Ellie keeps to herself and spends her time posting fun little romance daydream scenarios to twitter. She doesn't really have any friends and for some reason no one really notices her. Until her crush does for some reason. She gets embarrassed and runs away but forgets her phone and he sees her daydream posts on her twitter. Turns out he thinks they're really funny. He has a very two sided personality though. He's bright and shiny in front of all of their classmates and is cranky in front of Ellie but also a little childish. Ellie is constantly embarrassed and jealous off all the attention her crush constantly gets. This title was really cute. I didn't like the constant use of the term pervert due to it's negative connotation but I grew to understand what they meant.

Ellie is lovesick for this one guy at school and she has a Twitter where she posts her little fantasies. She never claims this is real even on Twitter.

Then somehow she finds out object of her affections isn’t as perfect as she thought. He’s actually kinda mean and rude and hates all the attention these girls give him. She became a kind of friends with him and they just awkward together and it’s so cute. I love it. Maybe popular guy and bullied girl has been done before but honestly it hits every time because who wasn’t bullied and just wanted someone they liked to like them too?

It helps that the art is adorable and I love that our LI isn’t super smooth, he’s actually just as shy as she is but hides it well.

Lovesick Ellie was an adorable first volume to a manga I will be continuing. We follow Ellie who has a secret Twitter account (Lovesick__ellie) which is her writing anonymously romantic scenarios about the boy she has a crush on. The boy she has a crush on is stereotypically in most shojo manga the most popular boy in school, but however this boy seems nice on the outside to most people but only shows his true personality to Ellie once he discovers her Twitter account. I thought this was a cute and wholesome shojo about two teenagers learning how to express their true feelings. I look forward to reading the next volume!

OK I had no idea what to expect with this manga but I really enjoyed it a lot more than I expected to. The characters are really weird, like they are weirdos and they know it. AND YET, the comedy and ridiculous of it all combined with their weird feelings for each other really do make it funny and interesting to read. This would make a really good anime.

Eriko aka Ellie runs a Twitter account detailing her romantic fantasies centered around the most popular boy at her school, Ohmi. As she gets to know Ohmi, she learns that he isn’t exactly the prince all the girls at school dream him to be. In reality, Ohmi is arrogant, self-centered, and really doesn’t care at all about the girls fawning over him. In spite of him being a jerk, Ellie is still absolutely smitten and better yet, now she is getting to know “the real Ohmi.”

I understand Ohmi’s frustration with girls throwing themselves at him. That honestly, sounds like it would be exhausting, but he’s just really unlikable for me as the reader, and his dialogue raises a lot of red flags in my book. I'm sure this story is setting up a whole narrative arc for us to learn why he is so mean and try to give us "valid" reasons for his behavior, but I just don't care to find out. I also find Ellie’s ride-or-die mentality annoying. If you are into wish-fulfillment narratives and fantasize about narcissists who let you into their secret inner world, then you might enjoy this one. Overall, it’s decidedly not my cup of tea.

Ellie, a typical high school girl who fantasizes to date her crush who is a popular guy named Omi. One day, Ellie gets the courage to talk to Omi and catches Omi in the action of being rude and throwing away love letters from other girls. This behavior shocked Ellie and Ellie ran away but she has forgotten her phone due to running away. As she turns around, Omi handed her the phone and figured out that Ellie was the girl behind the twitter fantasy and that the fantasy was about him. A deal strikes and both Ellie and Omi become friends and possibly becomes more than friends.
Overall I give this a 4 star because it captures the aspect of shoujo romance very well but the plot is generic in terms of school life concept with introvert girl falling in love with popular guy. The romance happened so fast and there were not much of a character development but this may be due to the fact that this is only volume 1. I really loved how Ellie blushes every time Omi tries to reenact the fantasies she would write on her twitter page.

It's a slice of life genre, depicting the new bond taht is forming inbetween an introvert girl, Ellie and the super popular guy, Omi.
Each character have their own set of qualities which are being potraited well in the first volume itself. Ellie being an introvert pours her fantasies into her social media whereas Omi puts up a cheerful and friendly behaviour even hiding up his childish and arrogant attitude.
The first volume did introduced the readers well with the lead characters and their relationship too.

I love me some shojo! I think this was a fun introduction to the story and I found it refreshing that it wasn’t the male character that was wild!

This is somewhat generic, but still rather cute. Ellie posts hot romantic tweets about her fantasy boyfriend. Based on a real boy, when she meets Ohmi, she learns the real man isn't as great as her fantasy. It's even worse when Ohmi learns about her twitter account and starts teasing her at every turn!

Meanwhile, Ellie makes her first friend. She seems genuine, but as a reader, I am still unsure of this friend character and don't quite trust her motives.

A cute high school romance focused around the differences between fantasy and reality. Great for shoujo fans.

I liked this manga and feel like students would want to read the next in the series, but I thought it was a new release, but it's been out since 2015. I'm guessing this is a re-release or release in English.

A manga that looked real cute and I just had a laugh at that the girl was writing pervy tweets... but sadly the guy (tsundere/hot + cold) just didn't work for me.

I just loved Ellie, or Eriko. Her tweets are just the best and I love that they were added to the story. I would SO read a book with a story from Eriko, she has a really nice writing style and her perviness is just perfect. She is definitely not the first girl with pervy thoughts in a manga, but I always love it when there is one. It is just still too much the guys, so I am happy with all the pervy girls. Well, depending on how far they go. Eriko is pretty tame. XD I really don't understand why people find Eriko plain, I found her really cute and adorable. I loved seeing her grow in this first volume. From a wallflower to someone with a friend and a love interest (though he isn't the best to have in my eyes). She speaks up more. Gets more honest. It was great!

