This review is for the audio version of LifeFlight by Lynette Eason. It is narrated by Sara Scheckells. I love this audio edition of Life flight. Ms. Sara Schececkells brings the pages to life. She manages to consistently give each character their own voice. I look forward to listening to more of Ms. Scheckkell's audio renditions.

Here is my review of Life Flight:
A fast-paced romantic page-turner from the mistress of suspense Lynette Eason. Penny is definitely a strong woman and she has found her match in Holt. The story moves along quickly sucking you in, until wow...it's over. I loved the plot and all of the characters. After reading Life Flight I will probably never look at tea the same way again! I loved the theme of Faith in God that is prevalent throughout the book. If you are looking for a fantastic read look no further than Life Flight available January 4, 2022. Life Flight

A riveting story that will keep you on your toes.

Although the story was good and kept me on my toes, I do wish there was more of a romantic element. And I know that this is a mystery but I felt as if the romance was forced and unnatural. But again, that may just be me. I did, however, enjoy all the twists and turns along the way and I did get spooked a few times. If you want a fast-paced thriller then you have it right here. Definitely kept my attention more than the cozy mysteries I've read in the past.

I recommend this book for ages 18+ for violence.

Penny knows how to handle dangerous situations, but when she finds herself on top of a mountain with danger all around her, it put her to the test. She makes it through this situation , but continues to find herself in danger. What was thought to be true is now under review and her life is on the line.

A very suspenseful read, look forward to what happens next.

Penny is an EMS helicopter pilot, after having a rough landing on a mountain she came across a serial killer.

She sooner became the target of said serial killer. Along with FBI special agent Holt, they try to catch him.

I liked the story. The suspence, the mystery, and Penny & Holt's developped relationship.

I’ve seen some reviews refer to Life Flight as a roller-coaster ride. In my opinion, this book is more like a ride on a bullet train from start to finish, with a few short lulls to catch your breath. Literally, I felt like I was at the climax of the story from chapter one, and it stayed that way for the rest of the book. Lynette Eason is an amazing author. She is a new-to-me author, and I was highly impressed by her skills. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
There are quite a few characters to keep straight which adds to the complexity of the novel. I love multiple points of few, and this book had several, including the villains, who may be one of the creepiest bad guys I’ve ever encountered in a novel. I’m not sure if listening to the audio book made it worse, because the voice talent did an incredible job giving each character, not only a unique voice, but personality and tone to everyone. Darius Raybure will make your skin crawl!
I loved the female pilot, Penny. Her career was unique and interesting. Eason did a great job making every moment feel realistic.
I highly recommend this book to lovers of romantic suspense. If you’ve never read this genre before, I caution starting with this one. And if you’re squeamish when it comes to murder mysteries, this may not be your cup of tea! (Pun absolutely intended)

"Today was not going to be the day they died - not if she had anything to say about it."

When that is the first line of a book, you know you are in for a ride. This title's main heroine is a healthcare helicopter pilot. Her job already has built-in adventure. The book starts with her trying to get a patient to the hospital during a thunderstorm. But of course, the struggles only escalate from there. Once you add a serial killer to the mix, the story goes out of bounds. This book had many twists and turns that I did not expect.

"Life Flight" by @lynetteeason is the first book in her new Extreme Measures series. The plot was full of unpredictable elements with just the right romantic element. And I can tell which two characters will be getting their own stories later. That makes me excited about the series!

I actually listened to this book. To my surprise, I really like suspense audio books. For one thing, I can't peek ahead and discover the ending. Plus I think that the cliffhanger build is greater when one has to listen to discover what is going to happen next.

I will say that I might have listened for 8 straight hours one Saturday afternoon/evening simply because I had to know what happened. So definitely make sure that you have time to set aside in case you feel that same way. Thanks to NetGalley for letting me listen through your program. I wanted to review the book. All opinions are my own.

Another spellbinding/nail biting suspense by Eason. She is tops in suspense writing. Another winner for sure. This is about a serial killer on the loose and yet this book has a different twist about the killer. You will definitely be engrossed in the reading. Life Flight has all the ingredients for a great read. Exciting plot, well written with strong believable characters whom you can visualize. There are breath holding scenes and all with a nice ending wrapping it all up. You will have several surprises, so be ready for them. Storms and crash landing of the helicopter on top of a mountain, with the heroine taking off in the blinding weather to find help for her sick patient. The FBI searching in the stormy weather to find a serial killer....If you love mystery and suspense, then here is the book for you. Thanks to the publisher for an early copy to read and review.

