This is a cute retelling of the Cinderella story. This Cinderella names Diana had a conman for a mom, and now needs money for her sister’s medical treatment. When she sees an ad for a nanny she applies, even though she doesn’t meet the qualifications in the ad.
Diana falls in love with her charge, then meets his uncle, the Earl-to-be Griffin Windsor. She and Griffin have serious chemistry, and he takes her to a charity ball and teaches her to ski. Pretty soon she’s falling in love with him too, but she’s afraid he’ll leave her when he finds out she lied to get the job.
I loved the descriptions of Aspen, and the characters fit together very well. This is a fun retelling romance, 4 stars.
Synopsis:
What could come between a nanny and an earl in a fairy-tale love story? A reality check—in an endearing and witty romance by Sariah Wilson, the bestselling author of Roommaid.
With her sister’s medical bills mounting, Diana Parker can’t say no to a had a high-paying opportunity like this: accompany a wealthy couple to Aspen and nanny their precocious five-year-old son for three months. Necessary qualifications? She must know how to ski and teach math, speak fluent French, excel at social graces, and hold a master’s degree in childhood development. Who’ll be the wiser that Diana’s only skill is packing for Colorado?
So far, so good—having a con woman for a mother has turned out to be a benefit, even if Diana has complicated feelings about telling lies. But she’s doing this for her sister. And the perks—like a ticket to a lavish charity fundraiser, a new gown, and a Prince Charming–adjacent earl named Griffin Windsor—are pretty irresistible. Diana can’t deny the Cinderella vibe.
Wary of gold diggers and scandal, England’s most eligible bachelor is nevertheless falling for Diana, and sweeping the not-quite princess off her feet.
The warmer their relationship becomes, the slipperier the slopes are for Diana. Sooner or later, she’ll have to come clean. When that happens, does an honest-to-goodness happy ending stand a chance.

Cinder-Nanny by Sariah Wilson is a romantic comedy with elements of the Cinderella fairytale. In this story we meet Diana who has just accepted a nannying gig in Aspen with an elite family. She completely lied on her resume to get the job and while she feels immense guilt, it was done for selfless reasons as she needed to get money to help with her sister's surgery. A run in with Griffin has him picking up her shoe and that's when sparks fly. But she's there to do a job, which is to care for a young boy named Milo, a boy who thinks he suffers from every disease under the sun. There's no time for romance but everywhere she goes she seems to run into Griffin, the handsome British Earl. He is very insistent on getting to know her and when Diana sees him with his niece Sophie, that's when things start to change. These two are able to help one another and the tension is palpable every time they are together. But what happens when it's time for him to return to England and she back home?
This was such a fun and light-hearted read. I enjoyed the tension, banter and chemistry between Diana and Griffin. I particularly loved the kids Sophie and Milo. Overall this was a great story that I really enjoyed.
This was a really sweet read. The type of cute rom com that brings a genuine smile to your face. Diane and Griffin have some of the best banter I’ve read in ages and I enjoyed watching Diane’s character grow into herself with support from those around her.
"I will always choose you."

Cinder-Nanny follows Diana, a broke 23-year-old who lies her way into becoming a nanny for a wealthy family living in Aspen for a few months. The reason? To get enough money to pay for her sister's kidney transplant. While in Aspen, Diana unexpectedly meets Griffin, an actual English Earl. The pair are instantly attracted to one another and while Diana tries to remain friends with him, her resolve falters as they spend more and more time together. But will he run away when he learns the truth?
Cinder-Nanny didn't quite capture my attention as much as I'd hoped. Firstly, it was very much a slooooow burn, with Griffin being the shining light. He was infatuated with Diana from the beginning, even as she slowly revealed secret after secret. I appreciated his dedication and love for her, even when she repeatedly said she just wanted to be friends.
I actually really liked all the side characters. Alice was such a fun big sister and they had a strong sisterly bond. Meanwhile, Milo was such a cute and misunderstood kid and I liked how Diana used her skills to teach him things in his own way. But in general, I just didn't feel a strong connection to Diana.
Overall though, if you like your romance with a side of escapism, this modern-day Cinderella retelling might do the trick.
This is such a cute story and I enjoyed every minute of it!
This is the story of Diana who took a high paying nanny job to help pay her sisters medical bills. She must know how to ski and teach math, speak fluent French, excel at social graces, and hold a master’s degree in childhood development. Unfortunately she can'y do any of these but that won't stop her she can manage to lie her way through three months, cant she?
Luckily she meets the gorgeous Earl names Griffin Windsor and her work becomes so much more interesting!
A really fun and enjoyable romantic read, highly recommend!!
The Cinder-Nanny by Sariah Wilson is a super cute story! While it was predictable, I love the way the author tells the story. She has a beautiful writing style that puts you into the middle of the story. Diana is such a relatable character who is trying to find her way, help her sister, and escape her past. Such a cute and innocent story.

