You've probably seen 3:16 everywhere. Written on the side of the highway, trains, graffiti, lots of locations tagged with this famous number. It has been good to read this book and look at and dissect the phrase that I memorized so long ago. It's not a threat but an invitation. It means Jesus invited us all. There are no exclusions. No matter your denomination or creed or background, this verse invites everyone. Jesus and scripture seem to get used for lots of not-so-great stuff lately. This verse cuts through all of that and gets directly to a promise. I like the way Lucado writes as he talks. It's like reading a sermon with a friendly tone. I like the part where he talks about "whosoever" and how that word alone means that all are invited. Lucado adds lots of great descriptive stories that are relevant and witty--then gets back to research, Biblical history and the word. #316book #maxlucado

What an outstanding book! It explains, enhances, and exalts the most well known verse of the most read book. Max, once again you have shown us such a brilliant word picture. This is one of the few books you will want to read more than once.

Max Lucado has a way of storytelling that facilitates easy conceptualization of Bible content for new believers and long time Christians alike. Max uses this book as a deep dive into John 3:16, using other Bible verses to further explain various parts of the verse. As always, the book left me encouraged and in awe of our good God.

I love Max Lucado books and this was as inspiring and insightful as his other books. I love that he chose a very familiar verse and went in depth so the reader can apply the truths to their life.

Max Lucado is one of my favorite authors and I was excited to have the opportunity to be part of the Launch Team for his new book; 3:16 The Numbers of Hope. This is an updated release, but there is enough new content to make it feel like a new book. I was familiar with this well known Bible verse but never focused in detail the importance of those 26 words. Max has a wonderful way of presenting and breaking down phrase by phrase John 3:16 in both an informative and easy-to-understand way. This book is encouraging and uplifting. I have no doubt it will impact both the seasoned Christian or new believer! #316book

I am currently reading this book.
I read the original version and find it to be similar.
This book draws us closer to the heart of God by using modern stories to illustrate the principles.
If anyone is in a dry spell or going through a time of grief, this book is helpful.
It is especially good because of the trauma we have all been enduring due to the covid stuff.

Throughout this updated and expanded edition of 3:16, Max will invite you to:

- Stand in awe of how deep, wide, long, and high God’s love is for you
- Understand more fully the living hope you have through Jesus’ death and resurrection

- Rest in the assurance that salvation is a gift from God, not something you can earn

If you know nothing of the Bible, start here. John 3:16 invites you to know God’s love deeply and intimately. And once you accept God’s love, your life will never be the same. Thanks to Thomas Nelson and NetGalley for the ARC. I will recommend this book. 5 stars
