Definitely for fans of Katie Ruggle and April Hunt!
This is the first in a series and it is a solid first book. It sets up the tone of the series as well as the characters we're going to be spending time with.
This one follows a DEA special agent, his K-9 companion and an ER doctor investigating a health crisis.
I really liked this one! It was exciting and fast-paced the whole time. I couldn't put it down.
Tough Justice reminded me a lot of April Hunt's Fatal Deception and Katie Ruggle's Rocky Mountain K9 Unit series. Which are two books I devoured so this was perfect for me.
If you like romantic suspense, I would recommend picking this up. You will not be disappointed!

Never a dull moment! Thor captured my heart easily and stole every scene. As Deck’s partner Thor is the lovable half while Deck is the hunky half. While Tori and Deck are working together to save overdoses they are also battling against a new drug. As an ER doc she sees a lot of ODs but lately it’s been more aggressive. Deck is a DEA agent determined to find the drug designer and end it. With a few twists and turns this one kept me guessing who the bad guy really was and why. Always fun to receive advanced copies and I wrote this review voluntarily.

With an enemies to lovers vibe and action that will keep you on the edge of your seat, Tough Justice became an instant favorite! The story line grabbed me, the characters leaped from the pages and this book was a page turner. If you're a fan of adult romance or romantic suspense, then you need this story in your life!

I don't typically read romantic suspense, but I'm so glad I picked this one up because the story was phenomenal, the romance was a slow burn that became steamy and it made me feel every emotion under the sun! Victoria Sampson, aka Tori, was a doctor in a hospital that became ground zero for overdoses of a new drug in Colorado. Adam Decker, aka Deck, was a DEA K-9 agent who watched his co-worker and good friend almost die from that same drug while on a routine drug investigation. Teaming up was the only way they were going to solve the case and save others from dying.

My first impression of Tori was that while she was passionate about her job, she seemed to have no problem being cold or short to Deck in the ER. Regardless though, she was brilliant, calm, wicked smart and saved his friend from dying. So I was shocked when it didn't take me long to warm up and absolutely love Tori. I got her anger towards Deck. It wasn't truly him, but her past was tainted by the DEA. Ironically, they both didn't trust the other ones profession. And it fueled their enemies to lovers relationship beautifully!

Deck was sigh worthy. He was thoughtful, quick witted, patient, smart and had such a huge heart. Even if his presence could be intimidating, just watching him interact with his K9 Thor melted me. And Thor, a Belgian Malinois, oh I loved him so much! Thor's personality shined so brightly and I loved seeing how he reacted to things! But when it came to Deck, there was also this whole other side of him. His backstory was tragic and it hurt to hear how haunted and jaded he was. Deck was definitely a tortured hero I fell hard for!

Deck and Tori despised each other’s fields of work, but they couldn't ignore the attraction that simmered between them. Watching their slow progression was smile inducing! And the further we got into this story....it was hot *fans face*! Tough Justice was the perfect mixture of sexy, emotional and suspenseful. Because as the story unfolded, the emotions overwhelmed me. This story could be dark and intense. My breath got snagged and I was terrified anytime I thought Deck or even Thor was in danger. I cried. Multiple times. I screamed out loud. And I also fell deeply in love too.

Tough Justice was an action packed, emotional ride! I loved watching the pieces of the puzzle come together. I loved watching Deck and Tori grow. I loved the romance, friendship, and the dogs too! This book was such a huge win! I will definitely be reading the rest of O'Fallon's back list and whatever future books she releases!

I was very quickly drawn into this one right away. I found it interesting that both Deck and Tori hated each other for the same base reason, bad things happening in their past with people in the same professions. I wondered how that would work for them to get over that deep seeded hatred for any kind of romance. But it did, things were naturally revealed and each could see good in the other. It also helped that both were passionate about why people were od'ing left and right and wanting to do something about it.

The more that they found out the more that it seemed like the bad guy might be a little too close for comfort. It all came down to the end when Tori had the blinders ripped from her eyes and Deck realized how much he cared for Tori and how scared he was for her.

Things ended in a good way, the good guys won, but the best was when Deck's mom met Tori and had a little surprise of her own. So funny!

