Can I say how much I love astrology? As some of you have probably realized by now, I pick up hobbies and fall in love with them or grow bored with them. Astrology is one of those things I decided last year to dive into when I found a GIANT book at a local metaphysical store. Now, I haven't read that book (yet), but I've been deep-diving into some smaller books. So when I saw What's Your Sign up on Netgalley as an audiobook, I knew I needed to buy the book. My lovely cousin recommended the Sanctuary app when I was in Utah visiting family, so when I saw that the minds behind the Sanctuary App wrote this book, I jumped at the chance to read it.
What's Your Sign is one of those astrology books that I would recommend to anyone that wants to get a basic yet still in-depth rundown on astrology. This book walks you through the planets, the houses, transits, and the signs. In addition, this book broke down the more complex concepts and explained them in a way that I could understand.
The audiobook's narration was pretty good, but I will say, I think you should buy the physical/digital book instead or in addition. I found myself wanting to highlight sections, take notes, and refer to past sections, which is hard to do when reading an audiobook.
All in all, I really enjoyed this book. I know the Scorpio section was pretty dead-on when it came to me and the Virgo Moon & Cancer Rising section was also pretty accurate. So if you're interested in astrology, this might be the perfect book for you!
You don’t have to be famous to dance with the stars—you just need a healthy dose of cosmic curiosity.
So, I am one of these people who has a healthy dose of cosmic curiosity. Ever since I was a teenager, and realised that the moon definitely had control over my moods, I have read various books learning more about my star sign and what traits it determined in my life and personality.
I was a bit sceptical about this book at first with it being in audio version, a hard copy of the book would be really good so you could study your own sign in more details or skip through the chapters you are more interested in. The narrator did mention the audio came with a PDF but there wasn't one downloadable from Netgalley. She was really enjoyable to listen to, and made the facts interesting and fun, rather than boring. That being said, this works really well and the Sanctuary app that you can download alongside it helps you understand in more details and shows you your birth chart and gives more information about your star and for free and even speak to astrolgers if you desire.
This book guides beginners and enthusiasts alike through the signs, planets, and basics of astrology, helping you understand why not every Leo is the same. It is very information and I think a printer copy would be a great addition to anyones collection on the subject.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Thank you to the author, publisher and Net Galley for providing a free e-audio copy of this book in exchange for my review.
I haven't really gotten into the world of astrology - I know my sign and have read my horoscope from time to time, but I'm pretty much a beginner on the whole topic. For me, this was a great book - the actual book would be wonderful, though. The narrator was entertaining and enjoyable to listen to, but there were so many references to charts and tables, and my e-audio ARL didn't come with the PDF, so I felt a bit lost. However, I enjoyed the way the book was laid out so much, I did put the print copy of the book on my wish list so that when the book is released, I can see the charts and images while I re-read the book.
For someone who is familiar with astrology and birth charts and related topics, this might not be very enjoyable, this really is an intro to the topic, and a bit of a selling point for the Sanctuary app. However, I do feel that you could probably enjoy this book/audio without downloading the app at all. (I did download the app, however it is not working today while I finished listening, so I can't make a comment to the actual app.) IT does feel like the book could be a reference book, separate from the app.
I enjoyed this book and feel like the information was laid out in a way that was very easy to follow even though the subject itself can get very confusing. The narrator was lively and read in a way that can easily hold the listeners attention. I think this audiobook is a great place to start if someone has interest in learning about Astrology, but doesn't know where to start. I tried out the app that the book suggests and did not like it, but it did not take away from the enjoyment of the book itself.
Listening to this audiobook was a pleasant experience but the content didn’t rock my world. I found it a little hard to follow at times and ultimately finished feeling unchanged. The narrator has a lovely way about her, very conversational. Give it a listen if you are interested in learning more about astrology or are looking for something relaxing. 3 stars.
Very energetically narrated and a joy to listen to, this book should be considered a taster session.
The information is defined and well delivered, but not in audiobook format.
The comparisons and charts could not be appreciated as an audiobook.
I most appreciated the overview of the positioning influences and meaning of the houses.
I would like to study it further but need a print or visible format in order to do so.
Thank you to Netgalley and Sanctuary Astrology for this great introduction.
I will follow it up by getting to know Sanctuary further.
What’s Your Sign is a basic introduction to the world of astrology. As someone who reads their horoscope once in a blue moon I was very excited to learn more about my star sign.
