds a special place in my heart. They’re two very different books, so they’re hard to compare. I also liked learning about Butch Cassidy. With all of this in mind, this book definitely took me longer to get through than most romance-style books - mostly due to some parts toward the middle that were a bit harder to get through. I did appreciate, though, that the authors were clearly building toward something. The puzzles and ciphers along the way were also a bit cheesy but still fun!

This was a different Christina Lauren than I'm used to. It was like they had been reading Katie Ruggle and decided to throw some action into the mix. It was slow to start, but picked up speed and the romance was sweet.
Something Wilder is such a fun escape from reality in a wild treasure hunt chase that is more about self discovery, love and finding your bliss.
Christina Lauren created such a fun take on a second chance romance that was a bit angsty, a bit of a slow burn but the added plot of finding a treasure was such a unique take that I have not seen in other books before. I loved that Lily was so smart, caring, and strong willed. She really knew her stuff and had a heart in what she cares and loves. Leo and Lily seeing each other again brings up old flames and he really is a sweet character. I love how supportive and caring he is of Lily. He really does let her take lead and he is more than willing to be a supporting role for her which I think was so sweet to see. The book is also filled with hilarious and crazy moments, there are moments where you wonder who can you trust? What is going on? The book really takes you on a journey where you feel like you are part of the group trying to solve the mystery and find the treasure.
I really enjoyed this book. It felt like a romantic comedy with emotional and heartfelt moments and a lesson in all this. I thought it was unique, clever, witty, sweet and funny and I loved that in the end, it all ties together perfectly as it was meant to be.
This duo does it again. I love how when I read their books, I am transported to another world.
What a fun read about hunting treasure and long lost love. I could feel the chemistry between Leo and Lily the whole time which kept me turning the pages. There were a couple of times that I had to do an eye roll at how crazy their adventure got, but overall I really enjoyed this book. It was also something different than the usual love story, so I loved the originality.
As I do all of Christina Lauren's reads, I will be recommending this to everyone I know.
The setting and the characters were engaging, though some of the plot-related choices made very little sense if you think about them for longer than a minute or two. The romance at the heart of the novel felt somewhat secondary to the treasure hunt and the bid for survival in the harsh desert, but not in a way that felt detrimental to the story or characters. Not my favorite Christina Lauren, but an enjoyable read nonetheless.
Oh I loved this book! I enjoyed the setting, the characters, and the plot. It was just a bit different from other books I’ve read lately and was the perfect beach read. I felt like it had a little bit of everything! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
Finally Christina Lauren entertained me almost as much as they did with the Unhoneymooners, which I loved. Lily's father left her with nothing but her wits and a few treasure maps when he disappeared which she turned into a treasure hunting/wilderness adventure business. When one group came to experience the adventure, the crew of "city boys" included her ex-boyfriend Leo. The trip does not go according to plan and Lily and Leo end up in their own perilous adventure. I enjoyed the story and the characters and thought it was a well done romance. Thank you NetGalley for the advanced copy.
Christina Lauren does it again! Loved the setting and adventure. If you're looking to get lost in a wild treasure hunt with a side of romance, this book is for you!
These two ladies really know how to write a book. And the research that goes into it....Amazing. However this book had several plot holes that really made the big reveal hard to accept.. The resolution and conclusion were also a little weak, The first 75% of the book is great the last 25% took this book from 5 stars to 2.5 stars.
I love all of Christina Lauren's books and this was no different! Every story they write is unique and a new experience. I always know that their books will let me escape into whatever world they are creating in their stories. I liked the suspenseful aspect of this book, it definitely gave it a different feel from other Christina Lauren books. Will definitely recommend this one for people to read!
This is the saddest thing I have ever admitted, but I think this is the first time I dislike a Christina Lauren book. I found the story very monotonous, and I really struggled to get through it. I didn't connect with the main character like I usually do in their books, and the love interest wasn't particularly interesting. The first half was good, but then something happened and the story took such a bizarre turn that I ended feeling really put off.
This was the first Christina Lauren book I’ve read. I’ve heard so many great things and was excited to see what I was missing.
I enjoyed the setting and the characters, but I feel that the passion between the love interests was lacking. In fairness, I don’t read many romance novels and mainly stick to thrillers and sci-fi.
Overall, I thought this was a cute story and would be a fun beach read.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
This book was such a fun read! I always love Christina Lauren, but I think this one may be my favorite. It has romance, adventure and even a treasure hunt!
