I loved this story. The two main characters were both extremely well done. They had a ton of depth and were each relatable in completely different ways. I also really enjoyed the home renovation aspect of the story. I thought the author did a great job giving just enough detail on that without overdoing it. I really liked watching the sisters relationship develop and the romantic relationships too. This one makes for a really fun beach read.

Obsessed would be an understatement!! Going into this book I thought I would mostly be interested in the romance parts (which I loved obviously, Henry and Noah were literally perfect) BUT what stole my heart with this book was the relationship between Kat and Blake.

Their relationship was so beautiful and to see their growth from the very first page to the last was very rewarding. I experienced so many emotions with this book (I sobbed at the last 5% because of how amazing and bittersweet the story ended).

I can wholeheartedly say that this is one of my favorite women’s fiction novels ever. Please add this book your tbr, it is so worth the read and it is the perfect summer read. 💛

This has been my most anticipated book of the summer and it didn’t disappoint! I loved the campy parent trap feel of the beginning, the sisters animosity towards each other to begin with, and the relationship they formed. Two romances I one book- such fun!

Did you go to camp as a kid? I spent 8 weeks every single summer at sleepaway camp and I loved it. My husband was also a sleepaway camp kid so my kids are sleepaway camp kids too - but they go to Wisconsin (husband is from Chicago - my son goes to the same camp that my husband went to as a kid).

Anyhoo, I have been eagerly awaiting The Beach Trap when I first heard @alibradybooks posting about it. It is a reverse Parent Trap - half sisters realize they are related at sleepaway camp and are forced to be together later in life as they reconnect through a vacation home renovation. Oh, how I loved this book. Setting aside my love for HGTV makeover shows, I just loved the relationship and dynamic between the sisters. Every possible emotion oozed from the pages - anger, love, grief, forgiveness, friendship and perseverance. The romances are swoonworthy and I loved seeing a little snarky and witty behind the scenes in the influencer world. What a perfect summer read.

Read this if you:
•want a perfect summer read
•like dogs
•has seen The Parent Trap
•watches HGTV
•ever went to sleep away summer camp

This book was so cute! A story about two sisters who meet at camp in Minnesota (#represent) who don’t know they’re sisters. I loved having dual POV so we got to see what was going on in each of the sisters heads. In the beginning, I gravitated towards one more than the other. By the end, I was very happy with the character growth of the other sister. That epilogue had me GRINNING. also, Noah 😍

Thank you NetGalley & Berkley pub for the eARC in exchange for an honest review. This is our now!

This is Parent Trap meets HGTV + women's fiction with a good dose of romance. The book felt a little stagnant the at times during the beginning. Once the story really got going the second half flew by for me. I was pleasantly surprised that the romance took a little bit of a front seat in this book considering the genre. Really fun book and a great summer read.

"The point of life is to be alive in the world, to feel every emotion, even the messy and painful ones." In The Beach Trap, Blake and Kat are half sisters who are reunited after their father passes away and leaves them his beach house in Destin, FL. Both women have struggles due to their relationship (or lack there of) with their father and although he wasn't the best guy, leaving them the house jointly was kind of amazing of him. Because their relationship with each other needed healing. ⁣

I loved that this was a sister story, plus each of them found a potential love interest in Destin as well. Add in a dog, a cute child, and the beach location and you have a perfect summer read.

Based on the cover I was expecting a light, summer beach read with a little romance thrown in and I was okay with that. You know, one of those books that's good while you're reading it but so easily forgotten.
What I got was a whole lot more.
Oh my, this book is so heartwarming and full of emotion.
As preteens two girls go to the same summer camp and become best friends,do everything together and promise to stay best friends for life. While at the camp the girls come to realize they have the same father so they're half-sisters. Feeling betrayed, hurt and confused they break off all contact with each other and these feelings have years to fester.
Years later they learn their father has left his beach house to both of them.
Now these two sisters couldn't be more different, one is a star influencer, polished, highly fashionable, always on and ready to take that filtered photo for her adoring fans. The other is down to earth, sensible and ready to get the job done, whatever job that may be.
The stipulation is the girls can not just sell the beach house but how can they possibly get along to make the decisions concerning the fixing up of the beach house when they can't even carry on a normal conversation without screaming at each other?
From one fiasco to the next from guy trouble to fashion mishaps and home improvement flops can the sisters learn how to be civil to each other?
I enjoyed seeing the relationship between the sisters growing and changing.
There is so much family heartache and misunderstanding and blame that finally comes to light.
Through an olive branch being extended and many talks and tears there is light ahead.
Very heartwarming. I'll be reading this one again!