The book has lots of information and would be good for beginners. However, this book did not work as an audiobook. This is very much a visual book and should be read in a printed format. Not only would it be easier to understand but it would also be easier to navigate as a physical book. I found it very difficult trying to skip to the chapter about my sign.
I really enjoyed listening to the narrator. She had a relaxing tone of voice which made this the perfect book to listen to before bed. Very easy to listen too. Would definitely listen to more books narrated by her.
Enjoyable narrator with fun delivery, though the material might be best understood through print media. However, for someone already familiar with the subject or who wants a refresher on the book can enjoy this one greatly.
A simple, straightforward introduction to astrology. As someone who has only ever previously looked into their own sign, I learned a lot about the basics of astrology. I enjoyed the narration, but did find the audiobook format hard to navigate when looking for specific signs. I wish the signs were broken down into individual or smaller chapters so you could easily find the sign/planet you were looking for.
There are haters in the reviewers like "I don't believe in this" - do you read Bigfoot or ghost books as well when you don't believe, or are you deliberately trolling? I give this four stars as an earnest reader.
Anyways, this was a quirky little introduction to some basic astro knowledge I was lacking myself, after years of listening to better-informed friends who have done deep dive studying on the topic. It was admittedly a choppy format to do as an audiobook ARC on the Netgalley app - there's like no way to navigate to the specific signs you might be listening for.
Still, the narrator's voice was pleasant, the Dad Jokes weren't too unbearable as the topic transitioned, and I feel like I genuinely learned some things. I had never delved into Venus, Mars etc. rulings, so it was a solid foundation of knowledge. Odd things like my Saturn sign suddenly made a lot of sense, given my personality.
I say take this at face value - don't read if you don't believe in it, and otherwise it's a helpful starter book. I didn't realize it's tied into an app, which I might try now. Cute cover and title, too.
I love books about astrology and I am proud to add this to my collection. What's Your Sign? by Sanctuary Astrology is an amazing guide to understanding astrology. Experts and beginners alike can find something to learn in this book. It was interesting to learn about the different zodiac signs and their meanings. From understanding your planets and signs and how they impact your chart, this book covers so much of the complexities surrounding astrology. I really loved the illustrations in the book, and thought there was so much useful information for beginners and experts alike.
✨What’s your sign? A Guide to Astrology for the Cosmically Curious by Sanctuary Astrology & Jorjeana Marie (Narrator)✨

My feelings represented as emojis: ✨✨✨🌌🌌🌌♏️♏️♏️♏️💗💗💗📖📖🎧🎧
So I am unsure of my feelings towards astrology and tbh I still am even after listening to this. I have always loved reading my sign (Scorpio ♏️💀) for the day, month or year and really felt that I connected to it and that it was my sign 100% but my boyfriend is the same sign as me (his bday is 2 days before mine) and he just is not a Scorpio so I have always been interested in learning why people can be the same sign and completely different people. This audiobook definitely helped me understand a bit about this, but didn’t go too much into it allowing a lot of room for unanswered questions from me!
However, this did provide an interesting overview of astrology and was informative if only on a beginner level. It for sure is the perfect book for people wanting to get into astrology as it goes through all the basics. It also has an app that you can use whilst reading it which I thought was a good idea but was kinda all over the place in practice. On the app, you couldn’t skip around as the book said that you could, but other than that I think the app paired with this was a great idea and if updated it could be a way to bring more information and allow the reader extra tools to deepen their understanding! I feel it would have been more effective as a physical book/ e-book rather than an audiobook but nonetheless, I thought it achieved what it soughed out to!
I loved how it expanded on more than just your sun sign. I never understood anything else other than that but now I think I’m beginning to understand and enjoy other sides of astrology! I would love to deepen my knowledge beyond this book and do believe it was a great starting block to learning more about astrology!
Overall I would recommend it for people wanting to get into astrology but if you want to get into the nitty-gritty of it you would for sure need more than this! I’m going to give it 3⭐️
✨ Thanks to Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review ✨
What *is* your sign, though? I knew I was a Gemini, but I had no idea about my moon sign, rising sign, and what the ruling planets of my various houses meant. Shoutout to this short, concise book that explains the basics of your star chart and has an app that can help you understand these things, provide solid horoscopes, and connects you with qualified astrologers to learn more.
There are several ways to use this book. You can go straight through the introduction, breakdown of what everything means, and more info about each sign. You can skip straight to your sign and only listen to that, or you can jump around as different things interest you to learn more about each part.
