This is a wonderful resource for developing mindfulness as a parent, cultivating emotional intelligence, and practicing gentle parenting. What I liked best is that this book includes insights and exercises not only for toddlers but also their parents. There is plenty of space devoted to the care of the parents because, obviously, you won't have much to give your kids if your own cup is not full.
There are several simple stories to help introduce mindfulness concepts to kids as well as suggestions for many activities that will help kids develop their own sense of self and coping skills. Although there is a lot of helpful information and advice, the tone is never judgy--we are all acknowledged as fully, imperfectly human. I would recommend this for any parent as well as educators and childcare providers who work with toddlers and preschoolers--there is a lot of useful information here!
Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!
