When I think of cozy mysteries, I think of books just like this one, that gives all the feels, thrills and can satisfies just about every reader's heart. This is a perfect books to snuggle up with on any day.
The wedding of the year is taking place in Magic Springs, blending a shifter family with a witch family. Mia has taken on the job of wedding planner at the last minute when the previous planner is fired. But can Mia and Christina manage to make this seemingly doomed wedding actually take place?
This is a great series and I love the witchiness blended with the wonderful characters. Can’t wait for # 4.
I have read all of the books in this series and am a huge fan. The characters are well developed and the relationships between them keeps you invested in the story. The murder mystery has you guessing until the very end. My one complaint is that I have no idea what the title of the book has to do with the storyline. Lynn Cahoon continues to keep me entertained with this series and I can’t wait for the next book to be published.
Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Publishing for my advanced review copy. All opinions and thoughts are my own.
I got a finished copy as a part of Goodreads Giveaways (and now from NetGalley). I enjoy this series so much and book three was a vast improvement on book two. I can’t wait to read more adventures in Magic Springs and to see what the gang at Mia’s Morsels gets into. And to see what other secrets the school, the town, and the coven have to share.
Only small quibbles: the cover and title don’t match the content. The only mention of tea was at the very end where it set up for the next story and the wedding taking place in this book was indoors and in the spring so this outdoor autumnal look is totally incorrect. But again, tiny notes that have nothing to do with the actual book, which was lovely.
Mia Malone's catering business is starting to take off. She is asked to take over as the wedding planner for a feuding magical family, Mia accepts thinking that this might be a way that she could expand her business if it goes well. However, the fired planner is found murdered and Mia doesn't know if it was personal reasons or if someone is trying to stop the wedding and she might be in danger. She and her support family set to work to keep the nuptials in place and find out who and what is really behind the murder.
I really enjoy this new series by one of my favorite authors. The touch of magic is not just in the characters but also in the writing.
Of course there's going to be trouble when the wonderful children of a family of witches and a family of werewolves marry but it's happening in Magic Springs and Mia is there. Chelsea, who was supposed to be planning the wedding of Amethyst and Tok, was fired and Mia has been hired to finish the job. Except that now Chelsea's been murdered! And Mia is, of course, a suspect! Along with her love interest Trent, Christina, Levi, and Grans, she investigates to find the real villain. This being a cozy, there's more than one suspect but the paranormal aspect of this adds to the mystery. It's fun read that never gets too woo woo. Oh and the cat! Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. Fine as a standalone and fans of the series will be pleased.
This is the best one of the bunch of these (so far...) and by far the heaviest on fantasy and magic.
Mia Malone is doing quite well with her catering business, Mia's Morsels. When her assistant, Christina gets roped into standing in for an absent bridesmaid at the wedding of the season in Magic Springs, Idaho, Mia is intrigued, especially when she becomes the new wedding planner. The wedding is between a member of the local witch coven and a shape-shifter, the magical equivalent of the Hatfields and McCoys, and Mia is caught in the middle. However, she is determined to grow her business and get this wedding done and done right, except someone is trying to sabotage things, and then the original wedding planner ends up dead. Mia is wondering if she is next.
I love these characters in this series and the way the reader feels like they are part of the story rather than just a spectator. I felt like I was sitting on Mia's shoulder as she is going through the wedding plans and I felt her stress. I liked the emphasis on the magical community as it shows up some in the other books but this one was front and center.
I do hope there will be many more novellas and cozies in this group. They are such a delight to read but I read them so quickly!
Thank you NetGalley and Kensington Publishing Corp. for a copy of "Three Tainted Teas" in exchange for my honest review.
This is book 3 in the 'Kitchen Witch Mysteries". Mia Malone is asked to step in as wedding planner at the wedding between Amethyst Uzzi and Tok McMann - a witch and a shifter. Someone doesn't want to wedding to happen so they have killed off the wedding planner, canceled contracts and caused general mayhem.