A twist on The Parent Trap! As someone who grew up with the movies, I was excited for the new take on it with a twist, especially since it included beachy vibes as well. Add in a single dad and I'm a goner.

Kat honestly had me wanting to throw my Kindle several times, I'm not sure if I just couldn't warm up to her, or if she reminded me too much of my step-sister (the stubborn, set-in your opinions part.)

Blake was the star of the book for me, and I enjoyed watching her discover a passion she wasn't aware of, as well as learning to open her heart to others after a lifetime of being hurt by those she loves.

As someone who was a secret child of my birth father, I resonated strongly with these characters. Their journey of coming together, being in forced proximity, and learning that the past isn't always what it seems, had me hopeful for a happy ending.

Side note: I loved the epilogue and the preview for the next book sounded SO good as well!

“Outside these four walls, my world is focused on designer labels and fashion trends—but inside, I’m reminded that safety, stability, and unconditional love have so much more value.”

Two best friends are torn apart by a life altering secret, and they only have one summer to set the record straight.

This book is the 𝚞𝚕𝚝𝚒𝚖𝚊𝚝𝚎 beach read. It is so fast paced and fun! There’s sun and sand and boy drama. There are Instagram influencers and money troubles and all of the drama that keeps you flipping those pages. There are also romances, handy men, and fixer uppers. Add this one to your tbr so you have something great to read while the sand sifts between your toes and the sun shines on your face this summer.

I loved this book! Two half sisters inherit a beach house from their father. They both can’t stand each other so when they arrive in Florida to deal with the house resentment and anger ensues. The story is very engaging and it was interesting to see how the plot would play out. The characters are well written and show a lot of growth. This is a well written and entertaining family drama story. The setting is beautiful! A perfect summer read you don’t want to miss.

I'm in the minority, but I didn't love this. It felt very YA to me. Kat especially was AWFUL and I didn't feel like her growth over the course of the novel was genuine. Both romances felt stale & I didn't think there was much chemistry at all. This was a cute story but not my fave of the summer. I seem to be an outlier b/c so many friends loved!

I loved this one so much! I almost read the whole thing in one day! I loved the dual povs from Blake and Kat. I listened to the audiobook because the narrators are two of my favorites! I especially loved Blake and Noah’s story. It was hard to like Kat at times, but I loved how Henry helped her to see things in a new light. Definitely grab yourself a copy of this one to curl up with this summer!

I featured this title in a roundup of general fiction publishing in June. I sent a link to several blog groups, posted on Facebook, and sent a link to Twitter.

First off this had me at a camp meet-up but we also got home renovation on a beach- sold! We also get major sisters' drama. They learn they are half sisters and years later it all plays out. Love also how there was so much instagram in this story- it had a bit of a parent trap storyline but fresh and more drama. I really enjoyed the plot- flow- characters the leading men were knockouts!!

This book will be my go-to for non romance readers to try out romance, as not only do we have family - sister drama we get a sneaky two romances out of it! If you are going to the beach or need a “beach read” pick this one up even if you are not a big romance person!

Oh my heart. This book was a joy bomb. A no holds barred, absolute joy bomb.

Kat and Blake. Kat and Henry. Blake and Noah. Three of the best love stories I’ve read this year. Sisters finding each other and each sister being brave enough to find love…it doesn’t get much better than that.

I loved everything about this story. The setting was so vivid, in my imagination, I could smell the hot dogs cooking on the BBQ, hear the waves lapping at the white sand, and hear the kids playing into the night taking in all the magic that is summer. It encapsulated so many summer dreams I had as a kid growing up.

