I disliked this. I felt unable to connect with these poems, I think due to the style they're written in. It felt more like statements/a discussion than anything.

Very short. There were some sweet moments but overall a bit too simplistic for me. It wasn’t memorable and the poems seemed a bit juvenile. There was not much detail and I found it hard to relate to or identify with.

This collection is clear, concise, and sincere. It is also chockfull of cliches, abstractions, and heavy-handed sentimentality. Occasionally, there is a single image that will draw the reader's attention and hold it. Unfortunately, these images do not carry the poems. Not recommended.

Gosh what a brilliant collection. Although I didn’t connect with them all there were some that stirred a lot of emotions, doing exactly as poetry should.

My favourites were: an ode to pockets, women’s issues, beards, bolt and diagnosis.

‘An ode to pockets’ - a take on the fact femme clothing has no pockets but wish such a true and heavy meaning/message - “women are expected to carry so much”

‘Womens issues’ - so important. As someone who miscarried and can’t have children a lump caught in my throat at the reminder period pads are in the baby aisle. A simple sentence but so important. I can’t put into words how poignant the last verses were and the tears I cried. Thank you, Ellie, for putting your experience into words and helping all of us grieve and feel while knowing we’re not alone in this.

‘Beards’ - yes yes yes as a queer person I wanted to yell this from the rooftops.

‘Bolt’ - incredible. Thank you! Everyone needs to read it!

‘Diagnosis’ - as someone with multiple diagnoses this hit home.

A fabulous collection I think everyone could get something from. Thank you.

I was very recently approved for the book, but I noticed it was on Kindle Unlimited, so I went ahead and gave that a download too (I figure that helps authors). Unfortunately, the collection wasn’t for me. While there were some nice lines, as a whole it wasn’t my cup of tea.

A quick, fun, and, at times moving collection of poetry. I enjoyed this collection for its tone. One of my favorite poems was about pockets. The word play in one of the poems was very biting.

Poetry is this type of personal issue and a way to share our innermost mind on subjects that impact us and that is a short and really thought-scary series that touches on feminism, sexuality and own family that without a doubt for me makes for such powerful analyzing.

I respect the lighter moments of this series consisting of 'An Ode To pockets', close to the start of the gathering, that final line clearly hits domestic as we're delivered a perfect poem on girls's lack of pockets which truely are useful, and later on 'Beards' which feels light and then hits home in a way that just makes for perfect reading.

Poems like 'bank excursion Blues' and 'Paper hands' are smooth, uncooked and make you sense every phrase, there may be just something that is captured in these quick poems that make you want to stay on them for a second and take them in. the whole lot right here simply fits proper in which it is and makes for a speedy study as you simply want greater of them.

I have known the writer for some time, so I guess I should say right out of the gate for transparency and I received an ARC of this collection this week and I am very grateful for it.
