This is always the best way to learn about new releases! I am excited for so many Spring and Summer releases! Instagram @carolinehoppereads
I look forward to these preview books every year. Buzz Books does a great job putting what's most interesting about the books up front and introducing you to new authors along the way. I love the way the book is organized to get you hooked with highly anticipated features before introducing you to impressive new folks. I never would have picked up a book like "Sister Stardust" or "After Lives" because of the covers and genre, but with the summary up front, I was hooked. Thanks NetGalley for the free copy in exchange for an honest review!
I loved this book / pamphlet.
It gave me information on books that I didn't know were coming out and that interested me. I also helped add to my TBR list and to my bookshelf.
I am really glad that I was able to read this.
This was a lovely set of excerpts from upcoming books! I'm excited for this new book season! I look forward to reading the full version of some of these texts and seeing how the general public reviews these titles as well
Thank you to NetGalley and Publishers Lunch for the opportunity to read Book Buzz 2022: Spring/Summer to sneak peek upcoming books..
I have never reviewed a book like this so I am not sure what to say.other than every book excerpt leaves you wanting more. My literary tastes are all over the place so Buzz Books was perfect for me because there was a little bit of everything; historical fiction, women's fiction, YA, humor, paranormal and more. It was similar to reading a book of short stories.
Almost all of the books are still available for request. How to decide! I can't request them all (or can I?). Two books that I was interested in, Take My Hand and The Hacienda, are "wish for it" titles. I wished for The Hacienda because the description said that it was like Mexican Gothic meets Rebecca. I love both of those books and even before I finished reading the first chapter I knew I wanted to read it! I am keeping my fingers crossed....
Other titles that stand out (for me) are:
Booth
Bless Your Heart
The Seamstress of New Orleans
Two Nights in Lisbon
This Time Tomorrow
This is a great selection of previews of new books on the horizon. I loved the variety and reading new to me authors. Thanks to Netgalley for sharing this.
so helpful! Always love the buzz books catalogs. I wish I could just automatically request each one for each season.
Great new books coming out. Particularly looking forward to Horse, Booth, and Take My Hand. These books are all written by women, about various subjects that are important and not being shoved off as unimportant. I will be watching for their publication.
Although I'd seen the Buzz Books listed on NetGalley from time to time, I'd never looked at one. This volume contains first chapters or excerpts of books being released in spring or summer of this year.
What a treat! Most of them seemed to be books that I would enjoy reading. In particular, Horse (Geraldine Brooks) and Booth (Karen Joy Fowler) intrigued me. Although I've heard of these authors, I'd never before read any of their work.
The only negative is that reading this Buzz Book does require a significant time outlay. My e-reader estimated about 14 hours. I read all of them all the way through, even the three or four that just weren't my cup of tea.
It seems like a great idea to get excerpts of so many upcoming books under one cover. I'd do it again-- maybe in a few months.
This includes several books I am interested in reading. I enjoy the previews of the different books that will be coming soon.
I always look forward to these! Such a fun chance to see all the upcoming books! This one didn't fall to live up to my expectations!
I just went through my Buzz Books and made a list of titles to watch out for this summer! Buzz Book is the easiest way for me to stay in the know about upcoming books. Thank you!
Buzz Books is again an indispensable read to make a more informed choice on what to read and purchase this coming season. the mix of famous published authors and new and upcoming as well as the mix of genres makes it always a pleasure to read.
Thank you NetGalley and Publishers Lunch for the Buzz Books 2022: Spring/Summer! It's such a perfect way to narrow down books to request to read in full, especially those I'm considering for summer creative writing classes.
Another collection of samples giving a great insight into upcoming book titles.
I love getting an insight into new titles regardless of whether I get to read the full book or not.
Helpful overview of forthcoming new releases; especially constructive to be able to partake of a brief snippet of each book. As a YA librarian, I appreciated the specific YA section, and the summary preceding each sample.
Thank you so much to Netgalley for allowing me to get different excerpts from books being released in the Spring and Summer. These stories look fantastic. The only ones I dont find that interesting are the westerns or the ones that deal with horses. There are so many thrillers being released in the next few months. I always love getting these excerpts to read early on.
Being new to NetGalley this book is a wonderful way for me to become familiar with new offerings for the season and find the next read that appeals to me.. Sometimes a synopsis is not enough to be certain that the book is a good fit for you. Being able to read an excerpt makes a huge difference for me in selecting one in which I can give an honest and fair review. I was excited to read the excerpt from A Coin For The Ferryman and even more so when I was approved!
These buzz books are great for a sampling of what’s coming in the months ahead. You get a good idea of the writing style of a bunch of authors.
I LOVE Buzz Books and look forward to the new selections each season. I also happily share this out with my blog followers and in my three FaceBook book clubs, two of which are for librarians.
I do miss the YA Book Buzz from a few years ago though. These were fabulous to share with my students and get their recommendations for what they would like to see in the library. Please bring it back!
As it is, I've read all the YA selections so far, with my favorites being The Rumor Game by Dhonielle Clayton and Sabaa Tahir's All My Rage. I'm currently working on the adult selections in chronological order. I am likely to read the first entry, Babitt's First Victim.
