Another enjoyable set of samples, I always enjoyed reading these and it's great for selecting books to add to my 'to read' list.
Another amazing sampler. I absolutely love seeing these and what they have for future releases. This gives you just the right amount of content to decide if you really want to support the author and content provided!
This is a useful publication to determine which upcoming titles to request for review. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Thank you Buzz Books for another wonderful line up of new releases to watch out for. I love these guides and always end up with a higher TBR pile as a result of reading these .
I was excited to read this one and see some of the buzz for upcoming books! Excited to see what is coming!
A great idea! Loved this book buzz packet provided by Publishers Lunch. Looking forward to the next one!
The Buzz Books 2022: Spring/Summer was useful reading when prepping for Spring/Summer reading last year. I look forward to these guides every season.
Thank you for this preview! I'm excited to read many of these books, but especially The Secret Life of Albert Entwistle, Iona Iverson's Rules for Commuting, This Time Tomorrow, Remarkably Bright Creatures, and The Rumor Game.
I always love the buzz books. Helps me keep up on what's coming out soon and helps me plan what I want to read.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC digital copy. I was not compensated for this review and all opinions are my own.
BuzzBooks offers such a great variety of upcoming releases!
This was definitely brilliant! Thankful to have come across this sample of buzzy forthcoming books, loved being able to anticipate stellar books, some of which have recently hit bookshelves. I also met a few of these authors mid-book tour, particularly Abdulrazak Gurnah, whose writing is so tranquil and self-assured.
Unfortunately, Jumi Bello's highly anticipated novel was dropped due to plagiariasm, but otherwise, all the authors here were a pleasure to come across!
I always really enjoy these book samplers! My only feedback is that all the samples should be roughly the same length! Some are quite long and others are very short! This collection had almost all new authors for me, so it was great to become exposed to different authors.
This review was also published on Goodreads.
This was a fun "sampler" of many books being published this year. I was admittedly a little to getting around to reading this one, so many of the books that I read excerpts of are available now (which is great for me!).
I had never read a "book" like this before and it could be challenging to shift my entire focus to a new excerpt, so I tried to only read this in limited increments until I worked my way through the whole thing. Sometimes I would get so wrapped up in what I was reading, I'd forget it was an excerpt...until it ended.
I'm happy to say that reading this has put several new books on my radar, including Helltown, With Prejudice, Nora Goes Off Script, The Last White Man, A Tiny Upward Shove, and Sister Stardust, just to name a few. I definitely added more of the selections than not to my TBR. I was also excited to see an excerpt of "Take My Hand" included, as that has been my favorite book of 2022 so far.
What is really cool is that at the end of most excerpts there is a link to download the full galley on NetGalley!
Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to access this in exchange for my honest review.
Thanks for this opportunity to preview a wide variety of books. I always look forward to these compilations.
I’m a bit late with my review on this, but there was so much to read here that I had to make my way slowly through it, choosing my selections. By now, many of these books have already been published to great acclaim. Among the notable fiction books (fiction is mostly what I read) sampled here are:
Horse, by Geraldine Brooks
The Secret Life of Albert Entwistle, by Matt Cain
The Last White Man, by Mohsin Hamid
Two Nights in Lisbon, by Chris Pavone
This Time Tomorrow, by Emma Straub
The Mutual Friend, by Carter Bays
Keya Das’s Second Act, by Sopan Deb
Calling For a Blanket Dance, by Oscar Hokeah
Death and The Conjuror, by Tom Mead
Nora Goes Off Script, by Annabel Monaghan
Remarkably Bright Creatures, by Shelby Van Pelt
By The Book, by Jasmine Guillory
There’s also a lot of interesting sounding non-fiction.
I really love these samplers!
Originally got this to check out new books but in the end I didn't really read any stories at all. might check out some of the books featured in this in the near future.
I always appreciate when Publisher's Lunch puts this out because not only do I get to read sneak peeks of what's coming out but I always discover some new authors and books I didn't know were coming out. This is a great resource to have on hand, especially if you are a blogger like me. I tend to keep track of the books I have read snippets of to buy on release date
Five Stars!
I look forward to these Buzz Books Catalogs every season. My TBR always gets REALLY big whenever I get one -- and this one is no exception. Dozens of great reads to look forward to -- from non-fiction gems like Long Train Runnin’: Our Story of The Doobie Brothers and Nerd: Adventures in Fandom from this Universe to the Multiverse by Maya Phillips to novels including new ones from CJ Box, Linwood Barclay, and Kathy Reichs ... It's gonna be a good year. Thanks so much to NetGalley and Publishers Lunch Buzz Books for making these catalogs available!
As with every Buzz Books, the 2022 Spring/Summer preview filled up my TBR. From new books by old favorites to new-to-me authors, this truly has something for everyone. I’ve already read several that have been highlights of my year thus far, including Sloane Crosby’s Cult Classic and Chris Pavone’s Two Nights in Lisbon.
Thank you so much for this sampler! There are always so many books included it's almost too overwhelming - my TBR doesn't need it! (Or does it...) Honestly though, it's a great way to highlight upcoming releases and I love going through and seeing what I might want to read.
