Another brilliant book from Emma Tallon.
It was great to catch up with the Drew family again, especially after the ending of the last book.
Lily is desparate for Ruby to recover and is determined to get revenge on Grace for starting the fire.
Scarlet has a huge shock when the person she’s grown close to, isn’t who she thinks he is.
I won’t say too much about the storyline as there’s lots of things interlinked and I wouldn’t want to spoil it for you.
This is a gripping gangland crime thriller that will definitely have you hooked.
I love the characters in this series and can’t wait to find out what happens next.
Highly recommend this series.
Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.

How have I never read any of Emma Tallon’s books before this book was brilliant. I love the fact that it was a thriller from a gangsters point of view and unlike anything else I’ve ever read before.

The Drew family are the top dogs they look out for one another and nothing is more important to them than their own family. They look out for each other and have each other’s backs. When Lily Drew’s youngest daughter is in their working factory which is burnt to the ground and left with life changing injuries Lily vows to get revenge on Grace who was responsible for the attack.

Lily’s family rally around her and come together in order to take revenge on Grace and I must say this family is brutal I would not want to cross the Drew’s. This book had me asking myself is there anything this family wouldn’t do.

Else where in this book Lily’s niece Scarlett finds herself in hot water after she is arrested and is shocked to find that the police officer interviewing her is in fact her current boyfriend. Lily wonders how on earth she is going to help Scarlett escape her fate in prison with the evidence mounted against her and a chance it could bring the whole family down.

I didn’t realise at the time of starting this book that it was part of a series. So I did read it as a stand alone thriller which did work however I’d recommend reading the other books in this series prior to reading her betrayal as I did find it very hard to work out the history and lines that some of the other books may have set out. That being said I can’t wait to go back and read the first 2 books to find out what’s what!

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for an advance copy of this book in exchange for this review.

The Drews return and this time Revenge is on their minds…
One of my fav ‘Gangland/Family Drama’ authors combined with one of my fav families at the moment in books meant I knew I would love it
This the 3rd book in the Drew Family series can be read as a stand alone but for me best read as part of the series as it’s so good
All the favourite characters are back and its payback time, no one causes harm to any of the Drew’s and gets away with it
It was interesting to see how one of the main characters, Ruby, changed after suffering a near death experience, I used to loathe her but in this book I warmed to her, she showed a very different vulnerable side although it looks like in Book 4 she is back as the Ruby we know and errr love 😎🤗
This book is just perfect if this is you’re genre and if it’s not it is a great read/series to try and see what makes these books so enticing
Real life, dark at times, family and high drama made this an easy

10/10

After the cliff hanger at the end of Her Rival, I had high hopes for this book. And I was not disappointed.
Emma Tallon provides plenty of background to remember the massive fire Grace started to even the score.
Lily struggles with Ruby's coma and long recovery ahead.
Scarlett discovers her boyfriend, John, is the lead detective on the fire case. And that irritating obssesed detective working hard to bring murder charges against her.
Fast paced, chilling and so well done.
Ready for the next!

Book: Her Betrayal
Author: Emma Tallon
Genre: Mystery/Thriller
Publisher: Bookoutoure
Pub Date: February 15. 2022
My Rating: 3.7

This is the third book featuring the ‘Drew Family’.
I have not read the other two ~ first one was “Her Revenge” and then “Her Rival”.
The book includes a little about these two novels as well as many of Ms. Tallon’s other stories

In this story, after Scarlet Drew’s father’s death, Scarlet finds herself the head of the family’s crime business in London. She is working with her Aunt Lily on getting back at rival Grace Dupont, the woman who set their factory on fire with Lily’s daughter Ruby trapped inside and nearly died.

I went into this with extremely high expectations as the reviews all were 5 stars.

It started out interesting and I have to admit I was curious. I soon thought~ “This doesn’t seem like a 5 star story to me!” Hung in there and glad I did!
The ending was exciting!