Favourite characters from previous books Trent and Levi Majors, Christina Adams and Grans are back. As are Mr. Darcy and his resident spirit Dorian. In this book we get to learn more about Trent and Levi's mother who it appears will have a larger role in coming books.
I adore this fun new series by long time cozy author Lynn Cahoon.
I have read the previous two in series and enjoy this charming paranormal series. Thank you to the publisher and to Net Galley for the opportunity. My review opinion is my own.
In this next in series our favorite protagnist Mia is making a go of her new catering business . She is living and working out of a old schoolhouse which the author makes so charming. Mia is asked to step in as a wedding planner for a opulent wedding between two warring families. One family is werewolves and one are witches. The two families have never been friendly. Mia finds herself right in the middle of a lot of arguments and soon is involved in a murder. With her savvy smart ways Mia investigates while trying to pull the wedding off with no experience as a wedding planner.
This was the prefect next in series introducing new charcters for future books. I loved the antics of the wedding and the way the author wove such a well crafted sleuth. I look forward to the next in series.
I received a copy of Three Tainted Teas through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
Three Tainted Teas by Lynn Cahoon is the third full mystery in the Kitchen Witch Mysteries series. In this cozy mystery, owner of Mia’s Morsels and local kitchen witch, Mia Malone, is tossed into the middle of planning and catering her companies very first wedding, a wedding between a witch and wolf shape shifter. When the previous wedding planner turns up dead, Mia’s situation becomes more dangerous and she is forced to investigate the death while trying to get this wedding off without a hitch.
I have enjoyed every installation in this series, but I do have to say that Three Tainted Teas is my favorite so far. I really enjoyed seeing Mia and company in the midsts of planning the tricky wedding and learning more about the town of Magic Springs and the people in it. I enjoy the characters in this series and find the mysteries to be refreshing and never boring. I really enjoyed the mystery and would recommend this book and series to anyone who enjoys cozy mysteries with a touch of magic!
If you enjoy paranormal cozy mysteries you should read this series. Mia is hired as a wedding planner for a couple whose family have been feuding for decades. Mia decides to take the job in hopes this will help expand her food service business. Mia begin to wonder if she bitten off more than she handle with the family members interfering with the wedding plans and the murder of the wedding planner she was hired to replace.
This is a fun culinary paranormal cozy. The characters are entertaining and well developed. The mystery is full of twists and turns and has a large suspect pool. I never suspected who the killer was.
All thoughts and opinions are my own, and in no way have I been influenced by anyone
Three Tainted Teas brings us back to Magic Springs where Mia, a kitchen witch is expanding her catering business into wedding planning. She takes on this new role after the wedding planner for a very high stakes wedding is fired and then found murdered. The wedding is between a local witch and her werewolf fiance, two magical groups that don't normally wed. Both kids come from very prominent families who have very high expectations for Mia.
Throughout the wedding prep, Mia must face sabotage and even attempts on her life. Someone really doesn't want the event to go forward. She must work with the police to find out who is behind the murder and the mayhem.
If you like magic in your cozy mysteries, this is a great series to read. I like that Cahoon goes all in & makes it very magical & not overly secretive & hush hush. This time around, Mia’s catering business is brought in last minute to cater a magical wedding. This might be my favourite of the three books so far, I feel more familiar with the characters. I find the politics of their town interesting. The writing is rich & charming & envelopes you in the perfect way a cozy series should! This is definitely one of the strongest series I’ve read that have magic in it. It’s done in a calm, realistic way that feels plausible. I’m looking forward to future books!
ARC Kindle Copy from Review from Net Galley and Kensington Books.
I received a free, advance copy of this book and this is my unbiased and voluntary review.
It’s a bad sign when you find the previous wedding planner dead on arrival. What was supposed to be a pick up notes turned criminal; especially, when you find that the ex wedding planner was hired to disrupt the wedding.
The happy couple finds themselves in the middle of a feud as their families are not happy of their upcoming nuptials. Our wedding planner is a main suspect but she soon will become a target if she cannot find the killer.
It is another charming addition in the series that mixes food and witches.
