My thoughts: this was a super quick and very entertaining read/listen. I kind of saw the plot twist coming fairly early on (having read similar books previously), but what kept me hooked was the timeliness of this particular story.
I can’t say much more without giving too much away, but this is definitely one that I would recommend to a friend.
Thank you to NetGalley and Greenleaf Book Group for the advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Twisty and entertaining story of twins fighting for each other but also their own selves. I didn’t see the first twist coming until I was right at it. Then, just when I thought I’d finished, there was one more twist to end the book! Terrific narration. Great read!
Alexa is ready for a fresh start in New York City with a new job and a new, if tiny, apartment of her own. She's finding it hard, however, to outrun the tragedies of her past when her twin shows up, fresh from a mental hospital, and moves in.
Can Alexa find her own way and a new love in the big city with her psycho sister in the picture? Or is there more to their shared history that Alexa can't outrun?
I found the story compelling and it kept me off balance the whole way through. Alexa proved to be a wonderfully unreliable narrator. The author really nailed that trope. I could not have asked for more there.
Potentially offensive content includes sex, violence, and some bad language.
Even though Alexa was an unreliable narrator and there was meant to be a lot of mystery in her past that would not resolve until the end, I would have really liked to get to know her as a character better. I felt like her sister, Beth, was more fleshed out and I really didn't know much about Alexa's likes, dislikes, or wants. I could have got behind her more if I knew her a little better.
What appealed to me most about the story was the constant, building tension between Alexa and Beth. It kept me wanting to know more about their history and what the mysterious tragedy was. It wasn't until probably the last 20% of the book that I started to guess part of what was going on, but I could have never come up with the whole story. The build-up was great and all the clues were there, but WOW did it throw me for a loop at the end.
I highly recommend this debut novel and hope to read more by this author.
Thank you, Bookish First, for this advance reader copy. This is my unbiased, honest review.
Let's start.. a gripping fast paced thriller with a couple of superb plot twists that will make you gasp..
Alexa.. a quiet girl living with her father who gets an opportunity to start a new career in social media. Which means moving to new York City, getting the much needed independence and alone time that she craves. Alexa has been going through therapy for sometime for an incident that we don't know much about but it is clear that she hasn't had the greatest of times growing up and her therapist and father worry a great deal about her. Alexa has an estranged identical twin sister called Beth.
Beth has been away staying in a mental health facility and just happens to be released on the day alexa moves into her new pad. She shows up at her door just hours after her father leaves alexa to start her new life. Beth and alexa are polar opposites of each other And Beth seems to think everyone or anything could harm alexa and learn their little secret.
The story continues and we get both of Beth and alexas POV throughout different scenarios which is really interesting.
when alexa starts to live her life and starts her first ever relationship Beth is not happy and things go bad..
Then plot twist, plot twist, plot twist.
I thought the ending was superb and cleverly paced out
4 stars
I thought the book was interesting and fast paced. I love short chapters. It helps keep me interested. I didn't really find this book too suspenseful but I thought the story flowed naturally. It kept me wanting more. I really liked the different POVs. It was nice to see inside the minds of identical twin sisters. You can see how different and similar they are to each other. I really liked Beth even in her moments where she seemed out of control. She was fiercely loyal and protective of Alexa. I listened and read the book.
I almost DNFed this one at the 1.5 hour mark. This had an interesting premise and I'm sure some people will love this but I was really bored at the beginning and decided to read some spoilery reviews to see if it gets interesting. Finally managed to finish it at 2x speed.
The idea was really intriguing. I know Beth was supposed to be the evil twin but I was more annoyed by Alexa than anyone else. Curt was just annoying. The audiobook quality was good though.
Thank you Netgalley and the author for providing me an ARC of this book.
This book is crazy, insane, all those like words to describe the wild ride of the insane!! You get so caught up in the madness of the story that it’s over too quick. I listened to this book in one sitting.
The drama between the sister is about 2/3 of the book. Without spoiling the story for you, I have to say that I caught on to what was happening very quickly. I’m sure everyone will. It’s very obvious that something is off with Alexa. But this twist is not the best twist, not at all. the best twist comes later on in a big reveal. Then, there is an even bigger shock at the very end. The whole book is as twisty as a soft serve ice cream cone!!
Social media plays a very large role in the story. Alexa’s boyfriend is an influencer and has hired her company to help him get celebrity status. While he is trying to live in the spotlight, Alexa is fine staying in his shadow. She has spent her whole life under supervision, and wants to just live freely. Their pairing is a bit odd, and later on suspicious.
I definitely recommend this as an audiobook. It’s a very quick listen, and a captivating time suck. I got caught up in the story very quickly when I figured out what was going on. The narrator nailed the voices of the twins, making them very distinctly different. I think that helps a lot with the middle twist.
Twin women in their early twenties are battling mental issues that are unexplained until later in the story. Alex is living with her father, her mother is deceased. Alex gets a job offer to go work at a busy ad agency in New York. It’s her first job since college and she is apprehensive but excited to go live an independent life.
Beth, her twin sister, has been locked up in a mental facility for quite awhile. She is released just as Alex arrives in New York. Theirs has been a stressful relationship so Alex is conflicted when Beth appears at her door just hours after she arrives at her new apartment of course Beth needs a place to stay. She asks Alex not to inform their father.
Alex has a quiet personality. She is very reliable but seems to lack self confidence. Beth is her polar opposite and is brash, loud and pushy. While Alex goes to work, Beth relaxes with trash TV and take out. She causes a scene at a nail salon. Things go from bad to worse as Alex meets Curt, a client at work, and begins a whirlwind romance. Beth resents the intrusion of Curt and the attention it takes away from her.
A fun twisted story of obsession and complicated siblings. There is a lot going on. Many subplots to consider.
I enjoyed the book tho I think I would of preferred a different ending. I give the book a solid 4 stars. Narration was very well done ! Thanks NetGalley and bookoutre for this opportunity.
Such a good thriller, usually I’ve guessed a large part of the plot early on. This one had pieces that were easy to figure out,, but the deeper story played out well.

