I included this release in my weekly and monthly roundups of new releases on my Black Fiction Addiction platforms.

Where do I start? I love that a native of Hawai'i was the first Queen in the series and a bit of the history of Hawai'i. While her age was not mentioned, Lani seems to be in her 30s. Jordan also seemed to be in his 30s.

This story was full of suspense, medical settings and focus, as well as a romance started in an unexpected way. It had me guessing to the end. There were hints and twists that kept the story moving.

There are mentions of robotic surgery and more medical tech from the Kings and Knights of the Castle that was exciting. Lani, a pediatric doctor, was having her career sabotaged and had to unravel who and why. There were all of the family issues for both Lani and Jordan. There were themes of forgiveness, times to not forgive, and letting go of past hurts to embrace a loving future and redefining family.

Then there was the sex that changed to romance between Jordan and Lani as his past kept showing up to break them up. Lani's past heartbreak kept her from believing Jordan's declarations. She had a secret that she was keeping from him that she thought was a dealbreaker.

I recommend this whether you have read the Kings &/or Knights Of The Castle series or not. I'm so excited to read more of the Queens series!

The Queens have arrived to take their place, and they're not backing down. I especially loved the two main characters and how they related to each other and their feelings. The first book in this series of stand alone reads started off with a bang that kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. I did not want this book to end, and can't wait for the next book in the series.

I had a blast reading Queen of Lahaina! The tension and the intricacies of the dynamic between Lani and Jordan kept me turning the pages to find out what would happen next. For readers who are new to the romantic suspense genre, you will not be disappointed with this one. Seeing the Kings of the Castle was a nice touch, too.

This was a really good book. I enjoyed Lani and Jordan and the dynamic of their relationship. I loved that this was different feom my typical genre of urban/street romance. The characters gave a breath of fresh air and just enough drama to please my reading palate. I loved the whodunit of who was after Lani and the need to sometimes rely on family and a strong support system. At a such a trying time in my life, this book was much needed and appreciated!

The Queen of Lahaina grabs your attention on page one and doesn't let it go. The mix of suspense combined with sultry undertones keep you turning the pages till the very end. I needed to know how Lani and Jordan's story would end. This was an enjoyable way to start my winter break and I am looking forward to reading the rest of the Queens series.

I truly enjoyed reading Queen of Lahaina. Lani and Jordan's story was fraught with peril and a list of people that were only too happy to do them harm. Every character was richly developed and memorable, even the shady ones. It was great seeing the Kings of the Castle represented as well. The chemistry and love bouncing between Lani and Jordan was palpable and captivated my attention from start to finish.

I was intrigued from the start. The story captured my attention in the first chapter. The pace, the romance and the suspense was there and kept the pages turning as I followed the story.

I really enjoyed Queen of Lahaina's story. I found myself so caught up in this story with heartbreak, twist, turns, ups, downs and mysteries that'll have you guessing and trying to figure out who could be behind it all. Just when you think you have it all figured out a curve is thrown in and It's amazing how it draws you in even deeper. I'm not sure how Lani survived such a sad and heartbreaking childhood because of her parents and others during her adulthood. Jordan may have come into Lani life under discreet circumstances with his own drama, but when you're soul mates nothing else should matter. My heart broke in the beginning of the book with how Lani's day started, but one thing I can say is that Lani and Jordan definitely deserve the blessings bestowed to them by the end. This is a great stand alone book but, I recommend if you haven't already read The Kings of the Castles series, and The Knights of the Castle series you should if for no other reason but to become familiar and fall in love with the characters in these books because they will be making appearances in The Queen of the Castleseries. We meet Dr. Lani Jamison when she's thrust in the middle of an emergency. She's strong, capable, and cares about the infants she's giving treatment. But someone wants her career ruined and Lani will have to follow the clues and find the culprit.

She has help in the person of Jordan Spears, a man who fulfills some of her needs and wants to play a more important part in her life. He has his own issues and together, they must conquer their individual and combined problems.

I enjoyed the push and pull of their relationship as it developed and the fact that Lani came to realize what a treasure she has in Jordan. If I took away anything from this book, it is the importance of family and other support systems in our lives. Of course, the presence of a romantic man (who knows his way around the bedroom) sweetens that deal.

I enjoyed this book so much!! I read the first chapter, then sent Naleighna Kai a text, with a curse word, because I could not read this book when I received it!! I had to work! But i did get a chapter in! When I got off from work - I read that book and did not (could not) stop until I read the entire book! The characters, character parings and the adventures were so good and I could not get enough of it and could not wait to turn the page to finish reading. I have read it twice now!! I cannot wait to read the rest of the Queen's books!

Queen of Lahaina storyline was well written. It had all the elements of several genres all in one place of romance, friends to Lovers , family drama and secrets, intrigued, mystery and suspense and HEA. I was drawn in from the beginning until the end. There were a lot of plot twist and turns which I loved.
Lani Jamison is a doctor who is working with the Kings of the Castle to develop a robotic machinery that can do surgery to save lives. Someone is out to sabatogage Dr. Jamison and her job at the hospital.
Jordan Spears is a handsome man who is involved with a business that women use to be serviced secretly and now he wants to leave but someone is trying to keep him from getting out.
This story kept me guessing of trying to figure out who was trying to destroy Lani's career I was surprised to find out who it was, a character I didn't even suspect as I did others.
I highly recommend this book to read. I am looking forward to meeting the other Queens in this series and their story.

Queen of Lahaina kicks off the highly anticipated spin-off series, Queens of the Castle! The NK Tribe keeps us coming back to the enchanting castle where the magic happens, but just not of the fairy tale kind. Everything about The Castle is business, protection, and dealing with all types of situations locally and internationally.

I enjoyed Jordan and Lani's journey. It took a unique path, and easy it was not, but love has a way of intervening. Their families were something to behold and a whole story by itself. It added insight to the depths of their character. I'm hoping to revisit a few of the family members as I have some unfinished business with a few of them.

Being the first book, we get a lot of information at once, with all the suspense, family drama, and "what the" Or "seriously" twist, so savor the chapters as it unfolds nicely at the end.

I look forward to the rest of the series and the excitement of all the new characters we are sure to meet.

Heart Pounding!

Queen of Lahaina is a fast paced read that left me breathless at the end of every chapter. Lani and Jordan’s love is a new kind of classic for romantic suspense fans everywhere. Each character was painted in such a way that you couldn’t help but love or hate them with a passion. I stayed up way past my bedtime to finish this book and was not disappointed. I was hooked from page one, and you will be too.