Growing up, I loved watching the tv show Inspector Rex, and this book had everything that made that show great, plus an amazing romance! It was the perfect balance of suspense and romance, I was unable to stop reading for the final third of the book. The case was very tense and kept me hooked, and the romance between Deck and Tori was so believable and I kept hoping throughout they found a way! This was my first Tee O’Fallon book and it definitely won’t be my last.

Steam: 3/5 (couple open door scenes)

This is the first book I've read by Tee O'Fallon. What took me so long to find her?!? I loved this book. She wrote well with an excellent storyline and wonderful characters. I did not want to put this book down. I was sucked right into the story and couldn't wait to see how everything was going to play out. I found myself holding my breath. The romance was perfection. I will be looking for more from this author!

While scrolling through NetGalley I saw the cover of this book, and it intrigued me. I read the synopsis and I LOVE me some romantic suspense…then add a K-9 partner and I couldn’t resist! I am so happy I requested this book and got accepted cause I really enjoyed it 🥰

What I loved:
-Thor, amazing name for a K-9 agent and he was just the best throughout
-Underlying suspense, I love a good twist and this one took me quite a while to figure it out
-Deck, this guy sounds like a dreamboat not to mention he is good with kids, animals and adults (swoon)
-Other K-9 units, this book was DEA focused but I loved how Deck and Thor worked with other K-9 teams with different specialties
-Enemies to lovers, it’s one of my favorite tropes and this story was a unique take on the trope

Overall this book had everything I look for in a romantic suspense, great romance, spice, great twist and believable turmoil between the main characters. On top of that there were dogs!! If you are a fan of romantic suspense stories with great characters that is he’s to put down you MUST read this book!!

While this is the first book in this series Tee keeps to her usual formula with the dogs are as much the stars of the book as the officer that they work with In this case the stars are Thor and DEA K9 officer Adam Decker (Deck). They meet ER Dr. Victoria (Tori) Sampson when Adam comes into the ER with his team mate Dan who Tori saves. Soon they have to work together as a increasing amount of Fentanyl overdoses take over the Denver area. Both mistrust the others profession but they can't deny the attraction between them Will they act on it or try to keep things solely professional You will have to read to see

This is a fast paced read that totally draws you in and keeps you turning the pages until in the early hours of the morning you discover you have turned the last page

Tough Justice is the first book in Tee O’Fallon’s new K-9 Spec Ops series. It is an action-packed, law enforcement romantic suspense novel with a fantastic storyline, passionate, well developed characters and a happily ever after.

Denver seems to be ground zero for a rise in lethal overdoses related to a new designer drug. DEA K-9 agent Adam "Deck" Decker, Thor, his canine partner and Dr. Tori Sampson, an ER doctor must work together to track down and stop the source. The chemistry and attraction between Deck and Tori is explosive. They work well together despite their opposing view and drugs and law enforcement, but can they put their pasts and deep mistrust of the others’ profession aside long enough to stop the killer? Read it and find out!

I have read and loved many of O’Fallons books and series. She is a fantastic author with an amazing talent for writing in this genre. I was very excited to read this new series and it did not disappoint. I can’t wait for the next instalment of this series. Will it be Brett’s or Evan’s story?

I was given an ARC of Tough Justice by NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

This is my first time reading Tee O'Fallon but it will not be my last! She has to me hooked from the first chapter. Tough Justice is steamy and action packed from the beginning. The chemistry between Tori and Deck was on point. I am so glad this is book # 1 I cannot wait to continue the series and hopefully the story or Tori and Deck..
I finished this in record time, I just could not put it down. How could I forget Thor. Thor is Decks K-9 dog and plays an important role. Can we all get a Deck and Thor in our lives??? I cant wait to read more from Tee O'Fallon. I highly recommend Tough Justice.

Thrilling action and medical drama!

Tori is a doctor who has a personal grudge against the DEA; Deck is a DEA agent with a personal grudge against doctors. Right from the start, you know both are going to have to do a lot of introspection and compromise before they can even work together, nevermind develop a solid relationship.

I loved the pacing in this book. Never a dull moment, terrific blend of hospital drama and police procedural, and I truly respected how the author showed the assorted agents as dedicated and fearless yet smart enough to follow the rules to ensure justice will prevail. There are quite a few twists and red herrings along the way, and the ultimate surprise was who the main target turned out to be.