Life Flight
By Lynette Eason
Narrated by Sara Scheckells
Book One of the new Extreme Measures series
Christian Mystery/Romance

Penny Carlton is used to be in high stress situations. As an EMS helicopter pilot anything can go wrong at a moments notice. When she is forced to land in a raging storm on the top of a mountain she keeps her cool. What she doesn’t know is that there is a serial killer on the loose. She finds herself in the killers crosshairs and soon is working with FBI Special Agent Holt Satterfield. The sparks begin to fly immediately. Will their faith in God and each other keep them alive?

The narrator was good in this book. She keeps the book flowing. She is a seasoned narrator with a lot of books under her belt. Including some by Sherryl Woods.

I would highly recommend this book in any format to any Christian readers or readers that are looking for a nice clean romance.

This is a heart-pounding romantic suspense novel!

I love both of the main characters. Both Penny and Holt have things from their pasts that they don’t like talking about. As the stories come out it is completely understandable though. With Penny’s past it is very easy to understand her career choice and the emotional strength that she has to deal with the current situation. They have a number of very strong people surrounding them and helping them to stay safe and find the serial killer.

The plot is incredibly well developed and kept me on the edge of my seat. I stayed up much later than I should have because I needed to get them out of danger. I was kept guessing about who was helping the bad guy out until the very end.

The narrator is one of the very best that I have ever heard. She had so many different voices that she used that I could actually see the different people interacting with each other. Their emotions could be felt just by listening to the narrator.

I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook from the publisher, through NetGalley.. I was not required to write a positive review. All of the opinions expressed are my own.

Penny is an EMS helicopter pilot. She flies into a bad storm to pick up a critical teen only to find out there is a serial killer in the area. FBI Special Agent Holt is assigned both to the case of the serial killer and to rescue Penny. Penny has rescued Holt before and they have dated a few times when schedules permit. As Penny becomes a target for the serial killer, Holt and Penny become closer. The characters are great; supporting friends, an understanding boss and co-workers, interesting families, and a love interest. This book is exciting with tense moments throughout the book. I really liked it.

A dangerous murderer on the lose, two good friends keeping secrets from one another but with a real connection and a lot of action. Good combination for a good story. Will Penn and Holt be able to catch Darius without risking their lives? Good audiobook

Let me just say, I am a Lynette Eason loyalist. She will forever be a pre-order author for me.
I was so excited to jump into a new series, but this first installment just fell a little flat for me, in comparison to what I've come to expect from Eason. Was it a good book? Of course. The woman could probably not write anything bad if she tried. That being said, this is not the Eason book I'm going to recommend first when I introduce the author to a friend.
The begin was captivating and the overall premise was enjoyable. I enjoyed the hero, though I thought his character was a bit lackluster. The tough, ready to handle whatever comes at her personality of the heroine was something I really favored, but that was about it. I felt like this read was very plot driven and not character driven. I didn't know enough about the leading roles, so to speak, to believe their actions were pushing the story forward. It felt like a lot of external drivers and not enough time to truly get to know the characters and their struggles. I listened to the audiobook, and did enjoy the narrator. I received a copy of this book digitally via NetGalley. I read and reviewed this book voluntarily, and all opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

This is a Romantic Suspense, and this is the first book in the Extreme Measures series. The beginning of this book puts you right into the action, and then it goes into suspense. The ending was so good, and there was some good twists. I liked the characters. This book is fast pace, but the romance is slow moving. I felt the romance was good in this book. I loved that this book kept you on the edge of your seat and keep the suspense building in this book. I listened to the audiobook of this book, and I really enjoyed this audiobook. I would not say that the narrator was mine favorite, but the narrator was good and easy to understand what was being said. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher or author (Lynette Eason) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

This wasn't my intention to listen to it on audio but I did enjoy the story. Penny, a pilot for an air ambulance company finds herself in the midst of a serial killer on the loose when she is forced to fly in poor weather, leading to an emergency landing. Multiple events occur, some love and some other unsolved crime gets solved. Overall I enjoyed this. My biggest complaint is the voice changes in the reader, I just find it so annoying. That's a me issue, thought! Thank you NetGalley and Lynette Eason for this ARC.