I liked most of the characters; I do enjoy stories about likeable strong women
Additionally, I was glad a certain character got what she deserved.

I always enjoyed reading the Author’s Acknowledgements.
In this case, author:, Emma Tallon includes ~ “A Letter from Emma”!
In it she mentioned how we readers must have struggled with the contrasting sides of Ruby.
She said it was difficult for her as well.
So Yep! Now I am curious about Book #4

Want to thank NetGalley and Bookouture for this eGalley. This file has been made available to me before publication in an early form for an honest professional review.
Publishing Release Date scheduled for February 15. 2022.

I’d like to thank Bookouture and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘Her Betrayal’ written by Emma Tallon in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

‘Her Betrayal’ continues the story of the Drew family from where ‘Her Rival’ ended. Scarlet is fast becoming an important member of their gangland family as together with her Aunt Lily and cousins Cillian and Connor they grow ever stronger and make sure no one underestimates what they’re capable of. As Lily’s daughter Ruby is recovering from being trapped in their burning factory, Lily intends to punish those responsible for starting the fire, and Scarlet doesn’t realise that the man she’s fast losing her heart to is in fact a police officer.

This is another powerful gangland thriller that doesn’t hold back with the bloodthirsty and ruthless retribution when crossed by their enemies. The more I read about the Drew family the greater my enjoyment of these books that are well-written with lots of excitement, suspense and drama, so much so that I was unable to stop reading. This an addictive and highly readable thriller and as Ruby is portrayed as being a loose cannon with a hatred of Scarlet, I can’t wait to find out what happens next.

Imagine being in a mob family, you are brought in for questioning by the police, and find out John (the man you just started dating) is the cop across the table questioning you? (Oops!) 😲

Scarlet Drew and her Aunt Lily run a very "colorful" (under the table) organized crime business. Lily's daughter Ruby is trapped in a family owned factory set on fire by a arsonist. This horrific crime leaves Ruby disfigured and in a coma clinging to life. Will Ruby survive this heinous crime? Scarlet and Lily know the perpetrator, but can they find this person in time to seek justice? Will Scarlet's "new boyfriend" John put her behind bars for the rest of her life?

For answers to these questions, read Emma Fallon's gripping new book "Her Betrayal". The action packed novel will capture the reader and bring them into the intense Drew family dynamic. This is the third book in the 'Drew Family" series. I have not read the other two books, but this worked great as a standalone.

Warning: Violence

Thank you so much NetGalley and Bookouture, for allowing me to review this thrilling e-book. What an exciting adventure "Her Betrayal" took me on! It will be published February 15, 2022.

I have just finished this book and I absolutely loved it!!! The book had me from the very first page and I just wanted to keep reading until I know what was going to happen.
The writing style reminds me of Martina Cole, (another great author) and the story was set in the London underworld.
I thought Lily was a great strong lead character and to be honest, I really hope Emma writes another book about this family, as I would really enjoy hearing what other antics they are getting up to. I would also like to know how Ruby progresses into the "family business" too!!!
Thank you so much Net Galley for letting me read this book, I really enjoyed it and can't wait to read more of Emma's books.

Another superb book by Emma Tallon as we catch up on the Drew family, and they’re pitted up against Grace who they stole the painting from the in the last book. With Ruby back in the fold and looking to scupper Scarlets plans it makes for a great read once again, all the usual family are back Lily,Conner,Cillian and with Grace giving them trouble Lily has a big job on her hands trying to keep her at bay, and the with other firms that are trying their luck believing the Drews are on the way down it is a hard time for them all.Once again Emma Tallon has delivered a great instalment in this series, the books should be read in order in my opinion as you get can a feel for the characters and learn more about them.A great addition to the series and I can’t wait for the next book,a knockout of a book and I can highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys this genre.

Head of the family crime business, and with a new guy in her life, things have never been better for Scarlet Drew. Working with her aunt Lily on their biggest ever job - revenge on the woman who set fire to their factory, with Lily's daughter trapped inside - Scarlet is suddenly dragged into the local police station to answer questions about the death of a local gangster. The face she sees across the table shocks her.

