The third installment in then series covers Danielle and Shawn. While Danielle’s sister is trying to figure out who is out to get her, Shawn and Danielle get closer. This was a good book overall. Leslie North always outs together great stories
I received this ARC and I am voluntarily reviewing this book.
This was a great read! Jam-packed with suspense, emotion and regret. Danielle and Shawn definitely had their challenges and I was riveted, watching their relationship unfold. 5 stars!!
I was expecting a story that grabs your attention in the first chapter. It was a decent story with good characters. I just think I was expecting something with more action and danger in the storyline.
A quick read with lots of suspense and drama. The bad guys are very quick off the mark in finding Danielle and baby Grace so there's lots of drama right from the offset. Shawn is good with children and so there are a few sweet scenes where he tries to help out with Grace. Danielle and Shawn make a good team although I didn't really like that their romance started before any sparks or chemistry could build up. It just felt that their relationship missed a stage.
The rest of the plot was good with Danielle's sister making an appearance. I wouldn't mind reading a book based on her in the future.
~~~ I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review ~~~
SEAL's Pretend Family is a short romance full of action. I have not read the other two books in this series, but don't feel that I missed anything from not having that background. This book follows the story of Danielle and Shawn. Danielle is in need of protection after her sister drops her baby off while running from some corrupt CIA agents, who then start targeting Danielle. Shawn is ex SEAL and hired to protect her and the baby. Of course, it's an intense situation and chemistry ignites between them.
I enjoyed this book, however would've liked to see more development between Danielle and Shawn, to really show the chemistry and attraction between them, as a reader, I didn't feel it much. I think if the book was maybe 100 pages longer, the author could have invested more time in that development and making the ending to the rogue CIA agent situation stronger (more believable). However, the ending of the book is swoon worthy! Overall, I enjoy Leslie North's writing and this book. I'd recommend it if you're looking for a quick, steamy read.
As a side note, I greatly dislike this cover- this is not how Shawn is described in the book.
This is a great book. The two main characters are Danielle and Shawn. Danielle is a school teacher and Shawn is an owner of a security company. Danielle hears a cry and finds a baby on her doorstep. She finds a note from her sister Val saying this her niece Grace take care her till her sister can come back. Then Shawn arrives at her house and says her sister hired him to keep her and her niece save. Her sister is CIA and must hide till she gets information on who is trying to kill her, her daughter and her sister. Shawn moves them around to safe houses, till the bad guy shows up. They declare their love.
this was the second sentinel security book I've read. enjoyed the story and the characters even though I felt in some parts the story wasn't developed enough
I really enjoyed this series and hated for it to end. I greatly enjoyed getting to know all the characters. I loved Shawn and Danielle's story. These two make such a great couple. He strives to earn love and she just wants someone to stay. A captivating read that I read straight through. I would definitely recommend it.
This is the third book of the series which brings us Shawn's story, the third partner of Sentinel Security. Shawn is sent to Danielle's house to protect her and her baby niece, Grace. Grace's mother is the one that sends him over. They end up having to run numerous times to stay safe and in the midst of all that the chemistry between them begins to heat up. Shawn wants to protect them, but he doesn't know how to deal with his feelings for Danielle, so he distances himself. Danielle also learns something about her sister she never knew. Will Shawn be able to stay away or will he give in to his heart. You don't want to miss this terrific last book of the series!
I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
A big thank you to NetGalley and Relay Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is the third in a series, and reads great as a stand alone. While it says Seal in the title-he is now in security. The plot is corny and not very practical but fun. It's a quick read, and lets face it we read to escape and be entertained not necessarily for truth. I liked the main characters Danielle and Shawn. Didn't really like her sister-who just drops a baby on the doorstep? But overall a fun read. 3 stars
Accidentally I read the third part of the Sentinel security before the second part (Seal’s One Night Stand). But no worries: I still enjoyed it. Of course, this story would be about the third partner of the Sentinel security firm: Shawn.
