This is the first of a four-novel series. It's sort of a science fiction Horatio Hornblower series, with naval battles set in space. Duty is the primary theme. The protagonist, Seafort, experiences conflict in his duty to the military and in his duty to God. Sex scenes are juvenile and the prose style is often amateurish, but the story is carefully plotted and the future in which the story is set is well developed.