This was such a sweet and funny sparkly story! 💞🎉🔥
This updated twist on Cinderella will have you hooked with the great banter between Diana and Griffin, the love she has for Milo, the little guy Diana looks after and has to be the best 5yr old you will ever meet, and the ticking time bomb you are waiting to explode and all the fallout that will come from it.
Despite the elements that one might believe this is going to be a predictable romance, nothing happened as expected. Every time it led up to a moment where the conflict should occur, it didn't turn out as expected. Then when I thought it was going to keep going that direction, it flipped on me.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Sigh. I know a book is good if I want to go back and read it again as soon as I finish it. This one just felt so good around my heart.
Diana is a good human, a struggling human, but a good one. She is so desperate to help her sister that she gets herself into quite a pickle. Lying is a dangerous game. But do you know what I loved most about this whole storyline? All the equally good humans around Diana that treated her so well and accepted her just as she was. Even when all the truth confessions came out, kindness prevailed. It all just felt so, so good. And don't even get me started on Griffin. Seriously. I might never shut up if I get started. I love him. L.O.V.E. Love him.
There were plenty of fun moments in this book, especially when you throw in a couple of pint sized humans, quirky and cute as can be. The characters all showed growth and depth. The whole story- so good. It kept me engaged and happy from start to finish. I always love this author and her books so this comes as no surprise to me. What a great day of reading!

Diana will do anything for her sister and that includes taking a job that she is unqualified for so that she sufficient funds to pay for her sister’s medial treatment. She has been hired to be the nanny for a five-year-old and she just hopes that she can fake it until she makes it.
One complication that she hadn’t factored in was meeting Griffin, a charming stranger who also happens to be an Earl. As they spend time together the feelings between them escalate but will they be able to overcome the secrets between them as well as their very different lifestyles.
Diana is a woman who has the best of intentions and will do anything for those she cares about while Griffin knows that she and what they share is special and isn’t about to be deterred. This is a heartwarming romance that has all the aspects of a fairy tale.
You know a romance is good when you're still thinking about the characters days later. Diana, our heroine, bumbles her way through trying to do as much of the right thing as she can as her sister's mounting medical bills pile up and the specter of her imprisoned con of a mother hangs over her head. This leads her to taking a job as nanny to pay those medical bills under false pretenses. Enter hot British Earl Griffin Windsor.
Or romantic leads are each utterly charming in their own ways, and the two children ever present in their lives are a bundle of laughs. It is not often that I want a sequel to a book like this, but this is me making grabby hands for more. SO SO Good.

Cinder-Nanny is a contemporary romance/romantic comedy. It is a bit of a modern Cinderella retelling.
The narrator is 23 year old Diana (1st person POV). She gets the opportunity to go to Aspen to be a nanny for a very wealthy couple.
I loved this premise! I loved seeing Diana in this world of money. I loved her relationship with her sister Alice. I adored Milo and Sophie! And the romance was amazing!
This was such a cute, charming and enjoyable read! One of my favorite romances of 2022!