In Three Tainted Teas by Lynn Cahoon, the third book in her Kitchen Witch Mysteries series, kitchen witch Mia Malone gets asked, last minute, to replace a murdered wedding planner. Someone doesn't want Amethyst from a witch family to marry Tok, a wolf shifter. Mia, Trent, Christina, Levi and Gran have their work cut out for them to save the wedding and find the guilty party.I love these characters and all the magic in these stories. This whodunit is a great addition to the series.
Three Tainted Teas is the 3rd book in the Kitchen Witch Mystery series by Lynn Cahoon.
I absolutely LOVE this series.
The setting of the story takes place in the small town of Magic Springs.
I love Mia the main character who owns and runs a catering company called Mia's Morsels.
In this story, Cassandra Uzzi asks Mia to take on the last-minute task as a wedding planner for her daughter's wedding. It seems as if the previous wedding planner was let go at the last minute, not mysterious at all!
Mia has never been a wedding planner but thinks this will help promote and possibly expand her business. The wedding is at The Lodge, which is a familiar establishment in previous books.
The characters are well written, complex and unique.
There is a murder mystery to solve , and Mia and her friends are on the case.
The mystery was perfectly plotted with twists that kept me guessing until the very end.
I highly recommend this book and the entire Kitchen Witch Series!!!
Through NetGalley, I received a free copy of THREE TAINTED TEAS (Book 3 of the Kitchen Witch Mysteries), by Lynn Cahoon, in exchange for an honest review. Mia Malone is given an offer she can’t refuse. Mia is now the last-minute replacement wedding planner for the nuptials joining two influential supernatural families who’ve been at odds for generations. There seems to be almost as many people who want to stop the wedding as there are who want it to go forward. Fending off vicious pranks is one thing, but the murder of the previous wedding planner brings Mia’s job as wedding planner to a whole new level. Mia must insure the success of the union even if she has to identify the murderer to get to the I do’s.
I liked this book. I recommend it to fans of paranormal cozy murder mysteries featuring food, catering, and wedding planning.
#ThreeTaintedTeas #NetGalley.
Mia gets a chance to try her hand at being a wedding planner! Unfortunately it is for 2 magic families that seems to each want their own way, and someone really doesn't want this wedding to go ahead at all!
I love this series and watching the characters change and the story grow has been wonderful. I have enjoyed every visit to Magic Springs and hope to keep coming back again and again.
If you haven't read any books in this series I would recommend starting from the beginning, each story adds to the enjoyment of the next.
I would like to thank Netgalley, Lynn Cahoon and Kensington Books for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Mia is a very likable character who always finds herself mixed up in a murder investigation. Her cat just wants to be normal, but a spell gone wrong still has a person trapped in his body.
There are several laugh out loud moments in Three Tainted Teas.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for selecting me to read an advanced copy of this book.
Mia Malone is back in Lynn Cahoon’s newest Kitchen Witch novel, Three Tainted Teas. This is a great cozy; perfect for passing an afternoon and I enjoyed it very much. Mia takes on a new endeavor as she steps in as a last minute replacement for recently dismissed wedding planner. The “mixed marriage” between a witch and a shape shifter has many magical locals upset, and someone does not want the wedding to happen. This individual will stop at nothing, including murder, to achieve their goal. Much goes on and it’s not easy to discern who is behind all the malevolent deeds nor why. I appreciated the camaraderie between Mia and her cohorts as they worked to bring off this fantastical wedding while keeping everyone safe. It was fun to get to know the likable and down-to-earth Abigail, mother of Mia’s boyfriend, Trent. With each addition to the series, the characters’ relationships deepen and their bonds become tighter. Another positive is the small town setting where many of the inhabitants are witches but the sheriff is a total non believer. That said, he is never portrayed as bumbling or stupid—just a mere mortal who cannot phantom that there is such magic in his town.
I highly recommend this book. It is a light, quick-reading mystery while not being too simple. I was given a copy of this book by NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review I was not required to write a favorable review and the opinions stated are solely my own. A very solid four stars.
