Scattered, uninteresting, and completely not engaging. Also, it feels like the rough draft was published with no edits at all.
This book is a quick read, it’s almost too quick and needs more ‘fleshing out’.
Holly seem to like the idea of Ben being in her life, I don’t know if I thought that!
Ben and Holly just didn’t become believable for me, I needed more of a connection.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I’m pretty easy to please when it comes to short steamy novellas, particularly if they involve my favorite tropes, as this one does. Unfortunately this one didn’t do anything for me. The relationships and motivations of the characters felt very shallow, which made it difficult to get invested, and the writing was clunky and in need of editing. I’d say it’s also misleadingly labeled as erotica: there’s nothing steamy until one short scene at the very end.
Thank you to The Wild Rose Press, Inc and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Absolutely incredible book, I’ve finished this book in just a few hours. The story is so sweet and is the perfect book to read around Christmas time. The book is well written and ended perfectly. If you’re looking for a cute romantic book to read I would highly recommend this one.
This book was a cute concept and I'm a sucker for the enemies to lovers trope, but this book didn't do it for me. I didn't care for the characters, Holly was too insecure and immature and I just plain didn't like Ben. The dialouge also wasn't my favorite and felt like it could have flowed better, but overall I would have liked it more if I liked the characters.
I would like to thank Netgalley for providing me with this arc. This book was too cute. Just a fun, easy, sweet read.
A super cute enemies to lovers novella!
It had enough to keep you interest, enough sweet melt your heart kind of romance with a little touch of spice.
Also the sugar cookie recipe at the end was adorable.
Special thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for a free, electronic ARC of this novel received in exchange for an honest review
This was a great short read but it was TOO short! I felt like a huge chunk of the storyline was just skipped over because it was meant to stay short and I wanted to read more about what happened. It's still a good read but I litererally said "wait, what?!" when I saw "one year later" with no accounting for what happened in that year, and clearly it was a lot!
3 stars. Thank you Netgalley for the arc. This book was exactly what I thought it would be. Cute holiday romance. Enemies to lovers. A little smutty, a little funny, a little cute. My issue was the main character was so immature, insecure, and unlikable. Cute concept but didn't quite do it.
I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher through netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This book is well written and the characters are described well. I absolutely enjoyed Holly and Ben's characters. This book is set in Boston and mentions New York. This is a fantastic Christmas romance book. It is a fast paced romance. I absolutely highly recommend reading this book to anyone and everyone. This ebook is in stores for $2.99 (USD).
The cover didn’t really reel me in, it seemed kind of cheesy but I read the blurb and thought it might be worth the read and boy was I right! I LOVE this novella. It’s short and sweet yet it has the perfect amount of steam. 🔥 It also includes a recipe at the end which I found adorable. Soooo good!! Will definitely check out this author’s other books.
A huge thank you to Backlit PR and NetGalley for the copy of ebook on exchange for my honest review. ❤️