Lynette Eason has been one of my favorite romantic suspense authors for a long time so I was so excited to see she was starting a new series. I was thrilled when I found out this story was taking place in the mountains of western North Carolina as I called that beautiful setting home at one time. I was hooked on the story from the beginning as it was full of action and nail-biting suspense. I will say the story definitely kept me guessing until the end as it kept changing directions just when I thought I knew what was going on. Let me just say that I never saw the very end coming!! I feel like I should note that I found the creep factor a little higher in this book than maybe some of her others as she takes readers into the mind of a serial killer. However, it did not bother me because it was all so well done and was never more than I could handle. A cat and mouse hunt for a serial killer through the mountains definitely made for an exciting read. I am looking forward to the rest of the series.

I thought the narrator of the book did well. The only issue I had was the voice she used for Raber. It was a bit distracting to the listener.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for a copy of this audiobook. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

Stalker

Exciting, and action packed this book is up and running from page one. The action never stops. The book is filled with suspense and a bit of romance thrown in.

Penny flies helicopters for Life Flight. She loves her job, hates her boss. When they are forced to land on a mountain in a storm with a serial killer on the loose and no phone to call in it all goes wrong.

Penny hikes down the mountain leaving the paramedics in charge of her patient to find a phone. She calls base, has it out with her boss over not having proper equipment and finds out there is a serial killer loose on the mountain.

She hurries back to the helicopter seeing the serial killer on the way. When she arrives they await another chopper. Meanwhile a cop is shot and Penny is almost killed as well. When the shooter falls on his knife and is dead she thinks that is the end of it.

When they find out that the dead man is not the serial killer and he is still on the loose they are all on high alert. However, he has Penny in his thoughts and threatens her again.

Penny must figure out how to stay alive and thwart the killer when she is captured. Will she be able to outwit the killer, or will she be killed like the other women.

The book was exciting and action packed, it keep me interested from the first page to the last. The narrator did a fantastic job . I enjoyed this book and I would recommend it.

Thanks to Lynette Eason for writing a great story, to Sara Sheckells for a great job narrating this audio book to Tantor Audio for publishing it and to NetGalley for making it available to me.

3 Stars

I was really excited to get this advanced audio copy of Life Flight. I’d never come across this author before but the description and cover of the book really appealed to me.

I love fast paced romantic suspense so as this started I was absolutely LOVING it. Boy does it start with a bang. The reader (listener) is thrown in right in the middle of the action and I was hooked.

After the initial drama of the first few chapters calmed down I started to have some reservations however.

While I liked the main characters the author started to over-do things. They had so much emotional baggage it was truly unbelievable. A character doesn’t have to suffer trauma to be interesting and certainly not multiple, overly-dramatic traumas.

As the story continued multiple unrealistic things started to happen. Characters either behaved incomprehensible or the police work in the mystery was circumspect. (I can’t believe DNA results can come back in a couple of hours and an FBI agent wouldn’t take a civilian with him to tell wife her husband was dead)

I ploughed on but unfortunately things got more and more unrealistic for me and I struggled. There was far too much going on for me and I never thought I’d be one to say that about a romantic suspense novel!

I also need to say that while the narration is good the narrator has the oddest, most irritating way of sometimes saying the words “to” and “a” making her sound like a robot. At the beginning this kept pulling me out of the story and keeping me from staying immersed in it.

Ultimately this is written well and the characters are likeable and engaging. If you can suspend your disbelief this is a rip roaring ride that doesn’t let up from start to finish.

Life Flight is the start of another fantastic series by Lynette Eason. It has everything you expect to find in a Lynette Eason book; suspense, action, twists and turns, Christian themes and romance. This was a great story with some really interesting characters. I also enjoyed the twists and turns throughout the story.

I was also given the opportunity to listen to the audiobook of this story. The audiobook was narrated by Sara Sheckells. I enjoyed this narration. It was clear and had some good intonation making it an interesting listen.