Shawn has been hired by Val to protect her two months old daughter Grace, who she has left on her sister’s doorstep. Val is a secret agent working for the ClA. But she has a smuggler in her team, who is selling weapons to the enemy. So, now she needs to find out who that is, before she is murdered. Or worse: they will go after her family, again. She already lost her husband. Now, the only family she has left are her daughter and her sister Danielle. Hence, the hiring of Shawn, to keep them safe.
Danielle is a kindergarten teacher. Over the years, she and her sister Val have grown apart. Her sister became a travelling journalist, who nearly never touched base. Not even when their parents became ill and died. So you can imagine Danielle’s surprise of finding her two months old niece on her doorstep, with a note that help is underway. The help being a very hot guy, named Shawn. Danielle can ‘t believe that her sister is a secret agent. But soon after Shawn’s arrival, a first attempt of murder is being done. So, Danielle and Shawn have to flee. Which is no easy thing with a fussing baby. Together, they try to comfort Grace, while being on the run. And although it is very scary, for the first time in years, Danielle feels like part of a team instead of being alone. Which is definitely nice.
For Shawn, this pretend family is something similar to what his Sentinel partners have found. Maybe settling down is not so bad after all…
But when the threats are over, where will that leave Danielle and Shawn? Find out for yourself in this final part of the Sentinel series. Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.
Fun romantic romp with a bit of intrigue and a good amount of action. The expected strong/handsome and seemingly unattainable hero paired with our resourceful and smitten heroine, with the addition of her sister's baby and a bit of covert spy action. Kind of like "Baby Boom" with action. A quick read.
Two strangers thrown together in the most unusual and dangerous situation. In view of what's at stake, they team up and work well together.
Shawn is ex SEAL and now works for a security campany. He is tasked to protect Danielle and her niece Grace. Danielle has never met her niece and suddenly finding herself caring for a two months old. Although, she is a school teacher, she knows nothing about caring for an infant. When Shawn turns up with an explanation of why her sister left Grace in her care, she is stunned, but doesn't back down from the challenge. Together, they set out to ensure this mission is a success. They encounter countless danger which somehow brings them closer together. Then Shawn decides that he is no longer needed. He makes a sharp exit, causing heartaches. He is suffering too, but his past has a warped way of getting in the way of his feelings. When all is said and done, will they pick up where they left off?
It's an interesting concept. The characters are dedicated and loyal to their cause. Their friendship is unconditional and the romance is rocky, but ends on a beautiful note. A well paced and pleasant read.
I received an eARC from Netgalley and the views expressed are my personal opinion.
When I think of romance, I think of books just like this one, that gives all the feels and satisfies every romance junkies' heart. This is a perfect books to snuggle up with on any day. And North is an automatic 1-click for me every time.
Shawn and Danielle are constantly on the run together. Created a closeness between the two of them with only each other to rely on. I enjoyed reading Shawn's story and revisiting with the characters from books 1 and 2.
Seal's pretend family by Leslie North.
Sentinel Security Book 3.
School teacher Danielle Yesenko’s calm and predictable life is turned upside down when her sister leaves Danielle’s infant niece on her doorstep, along with a flash drive and a mysterious note. Then smoking hot former-Navy SEAL Shawn Joseph shows up, saying he was hired to help.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved Danielle and Shawn plus the rest of the team. Brennan and Maxwell. I loved the ending. I do hope there is more to come. 5*.
3.5 stars! once again, i am a sucker for a love interest that has been in the military. guilty pleasure.
- forced proximity - he’s hired to protect her from people who are trying to kidnap her
- they are pseudo parents with her sister’s baby
- every time that man picked up the baby i simply SWOONED
- lots of action, in and out of the bedroom ;)
- he’s divorced and doesn’t believe that he can love again, everyone in her life has left her and she is looking to love again. need i say anymore?
i think i would have liked more chemistry between the two love interests. i think there was so much potential for so much more much!!!