I'm a huge fan of Emma Tallon. I have read all of her books and they never disappoint. This is a gripping, action packed, edge of your seat read. I didn't want the book to end. The pace is fast and full of twists. The story follows on from where the last book ended. There's a lot going on in this book. There is some violence involved but it wouldn't be a gangland crime story without it. I also loved the ending.

I would like to thank #NetGalley #Bookouture and the author #EmmaTallon for my ARC of #HerBetrayal in exchange for an honest review.

Not the best crime series but there was something intriguing about the characters and the story that kept me going. I requested this book, was approved, and then went to Amazon to purchase all the ones that came before. I finished the whole series, including this most recent one, in a week.

Definitely recommend reading in order, if not, you will be lose out on the characters dynamic and relationships.

If you are looking for a fast, crime series to read, this is it.

Thank you #netgalley and #bookouture for the eARC.

Having read the first two books in the series, was eagerly waiting for this one. As with the previous two, this is excellent gang-crime writing, and is a good follow-up where book 2 left off.

I thought ‘Her Rival’ ended quite abruptly but I suppose it was entirely deliberate to sustain interest in the series. Lily who has taken over the company after her brother’s murder (which she & her niece Scarlet avenge) is now up against Grace who is a rival who will not give up. Lily’s daughter Ruby suffers injuries & is in recovery after their factory is burnt in an act of retribution. Scarlet is in trouble with the police and this time it looks tough to get away. Scarlet is taken aback once she realizes that John who is dating might actually spell trouble for the family. As a result of all this the opponents of the Drew family feel they are at their weakest, and it is the right time to encroach on their business. Lily offers Grace a compromise where they can work together. The first job they agree to pull off will tell if this partnership will hold.

Strong female characters, good character development & a fast paced story. The violence is not graphic but some of it is still a little disturbing for the imagery it evokes (especially a sequence towards the end). A series I have come to enjoy reading. It is clear from some of inner thoughts of Ruby towards the end of the book, and the author’s afterword that another book in the series is in the offing. I do look forward to that.

If the genre interests you, this is an excellent series.

My rating: 4.5 / 5.

Her Betrayal is the third book featuring the Drew Family.

The story starts with a fire and Lily's daughter Ruby caught inside. After she is rescued and taken to the hospital Lily sits by her bedside hoping for the best and how to make crime family rival Grace pay for hurting her daughter. Scarlett has been brought raised in the criminal underworld, and she knows how to take care of herself and the family. Scarlett has been summoned to the police station for her part in the murder of another crime family member's murder. When her boyfriend enters the interrogation room, she immediately suspects that he was undercover to trap her and has now blown his cover.

The story has multiple crime families who are continuously trying to outmaneuver each other and takeover each other's business. This is a fast read, but it is also action packed as you would expect in a crime family drama. There is a lot going on in this book, and everyone seems to have an angle. It should be no surprise that there are many underlying cons going on that are not always obvious to the reader. The buildup to the finale is quite masterful, unexpected and very satisfying.

Thanks to Emma and NetGalley for allowing me to read Her Betrayal, the third book in the Drew series, before the publication date.

Lily is head of the Drew crime family, with twin sons, Cillian and Connor, providing the muscle.
Her daughter, Ruby, is a difficult character with a history of drug abuse and an explosive temper.
Ruby is jealous of her cousin, Scarlet, who is a trusted member of the firm. She also hates Lily’s gentleman friend, Ray Renshaw, a south London crime boss.

Scarlet has a new boyfriend, John. Following the death of a London thug, Scarlet is arrested and is shocked to find that the detective taking part in the interview is John. Was he working undercover to trap her?

With recent events impacting on the Drew’s reputation, they are exposed to attacks from multiple sources who are keen to take over the Drew turf.

Can Lily show that the Drews are still a firm who are not to be taken lightly?

