There has been a huge increase in opioids overdose in the last weeks in Denver’s area. ER doctor Tori is very concerned about it and she wants to stop it in any way she can. Even if it implies to work closely with hot DEA K9 agent Deck. Deck do not trust doctor but if Dr. Tori’s help will solve the case he is working he is doing it. Can they overcome all their distrust from their past and work together when their hearts and lives must be in the line? Fast pacing romantic thriller.

Another awesome book by Tee O’ Fallon. I absolutely love this K9 series of hers. It has everything I want in a book….suspense and steam. This story between Deck and Tori was wonderful in my opinion. I would highly recommend it and the series. You won’t be disappointed.

A bad mixture of opioid drugs is killing people right and left. DEA agent Decker is on the case with the (initially reluctant) help of stubborn Dr. Tori Sampson. Along the way, they find more in each other than fighting the epidemic. A thrilling novel with twists, turns, danger, and an uphill battle.

Just great!
I really enjoyed this romantic suspense and especially appreciated how the complex plot was balanced out with more tender and emotional times. There was plenty of fast paced action mixed with the investigative suspense that had me frantically turning pages to find out what was going to happen next.
I also liked how I felt I really got to know the main characters. Initially there was a mutual distrust between doctor Tori and K-9 DEA agent Deck. There were obstacles for them to overcome yet it was wonderful seeing them work through the issues and their personal growth felt plausible.
Furthermore it was interesting learning more about the opioid crisis and I appreciated that the information was provided in a clear way without it feeling like a lecture or demeaning in any way.

Tough Justice is perfect for fans of Ana Huang or those who want to read romance with a little spice. It’s definitely different from what I usually read.

A lightweight enemies to lovers story with some steam and lots of action as a DEA K9 agent and his dog Thor join with an ER doctor to eliminate a deadly plague of designer fentanyl. While a pleasant read with a fast-moving plot, it is somewhat hampered by trite descriptions, cardboard characters, and a tendency to delineate rather than show history and character, including a prolonged confession by the malefactor. Still, it is a charming read for days when you seek a light story with a happy ending.

First time reader of Tee O'Fallon and OMG where has she been in my reading life? This was a spicy hot story of a DEA agent and a Dr who do not like each other on sight, but over time working together change their minds. I cannot wait until the next book in the series comes out and I hope Deck and Tori are in it, even if it's in the background. Highly recommend this story, I'll have to go and see if all her other books are this good!

I loved this book! I haven’t read a romantic suspense in a while and this book had me searching out other books by this author. It was exciting, realistic, great background, red herrings and an awesome dog, excuse me, K-9 agent. The sizzling tension between Tori and Deck was exceptional without it turning into full-on romance, just the right amount including major obstacles. That along with a great story and action makes the complete package. Thanks to NetGalley and Entangled for providing a copy of the book for an honest review.

I’m always happy with a good romantic suspense. This one was riveting. I wanted to read the ending for the big revelation, but I also wanted it never to end. Tough dilemma.

As it should be, the romance was a bonus, it was first and foremost a suspenseful novel. The intrigue was well done. Characters and events were written as to create multiple red herrings, so you couldn’t possibly guess the ending nor resolve the big mystery until the end. As for the investigation itself, the author wanted so much to be authentic that sometimes it felt a bit tedious, and at other times I thought I missed some information. It was efficient though, with the right balance between protocol talks, action, paperwork and tension.

Mixed with those elements were two more that will without doubt be in the future books in the series too: Deck’s friends on one hand, who’ll probably become main characters, and the dogs on the other, since it’s a K-9 series. I liked both. We get just hints at who Brett and Evan are, so their stories will be surprising. Their relationships with their dogs, though, are well explained through Deck and Thor’s relationship. It was an interesting aspect–and a first for me.

Let’s get back to the romance now. I quite enjoyed it. Both Tori and Deck were interesting characters, with a compelling backstory. Thanks to their personal history, they were born enemies, and I loved seeing their relationship evolve from one of hate to one of passion. It was slow but not too much, and their feelings were based on admiration and respect, which I liked. Sure their physical attraction played a part, but it was really through the time they spend together in various situations that they developped deeper feelings, and they took their time before acting on them. But once they did, wow, that was hot! But it wasn’t erotica. As I said above, the romance was a bonus, not the main attraction–though Deck and Tori’s closeness was definitely a plot device and added to the story’s overall tension.

My main complaints didn’t deter me from enjoying the story. There were a couple of editing mistakes–small ones, that you miss if you blink, mostly details of the story. Also I felt the romance’s ‘will they won’t they’ element dragged a little, two steps back for each step forward.

It was still a really good story with a sexy and heartfelt romantic element. I recommend.

- + that was one well done intrigue
- – though Tori’s and Deck’s personal hang-ups worked well for the story, they seemed a bit farfetched

Yesssss! Sizzle, Suspense, and all the feels. Loved, loved, loved this book. The beginning is heart breaking and so relevant. This book revolves around intelligent caring people and a K9 - Score! It was a quick intense read. Ying - yang equals balance and this book had it all' I loved Deck (DEA) although I kept picturing a body builder on steroids, which is not my first choice. Tori (Dr) has compassion and intelligence. Finding out why Tori hated the DEA could have been brought up a little sooner. The whole situation with Deck, with Tori and her dad brings to light so many issues but never detracted from the story. I thought I knew who it was and then thought maybe I was wrong. There were a few red herrings I almost let lead me astray. Sometimes one sees only what they want to. Absolutely adored the romantic build, the strength and integrity that was in this relationship and all the sizzles. I have to say in the end, even though I loved Deck, its Thor for the win. Entertainment with Feeling. Thank you NetGalley, Entangled Publishing and Tee O'Fallon for the arc. I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions.

