This book was super cute! I loved the nostalgia and characters. I found the flow of the book to be very relaxing and enjoyable! (Thank you Netgalley!)
This ARC was provided to me via Kindle, Avon and Harper Voyager and by #NetGalley. Opinions expressed are completely my own.
While enjoyable it’s quite predictable. It’s an easy, solid read, don’t let it’s predictability hold you back.

Cute Summer-y read by Shelley Noble! Our main character, Phoebe has officially left her fiancé who shut down the local paper that she had been working at for the last few years. Phoebe’s mom at the same time was left by Phoebe’s dad - so both decide to head to Summer Island, where Phoebe’s Grandma lives to recollect themselves and figure out their next move. Surprise surprise when they show up.. Phoebe’s Great-Aunt Vera (who is the resident wild-child of the family) is also in town for an extended period so there’s a whole house of ladies.
There’s also a subplot with Ty & Lars next door, husband who lost his wife & his son is there to take care of him through his grief. Phoebe kinda has a somewhat flirt-ship with Ty but there isn’t much drama or true romance there with that.
Overall, it’s a solid random beach read. I didn’t love it, I didn’t hate it but I did find myself bored. I feel like maybe there could’ve been more romance throughout this book? The subplot with the bakery didn’t really feel acted upon. Just overall, I didn’t get attached to any specific characters because there were SO many throughout the book that would appear and disappear randomly.
What I did like what Phoebe’s independence and her mom’s strength to move on and divorce her husband. I really like strong women and this book has a ton of it. 💪🏻
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a family fiction drama book/anyone who works for a small town paper.

I felt like this was pretty predictable and also had a lot going on. I would hardly consider this a romance, there is one couple that kisses twice and that's it. There isn't any flirting, or really banter for that matter. I think that the story would be better if it focused on Ty and Phoebe, or just the girls. It scratched a lot of surfaces but never really got very deep. I debated on whether or not to finish the book all up until I got about 60% through because the story just wasn't that compelling for me.
I think it's a fine summer read, but it just wasn't my favorite.
An easy and delightful summer read--Phoebe and her mother Ruth, both facing the end of relationships and searching for the next thing in their lives, head out to their matriarch's house on an island off the coast of what is most likely Maine. I enjoyed the sub-plots involving the cranky widower next dor, the volunteer project sin the nighborhood, and, of course, the local bakery. I recommend grabbing for a beach reach!
What a fun, romantic, and perfectly escapist rom-com! I really loved the setting of the book, and the main characters each had their own issues that they were working through in order to be better together in the end, I felt that the pacing was well structured and made sense for the story, although the ending was a little rushed in my opinion. The romance was really great, and not too forced in my opinion. Overall a great read!
I wanted to like this book so much (especially reading it in freezing cold NJ mid-winter), but I could just not get into it. Phoebe Adams loses her job and her fiancé on the same day & decides to take her mom (who is also going through a horrible time in her life) and head to her grandmother's on Summer Island. It was very predictable and I just wasn't a big fan.
This one took me a while to get into, and even then I didn’t enjoy it. Mainly because Phoebe the main character got on my nerves for pretty much the whole book. I couldn’t any reason to like her.