The storyline was a tender one. Loss of a parent, loss of identity, striving for perfection only to gain someone’s attention, it was all there but told in a way that wasn’t heavy, it was hopeful. There couldn’t be anything but a happy ending. I loved every page!!

Special shout out to Noah’s dry humour and sarcasm because that stuff was TOP SHELF.

I, sincerely, hope this author duo keeps the books coming but I am a forever fan!! Be sure to add it to your summer TBR.

The perfect summer read! I loved it from the very start but I became obsessed with it when I got to the 50% mark. So so good. I loved everything about it. The writing, the characters, the storyline, the ending. Absolute perfection. All the stars! Now go buy this book! I know I will grab a copy so I can reread it next summer.

Happy Pub Day to the Beach Trap!

If you are looking for a book to read on that beach that still has a lot of substance, I have the perfect recommendation. The Beach Trap is the story of two half sisters who inherit a beach house together in Destin, Florida. However they don’t get along and are both reeling from his death and all the family secrets.

Kat and Blake are best friends at camp until they find out one day that they actually share a father. Kat’s father had another family with Blake’s mom, and just kept the secret for many years. After his passing, he leaves the family beach house to both of his girls. Kat is a social media influencer who wants to update the house and hold on to her family memories spent at the beach. Blake is a down on her luck nanny who needs the money for her grandfather’s care. She wants to fix the house up to maximize the revenue from the sale.

They are forced to spend time together to get the house fixed up, but they are both incredibly unhappy with the situation. They both have unresolved feelings about their father and his secret life. They both find a little romance through the novel which I liked, but it’s mostly about the women’s relationship with each other and their families. I loved that Blake did most of the renovations herself and wasn’t afraid to tackle a big project. I loved that she was able to let loose a little Noah. Kat was the opposite and became a little more responsible as she pondered the question why for her application.

Just like Alison Hammer’s last novel, the Beach House is an absolute heartfelt and emotional book. Don’t let the adorable cover fool you! I love that two friends wrote this book together. The duo is unstoppable! I hope there’s more books in the pipeline.

Thank you so much to @berkleypub, @alibradybooks, @thishammer, and @bradeighgodfrey for my gifted copy. This will be one I recommend to all my friends. It’s on sale today!

Thank you to Net Galley for this ARC! I I was really excited to read Ali Brady's The Beach Trap after reading the description which made me think it was almost like a reverse Parent Trap.

The MCs Kat and Black meet when they're kids at summer camp and become best friends, but with an unlikely turn of events, they realize Kat's dad is Blake's estranged father and they are half-sisters. Years later, after their dad dies, they're forced to reunite to decide what to do with his Destin beach house. Kat and Blake are complete opposites - Kat is an influencer and a bit self-centered and Blake is a nanny who is taking care of her sick grandfather who raised her. They decide to renovate their dad's house to sell and take turns living there and in the process rebuild their relationship and facing some of their issues.

I really loved all of Blake's chapters! She was my clear favorite out of the sisters, and I loved her relationship with Noah. Unfortunately, I found it really hard to root for Kat throughout the book, but she redeemed herself by the end and her relationship with Henry was cute. I did feel like the issues with their dad were a little unresolved along with Kat's mom's involvement. Overall, it was really nice to see Kat and Blake's relationship grow and the epilogue was really cute!

The Beach Trap by Ali Brady is the perfect book to escape to this summer season! I love books about sisters, and when there's a lot of past drama involved, I just get really invested! (like that's something new) I loved seeing how Kat and Blake's relationship improved while they were renovating the house that they inherited after their father's death.

Unpacking the past helped resolve years of misunderstandings between the half-sisters. The messages of acceptance and forgiveness were so beautifully expressed through the storyline. I really liked how the authors approached some really difficult topics too! And the romance part of the book was just the cherry on top of an already delicious cake. ✨

I will end my review with this: I have found my new favorite author duo, fam. @alibradybooks you guys are amazing! Can't wait to read more from both of you, and congratulations on the release of your debut! OBSESSED. ❤️
