I've been super into astrology lately and learning more about it. So this was definetly very imformative. The audiobook listening experience was enjoyable. Though I feel I would benefit from getting a phyiscal copy; I'll be getting one when it comes out.
As for the content, this is perfect for beginners getting into astrology and understanding the basics. It discusses the personal planets (sun, moon, ascendent, mercury, mars and venus) and the outer planets (jupitier, uranus, neptune and pluto). This also devles into the twelve houses and what they represent.
Overall, it was a great read and would highly recommend it for those wanting to learn the basics about astrology.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an audio-arc in exchange for an honest review.
This book is both for the total novice to astrology or someone likes reading their daily horoscopes, but now wants to dip their toes more into the world of astrology. The audiobook’s narrator has a very calm and chill voice which makes it the perfect audiobook to listen at night before bed. If possible, I would suggest you have the actual book with you while listening to this book as there are illustrations that you are better off seeing for yourself instead of listening to the descriptions.
Honestly I didn’t finished, only because this book is a little below my knowledge so I found myself getting a bit bored. But if you are new to the zodiac this is a great start to get into it or if you like the sanctuary app :)
This is a good introduction to astrology, and expands on more than just your sun sign (though of course that is in there as well) . While the audiobook is good, I think a hard copy of this book will be better for most people, so they can treat it more as a reference book. While not a long book, you will definitely want to highlight, underline, or come back to certain sections as you expand your knowledge on Astrology.
This is a great addition to your spiritual shelf in your home library. It would also make a great birthday gift for any friends and family members who are interested in astrology and birth charts.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for my advanced copy in exchange for a review.
What’s your sign by sanctuary astrology. If you are wanting to learn about your birth chart and the different aspects of your astrology. This is the book you need. This is done by the application sanctuary. You can do your birth chart. You will need the time and place of your birth. Learn what the houses the moon and sun and different positions mean with this book coming out in February
Pro tip: If you’re new to astrology, download the Sanctuary app before reading this book. And if you’re not new to astrology like me, this isn’t geared to you. Unless you’re obsessed with the Sanctuary app like me and it’s more of a want ✨
Another note: This book isn’t for astrology doubters but—like the subtitle says—for the cosmically curious.
This book is full of information you can Google—or read more about in the Sanctuary app, with information tailored to your natal chart. Yet it’s a handy reference nonetheless.
This is a fantastic and easy-to-consume primer for those interested in astrology. I found the breakdowns of the signs (especially Pisces) to be spot on. If you're interested in astrology but don't know where to start, this would be a good one to pick up!
This is a general guide about astrological signs and their meanings. As someone who had no previous experience or knowledge on this topic, I enjoyed learning about the history of astrology, and related information about the birth chart.
The narrator was very entertaining, with a bubbly voice and I appreciated the jokes sprinkled throughout the book. This layout in this book was unique, in that the reader can read the entire book or read certain sections, but they would still learn new information. For instance, I learned a lot from the overview of the signs and Big 3 but am still confused about the planets.
Overall, this was a nice, easy way to learn about an unfamiliar topic.
Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for an ARC of this book.
Pros: I feel like I’m often left out of conversations and memes because I do not know anything about astrology except for being able to answer the question posed in the title of this book. I love books like this that are introductions to a topic, and listening to the audiobook felt like a friend was explaining it to me. Before I started listening to this book, I got my birth chart so I’d be ready to learn about the topic generally and specifically. I could not believe how accurate the moon and rising signs were for me. I especially enjoyed learning about things shared by my generation and what that might mean for the future.
I appreciate that this book is very transparent about being attached to an app but that it can be enjoyed without joining the app. I ended up joining the app while reading the book because I enjoyed the book so much.
Cons: I think by listening to the audiobook I might have missed some great things included in the book including infographics. I think the audiobook has a PDF companion, which solves this problem. I just did not have it as part of the advanced listener copy.
Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Audio for the opportunity to listen to this book.
I have loved the Sanctuary app for a while now because of its digestible content and I’m so glad they came out with a book to give beginners and advanced users alike more detail on how to get into astrology beyond that surface sun sign! While audio is available, I would highly recommend it as a companion to the kindle or physical copy. It’s necessary! I will be referring back to this one frequently. Read this to learn more about yourself, especially if you think your horoscope or sun sign doesn’t match you. I find this all so fascinating.

How bout you?
This was a fun way to spend a few hours with my spiritual side tonight.
The narrator wasn’t for me—to sugar sweet and a millennial trope, but the content kept me thru to the finish.
For anyone who is astrology curious up thru those who know their big 3.
