Parts of this book resonated, while others didn't. But that is the purpose of a book that is written to help the reader dive into their deeper feelings. One thing that I firmly believe is the dangers of the word should. "You should do that." "You should do that." I never listen to them or say them. Who am I to tell anyone what they should or shouldn't do?
A well-written book with a lot of interesting points. .

I have been searching for a book like this to help me get back on track after feeling as if I have lost my way. Living On Purpose provides a roadmap to finding your way and focusing your efforts to give purpose to your existance. I loved the clear steps, thoughtful questions, and checklists at the end of each section. I have a lot of work to do, but with this book, I have a guide and a path to a life with purpose.

While this book wasn't exactly what I expected, I did enjoy it and get some things from it. It helped me look at some things in new ways, which is one of the things that I love most about reading. It helps a lot when I feel stuck in life to be reminded of the things that I take for granted and how lucky I am in many ways, even though my life has been one struggle after another. I appreciate books like this because it helps me so much to fight my depression when I am able to read a book that is written in a way that makes me feel a bit better about life in general.

Overall I enjoyed reading this book. It caused me to do some personal reflection that I found helpful. I coach women to find their joy in life and will recommend this to them.

I wanted to love this book, but I just couldn't. It was very similar to many of the other books that I have read with this type of message. I took a way a few tidbits but nothing special.

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It has provided much insightful information about how to go about living your life on purpose. While it gets a little too "clinical" at times, most of it is written in very relatable, everyday terms. Ms. Wong clearly knows her subject and presents it well.

I really enjoyed this. It was actually just what I needed! I particularly liked Amy's concept of replacing the "shoulds" in life with "will" or "have to," as in "I should earn more money" --> "I WILL earn more money." It's been a really helpful reframing for me. I appreciate Amy's credentials as a career coach and could feel her philosophy coming through the pages. I'd recommend this to anyone struggling with burnout.

As a SAHM, I have trouble connecting to people these days. I get bogged down in toddlerhood and find it hard to talk to other people. Thank you Amy Eliza Wong for showing me small ways to get back to myself.

Living On Purpose is one of the most impactful books I've read this year. I've read many self-help books about purposeful living, and they are often similar to each other. This one presented information in a new way, giving me several a-ha moments. I felt like the author could have written the book specifically for me. It was easy to pull out the key takeaways from each section, and page references made it simple to go back to review an earlier concept. My favorite lesson was the energy behind feeling like you "should" do something. Although I've heard a lot over the years about not "shoulding" on yourself, reading this book was the first time I understood the why behind that recommendation, making it easier for me to reframe my thinking. The energy of should is negative. It references a theoretical reality that should exist, but doesn't, because you aren't doing what you should be. Focusing on this makes you feel bad about yourself and drains your energy/motivation. Flipping your thought pattern to positive energy about the reality you want to create and moving towards that is liberating and motivating.

Written by a very excited and fulfilled personal coach regurgitating a whole lot of standard issue personal growth stuff that's geared towards upwardly mobile middle class white or white passing people. This would be very toxic for someone to read if there weren't able to quit a job to pursue a "passion" due to the normal circumstances/responsibilities. Could not enjoy this book even a little.

ARC from publisher via NetGalley, but the opinions are my own.

This book is great for people in the early stages of their personal development/living on purpose journey. A lot of the concepts weren't new to me personally, but I know they would be very helpful for those who are just starting out. A solid self help/personal development read, with a great message. I appreciate how many different topics were touched on, and the stories that Amy shared. Living on purpose is so important, and I think this book will help a lot of people! Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I appreciated the reiteration at the end of each chapter of where we were in the journey through the book however, I could see that this might feel a little repetitious to some people. Good concrete examples of all concepts. Nice self help book.

This was a DNF for me...I skimmed the entire thing to see if there was anything particularly new or meaningful for me in it, but it was a pretty typical book. I was intrigued by the idea of a mathematician approach to this topic, as I"m all about logic and science and numbers, but there wasn't anything particularly groundbreaking in here. All these books are kind of the same, and I much prefer the Designing Your Life approach instead.

I have been reading a lot of self-improvement and life purpose books, but I appreciated the additions that this book adds to the conversation. For instance, when addressing embracing our own innate wholeness, I thought it was helpful to move from belief to knowing - it makes a lot of sense even though I had never really thought about the application of this idea in this way. I was also glad that it was a secular approach while very grounded in a lot of beliefs that I've also come across in Eastern philosophy such as suggestions about mindfulness and being present through practicing meditation. Again, though, there were always fresh insights along the way such as the distinction she makes between having nerves (natural) and nervousness as a sign of hanging on to our own ego too much by seeking evidence of our own worth rather than embracing purpose outside of ourselves. While I think this is particularly resonant as a middle-aged person, I think it is also expressed in a way that could easily appeal to the teens I serve, as well.

Amy Wong is a transformational leadership coach, and uses her life's experience to help others into finding their purpose and growing in their purpose. This book is geared to those that are dissatisfied and want to make a change, and how to go about said change. This was an interesting and informative read

This was truly a powerful book. It was part self-help but also part wisdom. I felt the author did a beautiful job of authentically getting her point across without being preachy (which can be hard to do in self-help!)
I felt more guided than just "reading it" as a typical book and I really felt that she wholeheartedly wants her readers to experience what she has and find the life they want. The combination of her own experience and those of her clients brought these aspirations to life. An excellent read for someone not only looking to improve their life but who they are as a person as well.
Thank you NetGalley and Greenleaf Book Group for an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thank you for the uplifting, spirited direction you have offered, Amy.

Living on Purpose helps identify focus and direction toward a more meaningful life. I believe most people have yet to find purpose or continue to search for more depths of purpose. Though not all people will take the time to focus, gain their consciousness, and discover their belonging, any semblance or beacon of light to help others will always add value to a person's experience.

Purpose and actions are dependent on each other. Living through another person's experience does help build a relationship to realize what is achievable. With Amy's personal experiences and those who have received her guidance, she helps bring more light to a person's darkness. The weights of clouds and burdens of guilt become nothing when people find purpose. Amy includes perspectives, practices, and questions for the reader to answer.

Though not all people can experience such a fruitful upbringing or a good relationship with a spouse, any movements or steps to realize purpose help a person overcome some suffering. I hope people will read this book to achieve what Amy hopes for.

This book is written with openness and heart by an author who believes that everyone can tap into leading an “authentic” life. The term has become overused, I know, but this is just what Ms. Wong wants for the readers whom she guides in this title. She will help them to look at how they got to where they are (including possibly getting derailed at some point) and will help them to dream and live the life that they truly want. Along the way, she will share much of her own experience and that of some of her clients. Those looking for a bit of self-improvement and, I think, self-acceptance may want to give this book a look.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Greenleaf Book Group for this title. All opinions are my own.