I really enjoyed the intensity of the romance. Tori and Deck have all the chemistry in the world, while still being honest and forthright with their expectations. No dramatic miscommunications here, just a lot of pushing boundaries and expanding one's personal comfort zone.

Thor was a delightful character all by himself. I love reading about working dogs and how they bring their own personalities into play despite their precision training, yet still get the job done. This story will make a dog lover out of anyone.

We get a solid HEA for Deck and Tori, and I adored the surprise relationship revealed at the very end. Justice is served for all those involved in the drug dealing, and I loved how the asset seizure process was explained. If you love to read about heroic federal agents kicking doors and taking names, this is the book for you. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

WOW...I really enjoyed reading this novel. This book has everything you could want in a novel, action, adventure, romance and an HEA ending. The author kept the plot moving along which kept my attention. Two very different characters meshed throughout.
I am now a fan and follower of this author.

Wow! This book has everything a romantic suspense novel should include: fast-pace, current events (opioid crisis), masculine federal agents (DEA in this case), beautiful doctor with a good reason to not trust DEA agents, betrayal and some hot sex. I really enjoyed it.

I haven’t read this genre in a while, but after this book I’ll definitely look for others by this author.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

4.5⭐

When a new designer drug hits the streets of Denver with devastating consequences and a member of a DEA task force nearly dies from just a couple of innocuous specks on his shirt. An ER doctor who has a bad history with the agency reluctantly teams up with the DEA agent; she kicked out of her ER and his entertaining K9 sidekick Thor.

And with plenty of action, twists and suspense. Not to mention a well developed romance Tough Justice was a compelling read and one I'd happily recommend to others.

Dr. Victoria Sampson, Tori to her friends, works in the ER. She reigns supreme and she tames the chaos. She is kind and compassionate but always firm. DEA Agent Adam Decker is there to watch over his partner and friend, who was poisoned by a new drug on the streets. They both clashed with each other, neither knowing the real reason why Tori hates the DEA and Deck hates doctors. Yet this new drug is killing people at a new level. This crisis makes for strange bed fellows. As they work together, old hurts are losing their grip. When it comes to her treating him, he absolutely refused pain meds. Trust is a two way street and he just can't. Yet when Tori figures it out, she reaches out to him. Love changes everything. Thor, Deck's dog steals the book. I loved the ending!

My favorite character in this book is the dog Thor, who is part of a DEA K-9 unit. His human partner is Deck, who does not trust doctors. After another member of their unit gets exposed to a powerful illegal drug and end ups in the ER fighting for his life, Deck meets Tori, who is the doctor handling the case. Tori does not trust the DEA and they butt heads over Deck refusing to leave the room and being concerned about any medication they use. Read the book to find out how smart Thor is and about how Deck and Tori work to stop the recent uptick in overdoses.

I received a free copy of this book to review through NetGalley.

This is the first book in the K-9 special ops series. It is the story of Adam “Deck” Decker, a DEA Agent and Tori Sampson, an ER Physician. There is a new synthetic opioid circulating on the streets called Gray Death and the current batch is extremely lethal. Deck and Tori meet when one of Decks friends end up with an overdose while on a raid and Tori saves his life. Both Tori and Deck mistrust the others profession due to personal reasons, but Deck convinces her to help the DEA and try to track down the drug lord responsible.

This was my first book with Ms. O’ Fallon. I must give her points for doing her research extremely well. She was well versed in the different opioids and their lethality and assume she did similar research with the DEA agents. She avoided making them out to be cowboys and discussions of HIPAA and probable cause were held. The writing was good, characters and plot twists interesting. She certainly kept me guessing about who it was until close to the end (usually I figure these things out quickly – I had a short list but vacillated between them). The initial set up seemed a bit unrealistic e.g., Deck allowing Tori to go on raids with him. Thor was fabulous and overall, the story was extremely enjoyable. This was a HFN as is always the case with such books. I highly recommend.

DEA agent Adam Decker is horrified as one Denver hospital seems to be ground zero for overdoes of a new drug. Deck hopes that a certain ER doctor will help him, and his canine partner track down the source. Dr. Tori Sampson has her reason for not trusting federal agents, especially ones working for the DEA. But the rash of overdoses and deaths is high. The new drug also defies the usual medical treatments. So, Tori has to choose between working with the hot DEA agent or watch more people die. As they work together on this case, an attraction develops between the two. This is a good book that I recommend.
