I didn’t realize this was part of series when I requested this book but it was a good book that can be read as a standalone. I loved the characters and feel I would have enjoyed this more if I had read the others in the series.
I love this charming series and this installment had an excellent plot. The characters are great!
Many thanks to Author Collective 20 and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion
Princess Fuzzypants here: Cat Paw Cove is always a delightful destination when you have a craving for a quick, light read, with magic and romance thrown into the mix. With citizens of almost any mystical persuasion you can imagine, and talking cats who also have some pretty cool skills, you know this is going to be a place where you leave your disbelief at the door.
This time we have some pretty heavy hitters showing up as best friends Elva and Art must unite to save Elva from marrying a lout of a suitor to whom her so-called parents have betrothed her. There is a whole lot of shenanigans going on behind the scenes where almost everyone is not quite whom they seem to be. Bringing it all together are bees (ergo the title) and the residents of a home for senior magicals and of course, the cats. It is fun and entertaining and can be read in a few short hours. It is probably a good beach book. Four purrs and two paws up.
𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝘀: friends to lovers, time travel
I don't know what to say about this book. I tried to get into it, but the result wasn't the desired one.
The story itself is a cute, paranormal one, with a tinge of love and humor.
I guess if I was younger, I may have enjoyed it, but it's not to my liking.
After her parents disappearance Elva has been raised by her Aunt and Uncle in Cat's Paw Cove
Elva is now an healing elf using her bees and honey to treat patients ........ when her beehives are stolen it is her long time inventor friend Art who comes to aid her search . Thrown together their romantic feelings blossom and just as they lean in for their first kiss they are interrupted ................. two people are at the door claiming to be Elva's long lost parents . Worse is yet to come - they inform her that she is engaged to be married to Prince Scott and the wedding is in two weeks
Initially elated she is now unsure what to be believe , Art however also has his reservations about the couple - things are not all they seem .
The story is full of humour and twists and turns , with many revelations coming to light as Art and Elva seek the truth .
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own
This story was pretty light and easy to read , the two characters were polar opposites which made it so cute to read. the mystery was well written and I enjoyed this book overall !
A fun novella that I read in one sitting. Elva is an elf who her aunt and uncle raised in Cat's Paw Cove after her parents disappeared. She's the only kid at the Feline Fine Retirement Home, which she describes as "like living with dozens of grandmothers and grandfathers." When she's ten years old, she meets ten-year-old Art, who has just arrived in town with his parents. They buy a home to use during the summers, and Art and Elva immediately become best friends. I loved that first meeting, with Art's astonishment at everything from Elva's pointy ears to the talking cats.
When Art was eighteen, he permanently moved to Cat's Paw Cove and set up his inventing business. Elva became a healing elf who uses bees and honey to treat her patients. Art is just as shy now as he was twenty years ago. He's in love with Elva but doesn't think she feels anything more than friendship for him. He's about to get a little help. When Elva's beehives are stolen from her yard, Art is the one she looks to for help. Art's feline companion, Kit Kat, tells her to go on a date with Art if she wants his help, while her cat, Romeo, mutters, "About time..." Art is shocked but thrilled when she agrees since he has no idea that she is in love with him too. Just as he's leaning in for a long-awaited kiss, they are interrupted.
At the door are two people claiming to be Elva's long-lost parents. Stunned but happy, Elva is full of questions. Art is skeptical and has reservations about this couple. I loved his protectiveness and how he watched out for Elva from the very beginning. Elva received another shock when her parents claimed that she is betrothed to Prince Scott and the wedding is in two weeks. I loved her reaction when she met Prince Scott, who turns out to be something of an over-age frat boy.
We quickly learn that things are not always what they seem. Something fishy is going on, and it seems to have something to do with the King of the Dark Elves. I was fascinated by the twists and turns and revelations as Art and Elva looked for the truth. I loved watching Elva's family and friends go all-in in protecting her while Art's Uncle Hermes looks into the missing hives and whether her parents are dead or not. Later on, combining Prince Scott and too many bottles of mead led to the whole thing falling apart. I loved watching everything unravel and laughed out loud at many parts.
I loved the ending. The truth is exposed, and Elva stands up for her choice of husband. I loved the surprise waiting for Elva after delivering some hives to some friends at the retirement home.

Elva and Art's story. What a hoot! A light hearted supernatural story with a lot of fun twists and turns. Enjoyed this one and found it hard to put down. Highly recommend this book and author.
a sweet light & cozy paranormal read with a touch of romance & humor. can be easily read on it's own.
Elva, Art and KitKat have made me fall in love with Cat's Paw Cove. Add In the mystery of where Elva's bees are and oh boy, what a fun read! I want more! Thanks #netgalley and #AuthorCollective20 for the eARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are mine.
I love Cat's Paw Cove and it is always a delight to visit there and spend time with old friends. When Elva's bees are stolen, the mystery begins. Her best friend, Art, a demigod enlists his celestial family to assist. Of course, there's matchmaking because a cat's gotta do what a cat's gotta do. Such fun and happiness!
Another highly entertaining and compelling story in this beloved series.
I had a lot of fun and liked the characters and the well written story, rooted for the characters and enjoyed the story.
The world building is as good as always.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine
Elva Boyd is an elf where the land has kings who are cats and uses honey created in her beehives to treat patients.
Art who is Elva's best friend and a demi-god, he helps when her beehives start to go missing. His matchmaking cat bargains with Elva that he will help if they go an official date.
Soon her long lost parents arrive and set claim that she would move back to Scotland and marry a man she's never met by contractual agreement. What is Elva's decision? Will she meet her one true love or has he always been standing right in front of her?
This is a light hearted, romantic comedy read. Elva makes a great heroine who truthfully deserves the kindness and love that life has to offer. It's a good story for a pick me up or a reading slump.
Thank you NetGalley for the story ARC in exchange for an honest review!
