Repotting Your Life is a cleverly presented self help book that delivers common sense tools for one of life’s most stressful events. Deciding to uproot yourself, the process of the change, and the resettlement of life are clearly outlined.

As a certified integrative life and wellness coach, I was intrigued by Edmonds' concept of using container gardening as a metaphor for personal growth. While the approach was fresh, the writing was oddly academic and formal. I should have known when the book starts off with a quote from Ernest C. Arbuckle, Former Stanford Graduate School of Business Dean, 1958-1968. Not the most inspiring first impression. By the time I got to the phrases "biblically allotted lifespan" and "three score years and ten," I knew this would be a DNF for me. This writer chooses to use twelve words when she could use two, and rather than the flowery language adding charm here, it merely distracts and muddles meaning. This might translate better to oral storytelling, but in book form it just didn't work for me. The stars awarded here are for title and concept.

I received a digital pre-publication copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Note to Publisher: Further contributing to my frustration with and the cumbersome reading of this book was the grey "THE EXPERIMENT COPYRIGHT MATERIAL" watermark in the middle Every. Single. Page. It made the text incredibly difficult to read and not worth the eyestrain or effort. In the dozens of electronic pre-pub books I've read and reviewed, this is a first. It telegraphs a distrust of reviewers and leaves a bad impression.

The premise and jacket art show promise but I found the writing style too stuffy, especially for a self-improvement title.

Simply lovely. As someone who was drawn to plants to keep me company and quite honestly distract me during the pandemic, the analogies were touching and will stick with me as I tend to my plant babies.

Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Repotting Your Life is an interesting concept for growth! I found this book to be a creative approach for a development book. While this wasn't for me, I respected the approach. It seems to be a book aimed towards a slower and more mindful approach to growth.