Omi (or Ohmi as he also was called in the translation) was horrible. I get that maybe he is that way given how the girls in his school are and what they do to him (I mean, stealing a jersey or just swarming the poor guy) + there is a hint later on that something happened in middle school (come on, it was so obvious given how he reacted to that guy). But I just wanted to punch him in the nuts many times with how he treated Eriko. He went from being quite sweet and understanding to an absolute dick often in the span of mere seconds. And I just wanted to hug Eriko so much, but also shake her a little that she was falling in love with this unhealthy (yes, I would call him that) guy. The guy was just too much for me. Past me would have liked a tsundere guy, but me now, a bit older and more experienced, is just saying FUCK nope to this. Maybe if he really worked on himself that I would recommend a relationship, but for now.. very unsure.

I did like Misaki/Sara, I am still a bit on the fence about her intentions, but for most she was OK. I did think it was a tad weird how she knew Eriko's sizes and that THAT gift fit so well. I know she likes to sew and I have seen the gag around in manga and anime with people like that who can just magically see the sizes, but this was just odd. Also an odd gift to give to someone you barely know. XD

The art was OK and quite cute at times, though I am not sure how I felt about some of Eriko's expressions. What is up with her mouth in some instances?

All in all, I did enjoy parts of this and I like Omi when he is just kind and sweet... but I am not sure if I will read this one on. Maybe when the series is complete and people can tell me if Omi turns out to be a good guy after all.

Keeping their shared secrets between them, Ellie and Ohmi begin a very weird friendship that begins to develop into something further...

Eriko is a fly-on-the-wall loner that doesn’t have any friends but who has an online persona as “Lovesick Ellie” who has quite the following. As this persona, she posts confident and flirty tweets about Omi, who is a handsome, popular, and sweet guy at school. But she comes to learn that Omi has another side to him.

This manga is super cute and definitely gave me Ouran High School Host Club or Kiss Him, Not Me! vibes. I look forward to seeing how this story continues.

Lovely high school romance between a popular guy and a quiet eccentric girl!

Lovesick Ellie # 1 is the book's first volume that introduces us to our main characters. Eriko Ichimura, a wallflower student with a secret Twitter account named Lovesick Ellie, where she posts stories imaginary stories about a secret boyfriend she likened to a popular, charming, handsome classmate, Ohmi. Through an unfortunate event, she realized Ohmi is not as friendly and charming as he pretends to be! He also found out about her secret account! Their first encounter started a series of more interactions and unlikely friendship, which seemed to bloom into something more.

This manga is beautifully illustrated with cute chibi styles as well. It really sets the youthful mood that fits the story. Our main characters are both fun and relatable at times. They can also be rather frustrating. Eriko's Ellie persona is hilarious and a little bit embarrassing too! But overall, our two main characters are so cute together! While the story is a cliché shoujo manga, what sets it apart is the personalities of both Eriko and Ohmi. A solid first volume that hints at more of Ohmi's past.

I am looking forward to more volumes!

Meanwhile, shy and awkward Eriko has also managed to form a friendship, another new development for the introvert. This is a cute story about teenagers' ability to over-analyze, internalize, and misinterpret everything to the point of adorability.

Because Ellie likes this side of Omi - A L O T - And it seems Omi loves little pervy Ellie as much.

Lovesick Ellie is a super cute shojo that follows the life of seventeen-year-old Erinko, also known as Lovesick Ellie on social media. While Erinko is a shy girl who loves her crushes in secret, Ellie is lusty and fantasises openly on Twitter with thirsty tweets. But how could she openly love Akira Ohmi, the most popular boy at school, when every girl loves and idealises him? She is no match compared to her classmates, or at least she doesn't think she is. But it seems that fate has decided otherwise: when Erinko forgets her phone in the teachers room and Ohmi-kun finds it with Ellie's Twitter page open, the two students cross paths in the most comic way.

I loved this shojo! Of course, some might say it is cringe and too predictable, and, to be honest, they wouldn't be wrong. It surely is, I couldn't even argue with that. But I've found it very cute and enjoyable to read. I really found myself in Erinko/Ellie. She made me remember the teenage girl I was, madly 'in love' with her crushes (that were changing literally every month), but who couldn't confess her feelings to at least one of them: one-sided love, when you get us... Yet, Erinko dares some bold moves, and they work! Progressively, she gets closer to Ohmi-kun, who wants to know more about her too. They become friends and discover each other, some parts untold and unknown to the people who put them in the spotlight.

Concerning Akira, I really liked his character too! I think his personality made sense and was interesting, though it wasn't that original (I don't expect much originality in shojos, anyways). I know too little of the other characters to say anything for now, but I continued reading the next mangas and I hope to discover more about them too soon.

What to say about the drawings, except that they were beautiful? I must say that the drawing style is what catch my attention before I chose to read a manga, and this one totally lived up to my expectations! So I would definitely recommend this shojo to every shojo lover out there. It is funny, it will make your heartbeat very fast, and your cheeks will hurt so badly after having smiled when reading the entire shojo.

I love a quirky rom-com manga! I highly recommend for fans of "Kiss Him, Not Me" or "Kimi Ni Todoke."

The dynamic between Ellie and Omi-kun was so fun to read. Very much and grumpy guy a sunshine girl trope :)

Besides the fun chemistry and fast pace, I also really enjoyed how reading this made me feel. If you like manga's that make you squeal out loud, this is the one for you!
