This was so cute. It had the same vibe as Ookami Shoujo to Kuro Ouji. The characters were hilarious. I loved the Ellie and Sara's friendship. They were both total weirdos and every time they interacted, I died laughing.
PUHLEASE IM IN LOVE WITH THIS ONE ITS SO CUTE LIKE I CANT!!!!
The story follows the life of Ellie, a high school student who finds herself navigating the challenges of adolescence while dealing with her own insecurities and self-doubt. Ellie's character is portrayed with remarkable depth, making her a highly relatable and endearing protagonist. Her journey of self-discovery and personal growth serves as the heart of the story, and readers will find themselves rooting for her as she grapples with the complexities of teenage emotions.
Lowkey, Ellie is the cutest female MC ever and I liked that she isn't like our usual portrayal of a female MC. ALSO IM SO IN LOVE WITH THE DRAWING AND ARTSTYLE! Its definitely up my alley :')
I can't wait to read the second volume for real. This makes such a good heartwarming read.

I adored Lovesick Ellie, Vol. 1 , although isn't quite what I expected, I enjoyed it just as much anyway, it’s a manga that doesn’t take itself too seriously and it’s so interesting and funny. Eriko is charmingand Omi-kun is great too but takes a little longer to warm to him, but I loved their interactions. Fantastic series opener can’t wait for more
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Unfortunately, this book wasn't for me. The plot and characters didn't keep me interested. I really wanted to like the book but just couldn't get into it.
Thank you to Kodansha Comics for providing me with an e-ARC of Lovesick Ellie, Vol. 1 in exchange for an honest review!
I don't know, I just want some cute manga in my life & that I want to devour in one-sitting and this just wasn't it. It's fine, but it wasn't AMAZING. & I really didn't care much for the love-interest at all.
Apparently, I've been on a bit of a romance binge with manga, and I'm okay with that. Next on my list is Lovesick Ellie, Vol. 1. It's one part romance and one part comedy, making it the perfect balance, as far as I'm concerned.
Nearly everyone has a high school crush that they look back on and feel a little embarrassed about – mostly because of how we behaved. Eriko Ichimura is the latest to join these ranks. She has a major crush on Akira Ohmi (aka Omi-kun), but rather than approach him; she quietly stays on the sidelines.
Or, more accurately, she runs a Twitter account dedicated to her daydreams and fantasy interactions between her and Omi-kun. Her username is Lovesick Ellie, and it was all fine until a series of unfortunate events led to Omi-kun finding her account – and discovering how she feels about him.
Okay, I'll admit it, I'm charmed. Lovesick Ellie, Vol. 1 isn't quite what I expected, but boy, did it have fun with the premise. This is a series that knows better than to take itself too seriously. Yet it doesn't make the fatal mistake of diving into the realm of goofy. It toes the line, creating something both interesting and funny.
It helps that Eriko is an extremely charming character. From the start, it's easy to sympathize with her, making readers willing to root for her. Omi-kun takes a little longer to open up, but that's to be expected in this story of the tale. Once he does, it's like we're reading about a new character, and I loved their interactions.
Long story short, Lovesick Ellie, Vol. 1 was a lot of fun to read. I'll probably pick up the next in this series, as I'm curious to see where it goes.
Lovesick Ellie follows the typical shoujo style of an invisible girl and popular boy who crosses paths and falls in love. Despite being cliche I didn’t think this was cringey at all! It was adorable, entertaining, and fun! Can’t wait to read the rest of the series!
2/5 Stars, not for me.
This book definitely wasn't for me and I couldn't get all the way through it even though it is a short manga. I usually like Kodansha books and I probably would like this better if I could bare to finish it but it's been months now so I am officially done with it.
Disclaimer: I received an arc for this in exchange for my review.
Firstly, I would like to thank Netgalley for providing me with an e-arc of the book. This review is based on my personal opinion and enjoyment of the book.
Lovesick Ellie is a manga that hides a very soft love story, in which the main characters have a hard time showing their true feelings out of embarrassment.
Eriko has always been a lonely girl, she goes unnoticed, so she hasn't had any friends. That's why she spends her days fantasizing about the most popular boy in school, Ohmi, and writing those fantasies in the form of a story on Twitter. One day, Erin overhears a conversation and discovers Ohmi's true character, while he discovers Erin's Twitter fantasies, which leads them in a very comical way to start a friendship, which over time grows into something more.
The first thing that caught my attention in this manga was Fujimomo's drawing style, I definitely love it. And the story, in addition to the romance, has some very funny overtones that made me laugh out loud throughout the volume. Both Eriko and Ohmi seem very interesting characters to me and I'm looking forward to seeing how they evolve, as characters and as a couple. In addition, two secondary characters have appeared that will give a lot to talk about.
I recommend it if you like romances with touches of humor.
Thank you to NetGalley and Kodansha for this ARC
A really beautiful Shoujo, with the classic troupe of unpopular girl meets popular boy. Love how the relationship needs to build up. Throw in some hilarious SM and you have a great volume. looking forward to vol 2
This is a cute manga. It reads like a shojo manga, just like most, but with the added bit of being a bit more human. There are times in which people can't or aren't comfortable fully sharing their feelings and this is one of those manga that start it. I feel like it moves very fast, but I'm wondering if the author has a more in depth reason for this. The idea of jealousy is also visited but it is not drawn out or anything.
If a library does buy it, I can see it going into the adult graphic novels than the teen or children's only because the tweets that the main character sends out. Nothing too big, just the tweets can be a bit suggestive at times. Other than that, I can't wait to read the second one in the series.
4.25 stars.
Its the usual classic troupe of invisible girl and popular boy but this was so cute and humour was really good! The artstyle is amazing and thankfully the relationship wasn't instantaneous. The best thing out of this book is Sara (side character) and the hilarious cringey twitter account 💀

