I reviewed this for #netgalley for my personal children. I love finding a good coloring book for home. Coloring gives a sense of calm and adding in God makes it even better. The pictures were cute and well done. This would be a great book for summer days.
From the 19 promises out of 100, the devotional will excites your kids. They can color, sometimes draw, sometimes doing mazes throughout their journey with God. In their ups and down, they can count on God, and still looking forward to do something beautiful in the book. Slowly, but surely, kids will learn who God is, and defined who He is in their life. Such a wonderful book for kids from 6 to 9 years old.
What a great gift this will make and I have it on my list for gifts for my grandchildren. Each page is a canvas for the artist and the words of God's love. Who He is and what He has done. With a verse and commentary, it also gives opportunity for parents to discuss how application can be applied. It is a great tool for families to do together and strengthen their faith and relationships.
A special thank you to Thomas Nelson Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.
I think this is a fantastic coloring devotional. I really like the variety of coloring activities. Some are complex, and others are very simple. There are a few other things like mazes, connect the dots and free draw/writing spaces.
I really like the devotions, and the way they draw simple and practical parallels for some complex truths, making them very accessible to kids, and busy moms who maybe get so distracted they forget.
For example, day 4, uses hot air balloons to illustrate a portion of Psalm 146.8, which says that the Lord will lift up those who are troubled (or oppressed/bowed down depending on translation).
"Next time a problem is keeping you down, talk to God about it. When you spend time with Him, His warmth will make you feel lighter. He will lift you out of the confusion around you. Your problem may still be there on the ground below, but you'll feel his quiet peace."
Or day 22, which talks about how God never stops working, even behind the scenes when it seems like nothing is happening. The lesson on how we can wait actively by putting on the Armor of God, and memorize scripture, and sing worship songs while we wait, preparing for whatever God has in store.
If your kids enjoy coloring, this is a fun and practical 100 day devotional. Even if they'd rather not color, the devotion and illustration are great. (as a mom of 2 boys who don't particularly like to color that much, I'll probably be the one who does the coloring, but we'll still enjoy unwrapping these promises of God's love together.
I received a copy of this book from Tommy Nelson and Netgalley, and chose to review it here. All thoughts are my own.
Coloring God’s Love for Me by Janae Dueck is a wonderful and adorable devotional for young children. It features 100 different devotionals, each one featuring a Bible verse and a corresponding coloring page. My seven-year-old was excited when he saw the cover and enjoyed reading it with me. I thought the devotionals were well geared toward young children, addressing topics that would interest them or worry them. They also did a good job of giving suggestions on how to grow closer to God–either through prayer or daily living. And the color pictures are so cute! Some of the coloring pages are more advanced than others, so they cover several age groups. And some of the devotionals have a journaling prompt instead (usually still with coloring or drawing involved).
Overall, this is a great devotional for elementary-aged kids. And it would make a perfect gift, too! We are getting ready to take a road trip, and this book is going to tag along. We can have family devotional time, and the kiddo can color the pictures! Perfect!
I was given a copy of this book by the publisher with no expectations for a positive review. All opinions are my own.
Thank you to NetGalley for my ARC of Coloring God's Love for Me in exchange for my honest review.
Coloring God's Love for Me is a refreshing activity book!
What a delightful devotional for children today.
I loved the scriptures on each page, the opportunity for children to reflect on the scripture and the coloring pages that accompanied each scripture.
This would be a wonderful gift for a baptism, first communion, birthday and more.
Wonderful book! Well suited for ages 8+, this book can be a good conversation starter with your children. With beautiful pictures to colour, each theme points to a truth from God’s Word. The devotions are short but precise and well adapted for young ages.
I can see many morning baskets filled with this book!
Thank you Netgalley for this arc edition!
Coloring God's Love for Me is a beautiful and lovely devotional for kids. I am loving every topic, it's exactly what our kids need in this season of life. I received an avance copy of this book from Thomas Nelson Publishers via Netgalley in interchange for my honest opinion. I just have access to the half of the book but what i read I totally love it. I am looking forward to get the physical book and read it with my kiddos.
Coloring God's Love for Me is a very nice devotional for children with heavy weight pages to color with markers, gel pens, pens, pencils, and crayons. It has topics that are on a child's level and might concern children, both those of happiness and anxiety, school or family issues. Included are scripture references that reassure the child of God's love for them His protection, and direction. There is an option for the children to write down thoughts and questions with the suggestion of learning verses. The book has some nice pictures to color and other activities, such as a maze. The book is rated for children 6 to 9 but I feel that my six-year-old grandsons might need some help reading the text. The coloring pictures are lovely but a little complex for younger children so my thoughts are that the age group could go higher than nine years old. That being said, this is a great thought provoking and comforting devotional with activities to engage the child and give them reassurance. It is a definitely a book that I will keep in mind for my grandchildren.
I received a complimentary sample ARC from Thomas Nelson and NetGalley. I was able to read the book on my Kindle and see pictures on the NetGalley app on my phone. All thoughts and opinions are mine only.
Thank you NetGalley for giving me a preview of this book for free.
"Coloring God's Love For Me" is the perfect book for me. It combines two of my favorite things, Devotionals and coloring. Coloring and meditating on God's word is such a relaxing thing to do and I do it often. I can't wait until this comes out so I can get a physical copy for my collection.
This coloring devotional book is good for any age. It features a great mix of both simple and more complex illustrations to color so it's good for any coloring level. The line art is dark and isn't pixelated at all which makes it easier to color. I highly recommend this book.
This is a delightful devotional for children and I would classify it for ages 8-12 or so because of the themes in the devotionals and the intricate coloring pages. It is a perfect book to share with your child, read it and discuss it together or it is also useful for the child to work on the devotionals and coloring pages alone. The topics are extremely pertinent for children, including things about giving God your burdens (with a suitcase at the visual aid) and going on an adventure with God as well as believing His promises and trusting Him. There are so many various topics that the book is not only useful but also applicable to various age groups and both genders. The writing is clear and precise, on age level for the ages I mentioned previously and relatable to children. The Scriptures used are practical and worth using as memory verses for the child. Parents will want to snap up this book to encourage creativity as well as a daily walk with God through a devotional made just for the children in their lives. The illustrations are amusing and appropriate for children. I enjoyed the sample of the book that was provided and look forward to receiving a hard copy. I have three or four grandchildren in mind who would enjoy this book and delving into God’s Word in a fun way that also allows them to express themslelves. I particularly liked the personal and thoughtful questions in each devotional that encourages the child to dig into their own habits and life and get closer to God.

What a wonderful book!
I will order several copies to have on hand as gifts for my younger friends! The devotions are well-written and just the right length to hold the attention of the 6-9-year-old crowd. But, the illustrations to color are breathtaking. I just made order a copy for myself, after all I DO have a young heart!
This is a thoughtful, age-appropriate and delightful children's devotional plus coloring book. The suggested ages are 6-9 years, and the book contains both simple and complex coloring pages to add to the devotional and help children remember the concepts. The application contained in the devotional is helpful and reinforces concepts.
I received a complimentary sample of the book without obligation. This review is my opinion.
