This is a good book for the bidding artist or animal lover. This book is a good way to use eye hand coordination. It is done in the simplistic way but the end result is very good. Some of my favorites are the elephant, wolf, tiger and deer. I can’t draw a straight line without a ruler but with this book I did it with my Granddaughter she did great and I did pretty good. We both like to draw and it is one of the things we do together. We also both animal lovers so this book was a win win. I recommend this book for children 5-9.
Wild Animals: Learn to draw using basic shapes--step by step is a good introduction to drawing for budding artists. Though the animals are not realistically drawn, they are recognizable, basic renditions of those found in the wild. Young children will be able to follow the steps and make something of which they will be proud. I love the fact that this art book has easy instructions and bright colors, both of which will attract the little ones as well as the older children.
Wild Animals is an art book that is whimsical and fun, sure to provide hours of quiet drawing. I would definitely recommend this book only for a beginner, as more advanced young artists might quickly become bored. This would be a good addition to a home library or as a gift for a child who likes to draw and color.
Disclaimer: I was given an Advanced Reader's Copy by NetGalley and the publisher. The decision to read and review this children's book was entirely my own.
Easy how to draw book for kids. Uses shapes, and step by step, making it easy for any child to follow along.
This is a wonderful guide book for artists of all ages, especially children, to learn how to draw some of their favorite animals. The instructions are very clear.
Wild Animals is a very easy to follow guide to drawing 14 wild animals using basic shapes. The technique use is reminiscent of the old Ed Emberly methods.
This was the perfect addition for comparing pets VS wild animals component of our Pets Study from The Teaching Strategies pre-K curriculum. The simple shapes and easy-to-follow directions make this a fun resource for all ages.
Thank you to Emily Fellah, the publisher, and NetGalley for this advance readers copy in exchange for my honest review.
A big thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is a children's nonfiction (art) book. I think this is a great book-right at my level. It has lots of illustrations and step by step drawings. Well done! Thanks 4 stars
I Can Draw! Wild Animals is an appealing and simple line drawing activity book for youngsters. Released 8th Feb 2022 by Quarto on their Walter Foster Jr imprint, it's 32 pages and is available in paperback format.
The drawings are encouragingly simple and the step by step tutorials are accessible and easy to follow and replicate. Each of the 15 drawings has a tutorial series with steps to follow and some simple tips for adding color. All of the tutorials included are easy and fun. They're cute and recognizable and will be easy for anyone to follow. The subjects include animals of all shapes and sizes in different poses and with different fur and characteristics. This book is part of a series with lots of how-to books with the same format. This one shows readers how to draw elephants, hedgehogs, whales, pandas, giraffes, and 10 more.
Great selection for a gift for a young artist, perhaps with some added sketch pads and pencils. This would also make a superlative classroom or library book. I would also recommend this book to babysitters, grandparents, parents, and basically anyone who spends a fair bit of time with small kids in order to up their 'draw with me' game. I really enjoyed this and managed to follow the tutorial .
Five stars. This is a fun activity book and will provide hours amusement for all ages.
Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.
Wild Animals is a fabulous introduction to drawing for kids and adults too. The book shows each step in a clear and concise manner by detailing what to draw in the step in a different color. What I really like is that the steps are basic and never includes lots of different things to add or draw — as a result, it feels do-able and inviting for new artists. Wild Animals includes a wide variety of different things to draw, including a zebra, giraffe, hedgehog and more for a total of 15 different projects. What’s really nice is that the final step shows the drawing in color so after you finish the lines, you know how best to add color. I highly recommend this book.
As with the others in this set, it's so easy to follow! This book is super cute. I love how simple this book makes drawing different wild animals. Easy to follow step by step guide to drawing such cute illustrations. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Really cute book on drawing wild animals such as Elephants, Polar bears, Rhino, Badger, Deer, Lion and more.. It is only a small book of 30 pages, but it certainly has a lot of information and projects to learn from.
Great for kids of all ages, and adults can also get some fun out of this book.
This was a fun book for my son and I to use together. I’m still not a great at drawing but you could definitely tell what the animals were! And trust me that’s a HUGE improvement!
Fun, easy to follow drawing book for beginners. I have a child that is just starting to get into art and this is exactly what we have been looking for. We are planning to try all versions of this drawing series.
Let me begin by saying that in addition to showing us how to draw different wild animals, I have personal experience in adding that they're great diversions in an extended power outage, too. Emily Fellah has done a wonderful job bringing art down to the basics for not just children but anyone who is interested in drawing "Wild Animals". Since I live in Alaska where will animals tend to roam at will almost everywhere, including out front yards, I was naturally drawn to this book. I was disappointed not to find instructions for a moose but, hmm, with just a little tweaking of the antlers shown in the illustration creative hands created a passable moose. We'll work on that. In other words, while these instructions are basic, they can also provide the inspiration to tweak and add and create not just slightly different versions of the selected animals but others as well. The tools needed are basic, pencil, paper, eraser, and preferably some colors. Bottom line, this one is a great inspiration for all, even us big kids. Loved it, even if I hope the author will add a moose next time. It should be a hit with all ages and I'm thinking I might even try doing some rock painting with the designs.
Thanks to #NetGalley, #EmilyFellah, and #QuartoPublishingGroup – #WalterFoster for providing such a fun diversion during Alaska's recent wild wind storm with extended power outages.
This is a superb introduction to art, for young artists. The book shows easy to read, step by step lessons, which introduce the reader to art tools, and a description of how to use basic shapes, such as triangle, circle, square and rectangle, in order to draw wild animals easily. My daughter and I have had a lot of fun drawing wild animals from the book, such as elephants and bears. She really loves this series of books, and she gets really excited every time I show her a new book from the series. She has been busy drawing lots of animals from all five of the books that we have so far!
Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
