To Kiss A King, is by far my favorite of this series. I guessed a lot of what happened, it didn't take away from the book at all though. For Grantham, heavy is the head that wears the crown. Fortunately for him Ophelia is an awesome helpmate. Once they got over their disdain for each other that is.

I received an Advance Reader Copy from the publisher. This in no way impacted on my view.

As the king of Athawick, a nation on the brink of civil unrest, Grantham has the weight of the world on his shoulders. His sisters and brother have found love recently, and he doesn't want to burden anyone with his mistakes. He would do anything for his family, even if that means allowing the one woman who both entices and frustrates him to stay at the palace longer. Lady Ophelia may be the sister of the Duke of Gilmore, but her past has changed her, and she's wary of romance, or even love - though she will admit that her friend, Priscilla, is head over heels in love with Prince Remi. Being at her wedding, and supporting her through her life change, as the newest Princess of Athawick, is the best thing for Ophelia, if only she can stop her feelings for the grumpy moody king. However, when she starts to see the real Grantham, and the pressure he is under, Ophelia will do what it takes to ease his problems, and be the person he needs in his life.

I'm so happy with this book. When we met Ophelia in The Three Mrs series, I wanted to know more about her, and see her get her happy ending. And as soon as she and King Grantham met, it was clear that the sparks flying between them were enough to spark a blaze, and it was only time until it set alight. Grantham was a character who I couldn't really get a feel for in the previous books, but it was clear that he took a lot of pressure on himself, and that his father had been abusive towards him too, as he had been his other siblings. But as the heir and eldest, Grantham took the lion share of the abuse, and now he accepted the blame and guilt for the problems occurring in his kingdom. I truly felt sorry for him, and was glad with how events carried out in the book, including with his family, which were definitely for the best. Grantham and Ophelia's romance was fantastic, and though there were moments of strife and angst, they opened up to each other, and allowed their vulnerabilities to make them the best people they can be. Now there's just to wait for the final book in the series, The Queen's Man, which is set to be outstanding!

Light and cheerful Ophelia can not understand why she is attracted to dark and scowling Grantham. Grantham thinks she is a hoyden and trouble. Both of them try, unsuccessfully, to fight the attraction. I received an ARC from NetGalley and Passionate Pen for my honest review.

Take one staid hero and mix that with one gregarious heroine and explosions occur both verbally and sexually. If you have been reading Jess for a while you might remember Ophelia’s backstory and add in Grantham’s own terrible backstory has these two people coming together to comfort one another. The mystery of the overthrow of the king is finally revealed but it does not take over the story. The real story is Ophelia and Grantham’s dancing around, kissing despite themselves, the throne room and understanding. I thought Remi and Priscilla were my favorite of this royal family well, Grantham and Ophelia are neck in neck with them. Even though royal romances are not my favorite, Jess has shown me that they can be fun and flirty and fabulous!

This series included a make believe Kingdom so it is very fitting that the match between King Grantham of Athawick and Lady Ophelia (sister to the Duke of Gilmore) was a true fairy tale.
From the very beginning, the wealth of feelings between Grantham and Ophelia was very apparent. However, both had their guard up for various reasons and tried to avoid acknowledging them. Once they began to break down those walls, the relationship that was revealed was beautiful.
Ophelia was my absolute favorite, as she was able to help restore so many broken relationships that the title had destroyed for Grantham. It was frustrating to see him turn her away time and time again as she was doing everything possible to ease his burdens.
I wish there has been more time at the end to draw out what an asset Ophelia was for Grantham (and allow for a bit more groveling perhaps) but overall, this was a great read!

I received an ARC from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Grantham has the weight of the world and the monarchy quite literally on his shoulders. Every decision he makes is for his people, and he keeps everyone at arms length away from him including his family. Lady Ophelia draws people to her like a moth to a flame, and allows them to bask in the sun for a little while. While a political uprising is occurring, Grantham and Olivia take comfort in each other even after being adversaries since their first meeting.

This book combines some of my favorite tropes: royalty, class difference, and enemies to lovers. It was an excellent addition to the series. I've had a soft spot for Grantham since the first book with him being closed off and cold. I just knew it was hiding a passionate man behind it. He and Ophelia were always at odds, but that chemistry and tension was always boiling just under the surface. It really exploded in this book, and it was hot, hot, so hot. These two burned up the pages. On top of that, I loved their emotional connection too and the way they expressed their vulnerability with each other. They were a comfort to each other in times of trouble. They are the other's person, and I loved feeling that all-abiding love throughout the book.

I can't wait for the next one, but I'm sure this one will still remain my favorite because it was spectacular 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

I'm a huge fan of historical romances, and this one was great! It had very historically accurate details in terms of the character descriptions, setting, and plot devices. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoyed the T.V. show Bridgerton! It reminded me a lot of that show while I was reading the story, and it definitely had all of the wonderful romantic prose and poetic descriptions that historical romance is known for.

Inheriting a crown has weighed heavily on King Grantham of Athawick. Rebellion is brewing, his family has been attacked, and the last thing he needs is a certain woman getting under his skin! Royal guest Lady Ophelia thinks the king is dismissive and forever-frowning. She'll happily tweak his nose; she just needs to remember to protect her heart.

This is the fourth book in the Regency Royals series, and I would recommend reading in order to avoid spoilers and better appreciate the family dynamic. This book also has a tie-in to Michaels' previous series, The Three Mrs, and Ophelia has a conversation with Grantham about the storyline of those books (which are also excellent, and I highly recommend them!).

This story is everything that I wanted! Despite her past, Ophelia is warm, friendly, and has the kind of bright personality that attracts others to her. Even those that don't want to like her...like Grantham. She captivates him and he's frosty in response. But he desperately needs to be wanted as a man, not just a King. Eventually he can't fight it anymore...and it's glorious, and OH SO SEXY!

Tropes: Royalty, Enemies to Lovers (sort of), Opposites Attract
