I enjoyed reading this book because l learned about the work of light house keepers when they had to light the light each night
There was an interesting storyline The two main characters were both connected to the lighthouse. One being the daughter of the present lighthouse keeper and the assistant keeper.. They worked together and rescued two boys. and finally found happiness together.
The lighthouse is an interesting setting for a book - and I wanted to really enjoy the story, but it partially didn't seem finished/polished.
Lisbet is the lighthouse keeper's daughter, and hopes to take over from her father when the time comes. Hale is the secondary keeper that lives there, too. The parents are going to take a trip and there is need for a temporary keeper - both Hale and Lisbet want to take the challenge. However, her father decides to pit them against each other in a competition to see who is best suited. After losing a couple challenges, Lisbet gives up and goes into seclusion. That was disappointing - she seemed like such a strong character. Then there is her art - it's mentioned in the beginning but not again. Seems there could have been more storyline there, too.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for a temporary, digital ARC in return for my review.
