This is probably my favorite book in this series, as once I started reading it, I found it difficult to put down. It is a stand alone novel, but reading the other books in the series would give more insight into the town and some of the characters. It is fast moving, with a new complication or twist pulling the reader into the story, one short chapter after another.
The characters are quite a variety—old, young and in-between—fun, likable, interesting and sometimes irascible. The novel starts out introducing them in individual stories but quickly weaves them together into a story filled with humor, love, complicated family dynamics and intrigue, I enjoyed the further development of an early character—Pecos—nice to meet the grown man.
The relationship between McCoy and his grandfather and then McCoy’s father, is wonderfully written, and I enjoyed the little fairy and her part in the story and relationship with them all. The relationship between Jam and Tucson left me less satisfied. What is most important to them? I felt it kind of left the reader hanging. I do hope the next book can incorporate Mr. Winston and a conclusion to his excellent ability to remember details, as it is mentioned in an intriguing way but then not brought up again,
The title is a bit confusing, as the Sunflower Inn is a dream and not yet in existence. I received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review, Very simply, I thoroughly enjoyed the book and highly recommend it to readers.

Sunday at the Sunflower Inn by Jodi Thomas A Honey Creek book revolving around four couples with the Sunflower Inn Cafe as a central meeting place. All of the stories in the book work so well together to represent the town and people of Honey Creek. The couples are Melanie and Mike, Tucson and Jam, Mr. Winston and Lilly, and McCoy and Baylor and how their lives intersect. McCoy's relationship with his grandfather and their conversations were beautifully written and were for me the highlights of the book. Their history and family dynamics could have been a stand alone story. Mr. Winston and Lily's romance was heartwarming and sweet. Melanie and Mike were young but wise beyond their years and thoroughly committed to each other. Tucson and Jam were hard to relate to. They seemed more into their jobs and individual lives than being a couple. Their together moments seemed to be repetitive.

After getting involved in an accident where he narrowly escaped with a broken leg, McCoy Mason lost his job at a construction company, his lease to his new apartment, and his fiancée Breanna Bell.

Now he has no future, no love life, no job, and no relatives except his grandfather Sadler Mason who lives in Honey Creek, whom McCoy’s father had mentioned a few times in passing.

Jessica Ann Mackenzie, “Jam” runs her cafe called The Honey Creek Café. She also plans to renovate her family’s farmhouse, Sunflower Lane. She’s made quite a success with her business though she thinks something is missing and that’s her love life.

Along comes Sergeant Tucson Smith, who has no time left for anything but work. Jessica wants a real bond that might develop into love if time allowes, and for some reason, she’d picks Tucson..
But Tucson is heading back to Fort Hood with his team in a few days.

Pecos Smith, Tucson’s younger brother has just been appointed sheriff when he comes across an envelope on his desk containing photos of a dead body. Puzzled and not knowing who to trust, he calls his brother.

Upon hearing the news, LeRoy Hayes the former sheriff informs Tucson that he’d called Commander Thompson Tucson’s boss and asked if Tucson could be assigned to the case since the victim was obviously in the service. This means Tucson will have to stay back in Honey Creek until the case is solved.

Meet Melody Avendale, a young girl who ran away from home to meet her lover Michael in Honey Creek. She went to the dock where she was supposed to meet him but he wasn’t there. While trying to give him the signal she falls in the water and is rescued by Sergeant Tucson who then carries her to Honey Creek Café.

An intricately woven story about four couples and how their lives intersect sometimes at the Honey Creek Café. The relationship between McCoy and his grandfather was beautifully written, I especially liked reading the dialogue from conversations he has with him.

Jodi Thomas writes stories that always rights stories that get you right in all the feels. This book tells four intertwined stories about couples all at different stages in their lives - in the very small town of Honey Creek Texas.

The storyline I liked the most of all - was the one involving McCoy Mason and his grandfather. McCoy is a successful contractor - who just lost his job, his fiancé, and pretty much everything he has in the space a few weeks after a bad accident that almost killed him. When he decides to try his luck with the grandfather he's never met - he lands in Honey Creek. I loved the relationship between McCoy and his grandfather - and the town. I think his feelings experiences were extremely relatable. He really needed a hand-up and some people to care about him - and the town and his grandfather really came through.

All the stories being told in the book work so well together and wove into something I truly enjoyed. I also think you can 100% listen to Jason Aldean's Small Town Small song - and see the town and people of Honey Creek represented.

Overall - I liked it and this is definitely the feel-good book you need to lift your spirits right now!

This is the fourth book here we find Jessica in the small quaint town of Honey Creek, Texas. It's spring and love is in the air.

An accident brings McCoy into town to recover and you know what happens next. You love romance, then you must read Sunday at the Sunflower Inn.

I enjoyed this book. I loved how it talked about different characters. I can't wait to read the next book. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