I’m not new to manga nor shoujo mangas so obviously when i saw Lovesick Ellie available for request, I was intrigued. I just love mangas in general & romances are the ones I turn to when I need some kind of therapy lmao!
Ellie was such a fun comical girl. I do relate to her with the way that she has those wild fantasies & scenarios with a love interest (who only exist in her fantasy world). I love that she tweets about it too😂 Until the day, she starts to talk to this popular guy at school & he discovers her twitter account. Obviously, he’ll keep his mouth shut & Ellie starts to interact more with him. We see them open up along the way and they both realize how lonely they are which is why they easily seek one another. They feel like they’re actually being for who they are and I hope we will go further into this in the next volume.
I also enjoyed seeing Ellie go out there and make a new friend. She definitely needed a (girl) friend to talk to & enjoy her teens life with. I’m very excited to see more her friendship. I also found the banter & interactions quite comical. It do get very stereotypical but in a funny way.
It’s only getting 3 stars though because this is so similar to any other shoujo manga that i’ve read. It’s not a bad thing, it just didn’t have anything special to it!
I’m definitely reading the next volume soon🖤
Okay, this was adorable! I love a good shojo because I can always use a sweet, silly, light-hearted reason to giggle. :) This took me a chapter or two to really get into, but once I was in, that was it—and now I’m sitting here anxiously awaiting getting my hands on volume 2. Ohmi is a bit of a jerk, but I’m a total sucker for bad boys who secretly have a heart of gold. Ellie is quirky and relatable and funny. I actually can’t wait to see where the story takes these two. On a side note, I also really, really love the friendship between Ellie & Sara. It’s not always easy for a weirdo to make friends, but finding a fellow weirdo is always so uplifting! I’m also obsessed with this art—it is so gorgeous and expressive. All in all, I had a really enjoyable time swooning over this, and I can’t wait to go pick up volume 2!

*More like 3.5 stars than 3.*
A surprising manga that made my head spin every couple of pages. It moved at such an insane speed that I got whiplash reading it and the characters had so many layers they resembled onions more than they did high schoolers.
Whilst this vol mostly was enjoyable in a shocking way, it also presented itself as sort of problematic with some scenes that were either uncomfortable or very embarrassing. I'm intrigued to see where it goes next but it's more than likely it'll only get more problematic...
Lovesick Ellie (Volume 1) is a very cute and easy shojo manga to read. I think anyone who enjoys Kimi Ni Todoke or Wotakoi would enjoy giving this manga a chance! Just as most manga it is very easy to read, but the story Lovesick Ellie gives makes each page enjoyable and unforgettable. It is equally funny and cute to read. Thanks to Netgalley for an ARC of this manga!

Thanks to NetGalley and KODANSHA Comics for the digital copy of this story in exchange of honest review.
A quick, easy and cute read that I read in one sitting, loved the graphics, the characters and the story. A really good read.
Eriko is a nobody at school, often slipping into the background, forgotten by her classmates. Though friendless in person, she has her followers eating out of the palms of her hands on her Twitter account Lovesick Ellie. There she shares the saucy fantasies she imagines between herself and the school heartthrob Ohmi. Except she soon finds out Ohmi is not at all what he's cracked up to be and somehow... she might like that? Shenanigans ensue and feelings arise as to be expected!
This was cute! Eriko is a fun protagonist when she isn't too down on herself for being "plain". Not gonna lie though her new friend Sara may have stole the show for me, hoping we get even more of her as the series progresses.
