I have a ambivalent attitude to the Buzz Books, on the one hand it is a marvellous treat to have such a wide ranging spectrum of upcoming books coming up, the samples are a temptation that have me wanting to read far too many books covered, a source of frustration. However, Buzz books is required reading for me, I just have to know what is coming up, and getting a good idea of what I will be wanting to read. There are so many I want to read from this addition of Buzz books. Many thanks for providing such a valuable service for readers.
I truly appreciate this collection of upcoming book releases. It’s so nice to be able to read an excerpt and a description. There are so many of these books I’d like to now read, many of which I likely never would have known about if I hadn’t read this. Awesome!
As usual, I found this collection of excerpts to be a treat. I found several books to pique my interest. Some from favorite, auto buy authors and some from authors who are new to me. I am especially anticipating the latest from Geraldine Brooks who is one of my favorites. I am also eying the new release from Emma Straub. I was impressed by the diverse voices and stories that this edition has chosen to highlight. There is something for every reader in this collection and it always gives a fun enticement for the upcoming season.
Thanks to NetGalley for this preview. I always enjoy it.

Thank you for the opportunity to take a look at whats in the almost to be released publishing world for 2022.
I already have several of these titles in my to be read list and I added a few more after hearing of them. I am most grateful for the opportunity to explore new worlds, human emotions and travel to other places via the written word.
Thank you so very much NetGalley and the many authors and publishers who provide an escape from a day in the life. You are valuable and very appreciated!
This is an excellent roundup of all the upcoming books offered in a digestible format of lists, then excerpts, divided by genre for easy skimming and accessibility (alphabetical by author's last name)
I so appreciate the chance to preview so many amazing books coming our way in the Spring and Summer of 2022. I am especially intrigued by some non-fiction books: Read Dangerously: The Subversive Power of Literature in Troubled Times by Azar Naisi and Unmasked: MY Life Solving America's Cold Cases by Paul Holes.
We can never EVER go wrong with Buzz Books by Publishers Lunch! I absolutely love getting a sneak peak at what is coming up!
I was curious about this so I downloaded it. If like me, you weren’t familiar with Buzz Books this is basically a list of upcoming books in various categories, followed by a look at the cover, synopsis, and a preview of roughly a chapter of a selection of the books listed.
I didn’t read every word, there’s really no need, but I read through the list and all the summaries. Then, if the book appealed to me I glanced through the extract. I don’t actually like reading extracts as I feel like I’m wasting time when I’ll either read it anyway or never read it all – I looked enough to get an impression.
I’ve noted down a few interesting-looking books (fewer than I had imagined) and found out that JCO has a new book coming out in August, so it was worth it. I’ll probably take a look when the Autumn/Winter edition comes out.
If you like to get an idea of what’s coming, it’s free to download on NetGalley!
Thank you NetGalley and Publisher’s Lunch.
Fabulous sampling -- and a great way to whet the appetite for upcoming pieces. I can't WAIT for Horse and Booth!
This is a great guide to books coming out, and as a reviewer/blogger it helped me narrow down my Netgalley choices for this Spring.
I received a free copy of this book via Netgalley. My review is voluntary and my opinions are my own.

‘You’re so beautiful,’ her mother said as she was leaving. ‘You should get a gun.’”
That’s the closing line of the excerpt from The Last White Man by Mohsin Hamid, the Booker finalist and best-selling author of Exit West and The Reluctant Fundamentalist.
The opening line from Chapter One is this.
“One morning Anders, a white man, woke up to find he had turned a deep and undeniable brown.”
Kind of piques your interest, doesn’t it? These Buzz Book previews are a terrific way to sample the latest work from established and prize-winning authors, for example Marianne Wiggins, Geraldine Brooks (a favourite Aussie author of mine), Abdulrazak Gurnah, NoViolet Bulawayo, and the already mentioned Mohsin Hamid.
There are some intriguing debuts and nonfiction as well. Before the excerpts, there's a long list (no, I'm not going to count them all) of highly anticipated books to look forward to this year, even if they don't have excerpts available here.
You usually get a whole chapter, or at least many pages, so you have a pretty good idea of whether a story is likely to hold your interest or not. Some I can set aside instantly. Others make me curious to find them when they come out.
If you’re a NetGalley reviewer, you can request digital copies of some directly from your Kindle. I’m not even going to attempt to select any for you. You can download this Buzz Book from the Publishers Lunch website for free.

They have another whole collection for Romance, and some of their past collections are available, too, so you can browse through excerpts of books that might be in your library now.
These books are always worth a look!
Thanks to NetGalley for having these available as Read Now (free to all).
Buzz Books is a great preview of upcoming book releases. I’m especially interested in In the Face of the Sun, The Secret Life of Albert Entwistle, Stiletto Sisterhood, Notes on Your Sudden Disappearance, Bless Your Heart, Rae Sutton, Take My Hand, Iona Iverson’s Rules for Commuting, The Mutual Friend, Disorientation, Keya Das’s Second Act, Nora Goes Off Script, With Prejudice, Remarkably Bright Creatures, Blood Orange Night, Tough (Terry Crews’s memoir), Violet Made of Thorns, Ballad & Dagger, Finding Jupiter, and All My Rage.
Quite a selection of books. Many of them were along the themes and structures popular these days, and my reaction was "been there, read that" but there were some promisingly original departures from the norm. I was especially intrigued by the simple but engaging premise of Iona Iverson's Rules for Commuting,
great summary/compilation of upcoming books that I am so excited to read. I love these buzz books collections because they help me set my review priorities for the upcoming season. Thank you!
Love seeing what exciting books are coming out soon!! Having them all in one place and easily accessible is a huge help. And I love when it includes the link to the book so I can see what it’s about.
I enjoyed this preview. I have already finished Oscar Hokeah's book, and I reserved Muhsin Hamid's new book. Thanks for the preview!
I always love to get these books that include samples from upcoming books. I've read several of the samples and have already found a couple of books I'd like to read. I've also been introduced to some authors new to me. The categories are are Fiction, Debut, Non-Fiction and Young Adult.
I love that Netgalley does this! It's so helpful to see a lot of the upcoming books categorized by fiction, debut and nonfiction. I love that they include the summary and excerpts too and they also provide links to request the book after reading the first couple of chapters. I have found a few new books I want to request thanks to this handy guide!
This is a great way to preview books - a chapter or so of each anticipated book is shared - the range is lovely and diverse - something for everyone. While I didn’t end up going past a couple of paragraphs of a few of the samples based on my reading preference, I appreciated the opportunity to sample. There were some good ones and debut authors as well - always great to see new writers being published. A few I’m eager to check out are - Afterlives by Abdulrazak Gurnah, The Last White Man by Mohsin Hamid, Iona Iverson’s Rules for Commuting by Clare Pooley, Mother Ocean, Father Nation by Nishan Batsha, and Cat Brushing by Jane Campbell. Thanks to NetGalley, the authors, and the publishers for providing a much-anticipated window into 2022’s spring/summer books.
What an incredible resource to discover newly released and upcoming books from! The samplers are long enough to get an idea of the writing style and the Netgalley links at the end of most excerpts are a wonderful addition!
I've added so many books to my Goodreads Want To Read list thanks to this sampler, and there are a lot more that I shall now be keeping on my radar. I will definitely be looking out for future Buzz Books releases in the future!
Some title errors and out of date pub dates, but an invaluable tool for my library's purchasing, as usual.