I found this to be a difficult book to review without giving away too much of the story. Emma has managed to create characters who lead the reader down one path, only to show a totally different side of their character to great effect.
It would make an excellent TV drama, albeit with a warning that it contains violence.

This is book #3 of the Drew family series. Whilst it’s part of a series, it can be read as a standalone read. We meet again the Drew family, a London crime gang. Scarlet Drew has picked up the reins after her father was killed, and is working alongside her Aunt Lily and cousins, Cillian and Connor. Revenge is high on the cards after what happened at the end of the last book, but Scarlet also has more things to worry about when she is pulled in by the police to answer questions about the death of a local gangster.

I’ve really enjoyed this series and equally enjoyed this latest instalment. The Drew women are certainly a force to be reckoned with, particularly Lily Drew. Revenge is definitely a dish best served cold, and Lily certainly keeps the recipient on ice whilst she works out what this revenge will consist of! The author’s portrayal of Lily’s character puts great pictures into my head as I read of what Lily would look like, and I love how, despite never having anything to with any gangland families, everything is so realistic…you can feel the fear and violence oozing out of the pages!

This storyline is fast paced, but with the usual violence and bad language, so beware if easily offended. Of course, it’s all in keeping with the theme of the book and certainly added to the tension throughout. The Drew family are trying to hold everything together following what happened to Ruby and Scarlet, and the only way to do this is to show the other rival gangs who’s the boss! There are lots of twists and turns to the plot and the author has cleverly managed to fit so much into the storyline, lining up the next book in the series with another jaw-dropper of an ending!

The author has yet again managed to set my teeth on edge throughout, and even my stomach churning with a particularly savage way of getting rid of an enemy! Favourite character, bar Lily of course, has to be newcome Billie! Is she really a natural gangland woman, or does she have an ulterior motive? Either way, I really liked the integration of her character slowly into the family! I also loved a quick visit from a couple of characters from the previous series, it’s always nice to see the Tylers! The author has left us with so many unanswered questions…what happens next with Ruby…can John hold his nerve…and does Lily finally get it together with Ray??? I seriously can’t wait until the next book to see what happens. This author is most definitely the Queen of Gangland Crime! Would recommend!!

When you are presented by a new book by Emma Tallon, you know it is going to be good. Her Betrayal by the author is another excellent read.
Scarlett Drew is working with her Aunt Lily to get revenge on the factory burning down and Cousin Ruby nearly dying along with it. Scarlett has been brought up in the criminal underworld, so she knows how to handle herself.
When she is called in to the Police Station being accused of murdering a local gangster. She finds out that her boyfriend is a copper. She automatically assumes that he was with her, to be undercover to take the gang down.
The story continues with the rivalry between the Italian mob who wants to take the Drews down as they think they have weaken and getting revenge on Grave Dupont with the burning down of the factory.
This is another brilliant gripping page turner in the Drew series. It has a great story line full of action, it well-paced and great characters. All that you could want for a fan of Gangland crime. I also liked how to author wrote a few pages with the Tylers in it. (Miss them.) 5 stars from me.

A book by this author is always such a treat. Even before I open it, I know I am going to love it and she delivers each and every time.

Her characters are not the most kind people except when it comes to family. They will always come first and most be protected no matter what or who they hurt or have to take revenge on in the process.

The boss of a gangland family is often a man, but don’t underestimate the ladies. They can be as cruel, as vicious as any man. So watch out for the families with a lady boss.

I love the scheming in these books. When you think the family is with the back against the wall, well…

This is true entertainment from the beginning until the last page and I never want the books to end. I just cannot get enough.

As I mentioned before, I was very sad when the previous series came to an end. I still miss Mr Tyler. Am I the only one… 😉

This author’s books want to make me read and read, because they are soo good. On the other hand I want to put them away sometimes to make the pleasure last, because they are soo good, but I cannot help myself. Once I start, I cannot seem to stop. 5 stars

Thank you