“Scars are pains way of demanding to be remembered. Pain is fleeting but a scar is forever.”
•
Wow. That was definitely not what I was expecting and I loved it. I listened to this story via audio and it was so well done.
•
I loved the multiple POV’s throughout this book between Beth, Alexa and Dr. Greer. It gave so much insight to how each character was feeling/thinking. I definitely loved the idea of the two completely different personalities of the twins and how truly different they were from one another.
•
While I was able to quickly figure out one part of the twist, I still thoroughly enjoyed how the entire story was executed and there was a twist thrown in that I definitely did not see coming. This entire story was completely addicting, I felt I had a hard time stopping the audio for anything. And let me say, that ending though, hands down the perfect ending for this story.
•
There are some characters that I found to be more difficult to like than others, but as the story progresses and the twists occur, you understand more about each of them.
•
Overall, this was a phenomenal read, I highly recommend this to any thriller lover out there. Most definitely recommend and cannot wait to read more by this author!!

It was an interesting story that had a really good twist. The book also has dove into a question that have been divided people about multi personality disorder which I enjoyed. It was a very quick read that made it easy to follow while kept me entertained and engaged.
This book was fast-paced and seemed to be quite hard to put down in the beginning. It was pretty obvious there was an unreliable narrator, which usually means I am going to enjoy the book. However, the twist ended up falling flat for me. The twist was rushed, revealed at nearly the end of the book without any explanation for how certain things had happened. Also, it was weird how COVID was mentioned a few times, but for no actual apparent reason as it didn't have anything to do with the plot of the story.
I liked the tone and pace of this book. Dark and very fast paced albeit a bit predictable. I however really liked the ending. Unreliable narrator and characters.
I very much enjoyed this book! I'm not so keen on the narrator, but the premise of the book was fantastic! I certainly did not expect the ending! I had to listen to it more than once. I was so caught off guard. I am rating this book three stars due to a slow start. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book!

Brief Synopsis: Alexa has been in therapy since she was a child. When she lands a job in NYC, she’s excited to finally move out on her own. Before she’s even had time to unpack, Alexa’s estranged twin sister Beth randomly shows up on her door step. Things get complicated quickly, as this story unfolds.
Thoughts: Overall this was a good, quick read. The characters felt realistic, and the storyline was mostly believable. Around 30% in, I started guessing the main twist. I wish that it would have been hidden/incorporated better, so the “OMG” factor would have remained when the twist was unveiled. That said, there is one twist at the end that I didn’t see coming. I don’t think the pandemic add-ins added value to the overall story. But maybe someone picking up the book a few years from now will appreciate the memories.
Thank you to J.C. Bidonde, Greenleaf Book Group, and NetGalley for an advance copy of this book.
Do You Follow is a fast-paced thriller. This was a quick read and I enjoyed this short thriller very much. The narrator has done a good job as well. I had many doubts but it ended up in the least expected way. I did not expect the turn of events and yes it did surprise me. I loved the plot, twist, and ending. As a debut novel, I highly appreciate the author bringing in the suspense mood and giving a satisfying ending.
Thank you Netgalley for providing the audiobook.
This was a very quick book. I listened to it on audio and the narrator did a great job. Told primarily from the POVS of identical twin sisters.
You realize immediately that things aren’t quite right when a female is talking about her psychiatrist and getting out of a year and a half long in patient stay. She hasn’t seen her twin in over a year and now she moves by herself to NYC.
I didn’t expect the twist that happened and the author executed it well.
Do You Follow
This was a fast paced thriller that really threw me for a loop. I think that It helped that I didn’t read too much about it keeping an element of surprise. I will keep this review brief so as not to ruin anything.
Beth and Alex are twins that are really close even as far as twins go. After the accident, Alex has tried to distance herself from Beth. She has moved to New York and found a marketing job, has her own apartment and her first boyfriend…all to herself, well almost. Beth has decided to move in with Alex temporarily. Soon her boyfriend is living with them too and three’s a crowd.
This book touched on a lot of interesting topics of the day. There was talk of the pandemic, social media and the algorithms for engagement, YouTube cooks and influencers. Listening at regular speed this one only takes 5 hours. I highly recommend giving it a shot.
Okay, let's start with what I liked 1) the narrator and 2) the book caught my attention in the very beginning.
I thought this was a great book until the end towards the courtroom scenes. It was very disappointing that so much of the legal stuff makes no sense and wouldn't happen in the real world. I typically don't expect my books to be spot on legally but the courtroom stuff was such a prominent part of this book, I just wish a legal consultant could have fixed the things that don't make procedural sense or courtroom dialogue. It ruined the book for me.
Thank you to Netgalley, J.C. Bidonde, and Greenleaf Book Group for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. I enjoyed this quick, interesting read but Im not sure I would classify it as a thriller. There definitely was a sense of mystery and suspense but for me it didnt have those plot twists and big wow factors for me. I did feel like the story and plot was good though and I always think DID is an interesting concept to explore in a book.