The underlying message was great. Doctor/patient relationships along with pain management issues go hand in hand. I don’t know many doctors who push pills to be honest. It takes a lot to get addicted to opioids. Under normal circumstances doctors need to monitor long term treatments. I sort of feel it is not really a blame game. I did like Tess and Adam/Drake together but there wasn’t much mystery there, I saw it coming a mile away. I did like the interactions between the DEA and how they were working with the Doctors to find the pushers of this new type of drug. Good book.

Good book. Deck, a DEA Agent with a distaste for doctors pairs up with Tori, a doctor who hates DEA agents. to help crack a case about a string of addictions. it started with action when Deck's partner is treated by the doctor that Deck, obviously, eventually falls in love with. The action didn't end until the last page (and even then, I'm not sure the action ended). Sizzling. Loved the character's backstory. Loved the dog, who became a huge character in the book. A passionate story filled with action and adventure that will lead you on a wild ride. I loved the characters, a doctor and hardcore DEA agent., make for a recommended romantic suspense.

What a great start to this series. Great chemistry between Deck and Tori. I like how both of them were leery of each other’s job due to experiences in their past. Secondary characters were key to make this story flow. And, can I say how much I love Thor! Looking forward to the next adventure.

As I started this book I kept thinking, this couple is way too different to get together. Their fundamental ideals would prevent them from even being interested in each other. Which means I actually cheered out loud at their first kiss.

The main protagonists are great characters with depth and compassion. Deck and Tori have to learn to trust and find common ground while working together. And of course it absolutely works out. The plot really held my interest and kept the story moving. Deck is a DEA k-9 agent and Tori is an ER doctor. Together they work to bring down a new drug that keeps sending ODs into Tori’s ER. Tori learns to step out of her comfort zone and Deck learns to let the past go. The plot also drove the story while the characters fall in love, it was a great balance. Throw a couple of twists and a great K-9 dog and you have the ultimate romance suspense novel.

Thank you NetGalley, Tee O'Fallon and Entangled Publishing, LLC for the ARC of Tough Justice. This is my personal review.
Dr.Tori Sampson and DEA k-9 Agent Adam Decker are two people with strong feelings of mistrust about each other just due to the careers they are both in. But that is exactly the thing that draws them to each other. There is a killer on the loose and needs to be stopped.
This book kept me glued to the story until the very end. The chemistry between Dr and the DEA agent was jumping off the pages and was amazing.
This is one book you just must read because it has so much suspense, mystery, romance and a whole lot of steam!
This is the first book in the K-9 Special Ops series. The first in the series has a strong start to making this a fantastic series to read.

Wow. Since I don't want to spoil the story, I am not going to describe the plot further. This is a very suspenseful romance. I didn't want to put this book down and read in one day. The book is so good that I am adding this author to my TBR list. Dr. Tori Sampson is a strong, intelligent, and compassionate doctor who works hard to keep patients alive. I really admire her. DEA K-9 agent Adam "Deck" Decker is honorable and passionate in his pursuit of justice. These two characters really drew me into the story right away. I received a free copy of this ebook from the publisher through Netgalley. This is my honest and voluntarily given review.

Tough Justice is an absolutely fantastic read which keeps you on the edge of your seat, eager to discover what's going to happen next. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.

Tori - an ER doctor - comes across Deck whilst trying to help his colleague. The two of them instinctively mistrust each other because of their respective backgrounds but decide to put their differences aside for the greater good; tracking down a dangerous criminal.

The chemistry between the two main characters is incendiary and I loved how they eventually succumbed to their feelings for each other. The secondary characters were brilliant; especially Thor, Deck's K-9 partner. If you're looking for an adrenaline rush and gripping action, then I'd definitely recommend giving this a go. A big fat five stars from me.

I can’t believe I read this in one day! It had my attention the whole time. The relationship between Deck and Tori was a continuous hate/like relationship until towards the end. It was packed with action, tears, and written really well.

I think this was a fun read for me. It also didn’t hurt to read this while binge-watching “NCIS: New Orleans.” The book started off a little slow, but when it picks up, It. Picks. Up. I will say, the book also starts off in such a heartbreaking fashion, which completely sets the stage for the rest of the story. There were maybe one or two times I didn’t follow what was happening, but I think that’s more on me than the author.

The chemistry between DEA agent, Deck, and ER doctor, Tori, was great. What I enjoyed was the romance didn’t feel like that was the ENTIRE story. As the reader, you’re definitely rooting for them, but the romance wasn’t the driving point to the plot. This was a good hate-to-love trope. The back story for both characters was great. It helped to understand both of them and the stake they had in the plot. I was able to figure out who the bad guy was pretty easily, but it didn’t detract from the story. Also, I absolutely loved Thor. He was an outstanding K-9 partner.

Every page was practically action-packed. I enjoyed watching Deck’s and Tori’s relationship develop into what it did. It was nice to see that it wasn’t an immediate change. I’m excited to see that this is a series. I don’t know whose story is next. All I know is, I can’t wait to read it!
