Lucy is living her life as she can. Playing the Disney characters but not the big breaks and doing jobs here and there to make ends meet. That is until one day she has an accident and she has zero memory of the last decade and oh a shaved head after waking up from a coma. She has to navigate her new life trying to find herself again in the last 10 years. The humor was different I must say. Some times kind of crass but overall funny. This was the first book by this author that I’ve read. This book is the fifth in the series. I don’t believe you need to read the rest to enjoy the book.

Once I started reading this book I realised this was part of a series I had not read. This being book 5, all based on the lives of these sisters.
I really enjoyed it but I felt a little disconnected and felt like I probably should’ve read the previous four..

Overall it was a good read

This was a fun enough read, however although the premise was really intriguing, it didn't keep me hooked throughout.

This book is a struggle. It took me forever to finish because I had to stop often to have breaks from this main character. I'm not one who needs a likable main character...in fact, I often like books where the main character has a ton of flaws. But this woman....I just can't. The humor was ok, the banter was fine, but she was just cloying. I usually like the memory loss trope if it's done well, but this one didn't work for me. This book just didn't work for me.

This was not the romance that I expected- the beginning was a little confusing, especially since it wasn't the first in the series. I liked the message about appreciating your family and friends, but I don't think the humor was quite right for me.

Funny and fun. Waking up with no memory sounds like no fun at all but going on a journey to rediscover your memory, that turns out to be the most fun! A light, airey read. Not taking, sweet, charming and funny. Lovely for when you want a feel good read

I wanted to love this book based on its title but i honestly couldn’t get into it. I think others would still love it. It has great potential it just wasn’t for me.

I have recently had the pleasure of reading "Am I Allergic To Men," another book in The Callaghan Sisters series. Despite reading it out of order, I found the book stood on its own and was truly delightful. The book is a breath of fresh air, with a modern feel and Bailey's signature sense of humour throughout. It is an easy read that can be picked up effortlessly.

The protagonist, Lucy Callaghan, is a wonderfully lovable and emotionally driven character. Her bond with her sisters is heartwarming, and I particularly enjoyed the scenes where they were together. The book is truly a testament to the power of sibling relationships.

What really stood out to me about this read, was the completely unpredictable conclusion. It left me on the edge of my seat and wanting more. I am thrilled to say that I plan on reading the rest of the series by the end of 2023 and would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys this genre.

Overall, this book is a must-read for anyone looking for a fun, heartwarming, and engaging stor

Quick and enjoyable read, I would definitely be interested in picking up the other books in the series! I enjoyed the character development but don’t understand how the title links to the story really

All of Kirsten’s books about the Callaghan sisters have been laugh out loud funny and this one is no different. This one is about Lucy, the party girl sister but not in a way you would think
Read them all, you will not be disappointed

It started out very promising but halfway through i started to lost interest in the story and the character itself. But overall it was an okay read for me but could have been better.

I am bereft at finishing Am I Allergic To Men? as it means I have to say goodbye to the Callaghan sisters. I’ve enjoyed each of their stories and I am genuinely sad that the journey is over.

Lucy was always my favourite of the sisters and her story didn’t disappoint. As I expected Lucy’s dialogue really made me laugh and I loved her antics. I also enjoyed the exploration of recovering from a serious injury and the notion of living within amnesia.

As with the other books in this series, the whole family are at the centre and I think this is what kept me invested. However as an only child I’m so sad that I’ll never experience this camaraderie firsthand.

What can I say more than “I loved it”? It was funny, it had a little mistery, I laughed out loud more than once and my roommate probably hated me because she was trying to sleep while I cackled in my pillow!

This book was okay, it wasn't bad but not good either. It just fell flat for me and the characters were not my favourite.

BOOK REVIEW

BOOK: Am I Allergic to Men?
AUTHOR: Kristen Bailey
FORMAT: eBook
RATING: DNF (did not finish)

MY THOUGHTS

I started this book and found that I had a lot of difficulty connecting to the story. I did not finish it, not for lack of quality of the book but more so that I felt it was a “right book wrong time” situation where I wasn’t in the right mindset for this one at this time! Hopefully will be picking it back up in the future!

This ARC was provided by the publisher through Netgalley in an exchange for an honest review, I'm extremely grateful to them.

We have a trying-hard main character who had a coma & lost 10 years of memory. This book is not it for me.

Oh this was such a FUN and hilarious book. I quickly found so much relatable to this story. The main character Lucy was a little much for me, but her character truly made the story as entertaining as it was.
