Not all books require you to read the earlier books in the series but this is one. The explanation of certain things doesn't give you nearly enough context to fully enjoy the book. I can tell it is well written and within that world very well done but not having read the others left me confused and more like an outsider. For fans I'm sure this is a great read (hence two stars). For me, if fell flat.
I really love the Embraced series and am so glad the author decided to write about the adventures and hea’s of the next generation. Isolated and over-protected heroine embarks on a mission with the hero who has loved her from afar for 6 years. Lots of action and the secondary characters were just as compelling as the main H & h. You could start with this book but but you really don’t want to miss out on the parent’s books. Loved it and can’t wait to read more!
Really enjoy the uniqueness of the Embrace series. While books can be read as standalone, they are better enjoyed together.
This book is about Eviana, who is the daughter of Leo and Luciana (How to Tame a Beast in Seven Days). Eviana's gift has been 'protected' (kept secret by her family), but at what cost to Eviana? And Quentin has been in love with her for six years. What chance does a spy have with a princess?
this was a sweet story. I have to say some of my favorite parts circle around Lady Olana's gift. This book has multiple HEAs, which is heartwarming.
My only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 - I felt that some of the inner feelings of the main characters sometimes felt younger than their actual ages. other than that, really enjoyed the story.
I am thrilled that we are getting more books in this world. This time, led by the second generation of Embraced Royals! I was so heartbroken after The Siren and The Deep Blue Sea, thinking the series was over. It's not! And once again, here I am, rooting for all these new characters.
We also get to see a foreshadowing of future couples hinting to even more sequels!
What I love most about the Embraced series is how different one book is from the others. It is not the same story, again and again, just changing the couple. And, we'll probably get some enemies to lovers soon! Which is one of my favourite tropes.
When a Princess Proposes was heartwarming, exciting and funny. I thought Brody couldn't be surpassed, but Quentin... he was incredibly sweet and caring. And obstinate. The perfect mix.
A fierce princess with a dangerous magical gift and an eagle shifter must embark on an epic journey to discover who exactly is stalking and killing the Embraced. But even in disguise, there’s no hiding their desire for each other…
This is the second generation kids in the series. It's okay if you haven't read the earlier books but you will miss a lot of the nuances in the book. Great characters as usual... :) Lots of sweet and warm moments. It's a fun and fast moving book. Totally enjoyed it.
Thanks to the publisher for the ARC.
Enjoyed this series a lot, and now we are getting into the children of the original series. Princess Eviana and eagle shifter Quentin are the main romance here. Good story, and enjoyable to read about the characters I remember now 20 years into the future. Hope to see a book with the Raven in the future. Would recommend this book, author and series.
Omg! The second generation of the Embraced children are here! I have loved this series from the beginning and now to read Leo's and Luciana's daughter get her HEA is absolutely amazing! Once I started this book I could not put it down, and I've got the dark circles under my eyes to prove it. But it was all worth it. This story gave me all the feels. And there are some new secondary characters introduced that I would love to see them have their own story as well. Seriously. If you want an adventure filled story filled with courage and love and some heart warming moments, you need to read When a Princess Proposes. After reading this story it's got me in the mood to reread How to Tame a Beast in Seven Days, just so I can relive Leo and Luciana's love story again. I really think this is my favorite series by Kerrelyn Sparks. I'm still happy sighing because I'm so in love with this story.
*I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book*
