Stolen Angels by Rita Herron is the fifth book in her Detective Ellie Reeves series. This is a fast-paced thriller with a complex storyline. I love the main character Detective Ellis Reeve's grit, determination and bravery. When little Ava goes missing Ellie, Special Agent Derrick Fox and Ranger Cord McClain put their hearts and experience into finding her. I enjoyed following along with the investigation. This was a page-turner and once again Ms. Herron kept me turning the pages until the excellent ending.
I found this very easy to read, but noticed that at one point the Teddy bear became a rag doll which bugged me. It would have made more sense in some places if I had read the 1st 4 books as even though the stories are stand alone the reference to relationships is lost if you have not read the previous books.
I thought the concept was good but I had worked it out before getting to the part of the book where the story came to a head. Would read another book but would be better to start at book one.
Book 5 in the series! WoW! WoW! WoW! What an absolute mind spinning, gripping, story this was! when i read a book i like a book to keep me gripped from the beginning and this book certainly does that
I had a really hard time putting my Kindle down to do my Adult responsibilities.
A little girl has gone missing- her mother thought she was at school but she never caught the bus. Her mother and father are separated and her father has a new girlfriend who isn't keen on kids, thinking his daughter could come between them. Could they have taken her? Detective Ellie Reeves is alerted and has a few leads to go on- the father is away and not answering. When Ellie discovers that other similar aged children have been taken, one on the same day a year ago, things get more intensive. Could there be a child trafficking ring active in the area and can they get the children home safe?
I enjoyed this and found the pages turning easily. Each chapter is quite short which helps move things along at a pace. I took to Ellie and her tenacity for justice. Although this is book five in the series this happily stands alone (I hadn’t read the others in the series)- there was the very occasional mention of things which I imagine were in the other books but nothing at all that detracted from enjoying this and it standing alone. A highly enjoyable read and I would quite happily read any more in the series.

I was hooked from the start. Lots of twists and turns and a great ending. I am looking forward to the next book byRita Herron
It's a few days before Christmas and a six year old is abducted from the school bus stop. The whole town is in an uproar and it is up to Detective Ellie Reeves and her colleagues to find the girl and solve the mystery before Christmas. The story explores both child trafficking and missing children. It is heartbreaking what the families go through both victims and perpetrators. This is a gripping story and very well researched and written. I have found a new favorite suspense author!
I have voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All views expressed are only my own honest opinion.
This was my first experience with this series and I liked it well enough. It was a bit frustrating at times, though, as the main characters chased every single lead. That's probably realistic, but it's not the most exciting reading.
Rita Herron is just the greatest!
I've loved every book she has put out.
And they just keep getting better and better!
The Ellie Reeves Series is a fast paced, intriguing and entertaining set.
Once I started reading, I found myself sucked into the world of Detective Ellie Reeves.
This was such a roller coaster ride!
From the beginning of the chapter to the end of the book, I was literally hooked into the story.
This is another story that is so engaging... The author did a good job gripping the reader into the story!
I must say, quiet an interesting plot and an unputownable thriller!!!
I hope there is more to come from Ellie! Love her!
Bookouture,
Thank You for this eARC!
I've enjoyed every single read from the Ellie Reeves Series and I hope to continue with this series!
My love for this series continues. Rita delivers another great mystery and one of the reasons I love a series is the love you gain for the characters as each book gives you a snippet more into their backgrounds. In book 5 we find out a little more about Ranger Cord McClain and I found myself both outraged at the community at their treatment of Ellie but also warmed by others who show the true sense of love and support in bringing people together, showing compassion to help others.
Detective Ellie Reeves is enjoying the reprieve the town is having from death and serial killers and is looking forward to the upcoming holidays. But that reprieve doesn't last long when a little girl is taken.
Ellie being the type of person she is throws herself into the hunt to find her. She's also not the only girl to have been taken and as the investigation digs deeper surprising twist are revealed.
This was another great suspense and I look forward to more in the series.
Wow! Great book! This book was such a great read! It had suspense, intrigue, action, and a great storyline! It also had heartache and heartbreak! I definitely had the chills in quite a few spots! The book was very sad at times but it ended up being such a touching story! I highly recommend reading this book! Its well worth reading! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
What a great story! It grabs you from the first page and doesn’t let go until the end. Definitely a page turner. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.