This book has, oddly enough, been very difficult for me to rate.
Was this book amusing? Yes.
Was the banter really well done? Absolutely.
Would I recommend this to others? Probably.
Did I like it? I think so.
The relationship between Diana and Griffin was honestly adorable & absolutely amazing to read. They had great chemistry, excellent banter, and the scenes where their faces were getting a littttttle too close were so good. BUT, if you follow my reviews, you know I"m not a fan of insta-love. And, while I think this relationship developed over a couple of months (following time was one of my difficulties with this book), the "I love you" still felt a little quick.
All of the conflicts in this book were wrapped up a little too nicely for my liking. Diana tricks & lies her way into a job she is under qualified for (even though she does the job REALLY, REALLY well) - and yet she has not repercussions from this. Everything works out with a cute little bow on top. Even her relationship with Griffin all comes to a clean conclusion.
But, let's be honest, the children in this book steal the show: Milo (the little boy who thinks he has every disease known to man) & Sophie (who knows every way the world may end). They were an absolute DELIGHT.
I would recommend this book if you like a quick, whirlwind romance kind of book. IT is cute, & the banter is solid - it just wasn't necessarily my cup of tea.
Sariah is the quintessential rom-com author and reliably enjoyable for me to read. Whenever I need some humor and fluff, I need to look no further, with Cinder-Nanny as no exception.
'Diana struggles financially but has left her childhood behind, promising her sister and herself that she would never follow her con-artist mother's way of life. But life sucks and her sister's health has to come first. An opportunity to make just what they need for the operation has Diana pursuing one con she has to pull off. She applies to be a nanny without the required education, language, and experience needed. Running into Griffin, a man vastly unattainable.
I laughed frequently, especially the first half. Milo and Sophie are equally adorably hilarious. Diana's romantic feelings were repetitively redundant, but otherwise, I enjoyed the story. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop somewhere. Griffin is far too good to be true and such a lovable cinnamon roll.
Thank you to Montlake and NetGalley for the advanced copy. All thoughts in this review are my own.
Cinder-Nanny by Sariah Wilson was such a fun, cute take on Cinderella. It twisted pieces of the classic fairytale in fresh ways. Wilson’s humor shone through the story in the form of clever one-liners and great narration. I loved the characters in this story. Diana has a heavy past, but she’s a loyal friend, even if she has a tendency to run. I loved experiencing the novel through her eyes and watching her help Milo. Griffin was fantastic and definitely too good to be true, but I’m more than happy to add him to my book boyfriend list. Despite two wonderful romantic leads, my favorite characters were younger than five with some morbid fascinations. Milo and Sophie were easily my favorite part of this book. They’re such cute and quirky kids that I absolutely adored. Overall, I enjoyed this book and found it to be a great summer read.
*Thank you to Sariah Wilson, Montlake, and Netgalley for an e-arc. All opinions are my own.
An absolute ball! When Diana Parker fibs her way into a nannying job in Aspen, Colorado, she plans to keep her head down and do what she needs to do in order to get paid. But then she meets Griffin Windsor, the Earl of Strathorne, and he patiently gets her to open up and tell him all her secrets. Griffin is honestly too good to be true. He is charming, handsome, selfless, kind, patient, and rich. Hands down, my favorite characters in this.book are Milo, the little boy Diana nannies, and Sophie, Griffin's niece. They are a breath of fresh air and actually written like kids their age should act. Full of hilarious moments, this sweet romance is a fun summer read!
Thank you to NetGalley for my e-arc of this book. All opinions here are my own.
With her sister needing money for a kidney transplant, Diana needs to go to extreme measures to help. She is hired on as a temporary nanny where she meets none of the requirements. This short job will provide all the money needed for the transplant but Diana will have to lie to keep it, and she hates lying.
While working as a nanny, she meets the Earl of Strathorne, Griffin Windsor and is instantly attracted to him. However, she is not running in her own circles and is a bit out of her league. He is definitely interested but she doesn't feel like they have a shot because of where she came from.
Opinion
This is a great twist on a modern day Cinderella. You can definitely see the similarities to the original with the updates for modern times. There are a few twists, such as Sophie and MIlo that weren't there the first go round. This book will appeal to young adults as well as adult romance readers. The romance is sweet and consuming.
Many thanks to Net Galley and Montlake for providing me with an ARC of this book.
I don’t think I’ve read many Cinderella retelling stories until now and was looking forward to this romance.
I am not a big fan of a slow burn and unfortunately that’s how this story was overall. I liked Diana , even if her ways of doing things are questionable at times although within good reason, like lying about her qualifications to be a nanny so she can get the money to help her ailing sister.
Of course she will end up with the Prince aka Griffin, the most sought out bachelor. Their romance is sweet and quite cheesy I would say at times.
Very grateful to the publisher for my review copy
Cinder-nanny is an enchanting, modern re-take on a classic fairytale.
Diana Park is determined to be the complete opposite of her con-artist mother. However, when her sister finds out that she needs a large amount of money for a life-saving operation, Diana severely exaggerates her qualifications in order to secure a well paid job as a nanny in Aspen. It's here that she meets a British Earle and there begins our fairytale re-imagined.
This book is filled with laugh out loud moments, love, witty banter and a happily ever after. A lovely feel good read with a satisfying end.
Nanny stories always get me & this was no different. This was such a good story & I look forward to more from this author! Thanks for the early copy!
A fun and entertaining retelling of the classic fairy-tale, Cinderella.
Diana Parker applies and gets hired as a nanny for a wealthy family living in Colorado, despite not having any of the required qualifications and experience for the temporary job. Not, that it is a problem for her, as she is used to ad-libbing her way through life. Besides, she needs the money to help pay for her sister’s medical expenses. When she arrives in Aspen, she bumps into Griffin, a tall and handsome British Earl…
This is a delightful and sweet romance set against a stunning backdrop. Both protagonists are likeable, relatable, and endearing. I found the characters, Milo and Sophie a bit too precocious, but otherwise their parts blended in well within the narrative, and are funny.
There is a serious side, as we learn and understand the backgrounds both Diana and Griffin come from. For Diana, it makes for some uncomfortable reading; however, there is no doubt about why she acts the way she does. Her heart is in the right place, and her actions, albeit fake, are for a noble cause.
As with any good tale, there are twists and turns, but ultimately it all leads to a happy and satisfying ending.