I also downloaded the app, and they are still developing it, but the basics are there for more understanding, and that helped me as the book explained each part and what it meant. I already have a better handle on my chart than I ever did before, and this book was a great jumping off point to dig even deeper. I recommend it for the compelte novice and or the casually interested party. You’re bound to learn something cool about yourself.
This is like a coffee table book but for some reason it was turned into an audiobook. I imagine this would be incredible to have on your coffee table to flip through sometimes. As an audiobook, it’s kind of a mess. Honestly, I picked this book up because I thought it was an adaption of the podcast What’s Your Sign? Which is the only astrology podcast I listen to and which I once gave a three-star review on Facebook to because it was “too gendered”. (It gets less gendered!) I thought that reading and reviewing this audiobook would be my redemption arc! But it is not put out by the double Tauruses of What’s Your Sign, it is put out by Sanctuary Astrology, which is an app with the ugliest icon I’ve ever seen. Anyhow, after reading this book, I know way too much about astrology, and I know more about houses but have retained none of the information about how houses relate to my chart. Three stars. No redemption arc. (Fantastic audiobook narrator. 5 stars, but I’ve enjoyed her work more on novels.)
This is a basic guide to astrology and is meant for beginners. It mainly covers the concept of a birth chart, the information needed to develop one, and the basics of how to interpret it, with a particular emphasis on Sun, Moon, and Ascending signs. There’s also a guide for each of the 12 signs and the characteristics they embody.
Okay, truth be told, I’ve never really been into astrology. I mean, I knew I was an Aquarius, but I didn’t really even know what that meant. When I stumbled across this book, I decided to try it just out of curiosity. The level of knowledge was perfect for someone like me who had only a vague understanding of what astrology is. I found the book interesting and easy to follow.
The audiobook is narrated by Jorjeana Marie. She did a great job keeping the book light and engaging while also providing a lot of information.
If you’re curious about the general idea of astrology and how it works, this is a great introduction.
As a follower of Sanctuary on Instagram, seeing that this book is from them was an immediate draw for me. I had an idea what I’d be getting into with this book and it didn’t disappoint.
I’d read a few other reviews and I will say - if you’re not a believer in astrology, this won’t convert you. It just a basic guide for those that are curious about astrology and how it works. It goes over the planets and the signs in a short and easy to grasp fashion. There’s nothing about it that’s meant to convince anyone of the validity of astrology, it’s just for those that are curious - as the title says.
I received the audiobook from NetGalley (thank you!) and my comments on that are pretty standard. The narrator uses an upbeat tone of voice and keeps the content fun and light while giving out the information included in this book.
Overall I’m gonna give it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. As long as you take this book for what it is, it’s great!
I have the app to Sanctuary as well as viewing it on Instagram. I love it. I liked this book but where I think it failed is on this audiobook platform for Netgalley. The book is made so that you can skip around and select what sign/planet that corresponds with you, but with this app you can't do that. Selecting a chapter is difficult to say the least.
I did like the book was enjoyed the narration.
Unfortunately I couldn't get into the audiobook 1) because of the narration and 2) because I think this is better as a visual book (the narrator mention graphics to guide the reader) DNF the audiobook but will consider reading a physical copy.
What’s Your Sign? is an informative and delightful audiobook that covers a great deal of information about astrology. The book is written to be used with the app Sanctuary if desired, but it is not necessary or required to do so. I was curious, so I downloaded the app and found it useful in learning more about my chart. I appreciated that this book was designed to appeal to everyone- for people who intended to read the whole thing front to back or those who are only interested in what applies to them. What’s Your Sign has a good mix of fun details (such as Zodiac Bingo Board) and ways for people to pursue learning the more intricate details of their chart. The writing is accessible for astrology students of all levels. The audiobook narrator was cheerful and full of energy. I learned a lot about my chart and enjoyed the audiobook experience. I would recommend this book for astrology enthusiasts and beginners. What’s Your Sign? is available on February 15, 2022. Thank you to Sanctuary Astrology, Andrews McMeel Audio, and Netgalley for a free audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
For publisher: My review will be posted on the publication date and I will publish it on Instagram, Goodreads, Amazon, Storygraph, and Barnes & Noble etc

This book was fun and very entertaining, while still being informative. It really helped me to understand the different parts that make up a birth chart in astrology (as well as the different types of astrology in the world, and the uses that people usually consult their star charts for).
